It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.
Terry
Going fro for a bit. Let's hope tonight's clue is more telling, heh?
I actually thought about that Cougar. You can see the tallest of the 3M building from the park, but I can't seem to fit it in. The building there are denoted with
numbers, but it seems too far away to be using that. Maybe it will be part of a future clue. There is also a building you can see from there with the word "SUN" in
enormous letters, but I couldn't fit that in either, yet.
was at mounds last year and saw plenty of footprints on the mounds. i don't think pp would take the risk of hiding it there and having pepole did up the
Regarding the "trees in a line"...what about trees in a line being a hEDGE...which is the FIRST part of EDGECUMBE...which would put it at Highland. Thought of
this last night and saw that someone else had to. Anyone else agree?
Treasurer is mentioned almost every year, I don't think it has any meaning other than the reward for finding the med. But a line of trees pointing to a sign with a name
The Treasure Island billboard has been there for years and will be there for years. They update it every week or so with their upcoming shows. So in this case YES
We went to Merriam today - not alot of people - great sliding hill, however!! Can see the Treasure Island billboard - BUT do you REALLY think that when they
wrote these clues they could count on the fact that the Treasure Island billboard would still be there?
The clues this year are so unusual that we can't figure it out!!!
We were also at Newell, Como and Highland. We haven't seen the usual suspects!!!
was just cathing up on all the notes, i just drove around merr, high, new, linw, and bc..there was probably about 10 people at each which tells you really
not narrowed down yet.....be careful of the rock saying new clue was out because he said that earlier today and he made up a totally different clue.....and
just a couple hours ago was another clue he made up so dont be fooled by him because he is full of it......i have my opinion on what park it is at but dont
leave harriet island out of the picture because blast from the past....this is where it was hidden the first year and it is the 150th anniversary.......good luck
WSW - Maybe the billboard has been there for years. I still don't think they'd ever use a billboard in a clue. Besides, the MEDALLION is the Treasure they're
Allison, I'm liking Conway even more. About my Babe Ruth comment, clue 6 is screaming baseball. a comment not mentioned earlier is that "you might bring the
treasure HOME." There are NINE innings in baseball, and I'm pretty sure there are FOUR baseball diamonds. Did you check the four home plates?
From Marriam park you can see a Grand Casino billboard through a the line of trees that follow I94.
Reminds me of '92 when they were talking about black mounds. The medallion was in Cherokee and the mounds they were talking about were the piles of coal

mounds and face a lawsuit from the indains

Treasurer is mentioned almost every year, I don't think it has any meaning other than the reward for finding the med. But a line of trees pointing to a sign with a name
that is displayed near by could be significant.
sorry ment dig not did up the mounds
I was talking about the rec center at Conway Park. If you were to gauge its address from Ruth St. it could be 459. But it is on Conway, not Ruth.
FYI - the PP isn't going to use a billboard as part of the clue (treasure island). Billboards change all the time.
Where does it say "treasure island?" the tresure is the medallion!
But then I could be saying Mirriam to throw you all off. <evil grin>
Really I think that's the place. Time for me to sneek in a nap before I head back out.
Does anyone think someone would really dig up the mounds looking for the medallion? I'd like to think no one in this city is that stupid.
What religion(s) are iconoclast?

Sister Sister,
The Treasure Island billboard has been there for years and will be there for years. They update it every week or so with their upcoming shows. So in this case YES
they could use a billboard.
Where does is say "treasure island?" The treasure= Medallion.!
the trease island bilboard is one of them billbords that are there forever the post pepole that are appring at the casino on it.
Good point sister sister
West Side - you are thinking of the GRAND CASINO Sign - not Treasure Island.
We went to Merriam today - not alot of people - great sliding hill, however!! Can see the Treasure Island billboard - BUT do you REALLY think that when they

everyone......
it's not at mounds!!!
the four is talking about golf or disc golf.
Has anybody looked at Lewis Park by the Rice street library on Woodbridge st.
Eitsaeb - What about Judaism?
WSW - Maybe the billboard has been there for years. I still don't think they'd ever use a billboard in a clue. Besides, the MEDALLION is the Treasure they're
reffering to, not the billboard.
Dave,
DOH!!! You are right!! It is Grand Casino! The point (to me) was that it was a permanate casino sign. And it still fits.
Who is the famous man they are talking about? Couldn't the number clue be the numbers of softball fields or the positions of the softball players?
What's the reference to the billboard
Dave: Orthodox Eastern Churches circa 8th-9th centuries.
to anyone who is talking about merriam it's not treasure island it is grand casino i just came from there.
Has anyone tried to figure an anagram on iconoclast?
Hi Neighbors!
who could the man of fame be refered to? an auther? tome being a book? what do you call it when one plants trees in a line? there is a term for it.
it is St. Paul's 150th anniversary. NOT the winter carnival.
As far as the billboard, the clue was "valuable sign".
Go look at it. This puzzle will NOT be solved sitting at home reading what other people post. You need to get out there.
WEST SIDE - I agree with you - and a grand could be seen as valuable!
If you do a SEARCH and put in someones USER NAME you can read everything they wrote & references about them.
dan and barbi,
Man of fame. Longfellow. Tome, WEBSTERS (as in Merriam Webster?)
Hello, What is the reference to a billboard, where are you people getting this out of
IT IS THE PIONEER PRESS'S 150TH ANNIVERSARY...NOT ST. PAUL OR THE WINTER CARNIVAL'S.
The ROCK said there is a hidden DEN at N.P. behind pines/bushes.
What's your USER name neighbors?
MAINTENENCE PERSON?
I have another Animated Icon I can use. It is a snowman tipping his hat to all.
Sis, Sis you are correct Mams
What about the church of England - are they iconoclast? If Sir Thomas Moore was willing to be an iconoclast (which he wasn't).
Do a SEARCH on the name Terry Valentine and check out his icon. It's the best one.
YA KNOW I HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT HARRIET ISLAND AT ALL, BUT THAT WAS ONE OF MY FIRST THOUGHTS, ALTHOUGH
I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HARRIET. CAN ANYONE HELP.
Regalman,
From Marriam park you can see a Grand Casino billboard through a the line of trees that follow I94.
Reminds me of '92 when they were talking about black mounds. The medallion was in Cherokee and the mounds they were talking about were the piles of coal
accross the river for the power plant.
