It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.
Dingdong Didillydias
Conway is on Ruth St just north of East 94 on the very edge of St. Paul
Who's calling who an old timer....you young whippersnapper! LOL!!!!!
Some thoughts I've had as I've been noodling clues and checking out parks.
Last night/early this morning, we went to just drive by the capitol mall area. I cannot get the view out of my mind. The line of trees! As we approached the mall area I
was so struck by the line of trees....on the boulevard!!! So I started thinking about what streets in St. Paul are boulevards....and guess what? We were on John
Ireland Boulevard!!!!! The Technical College - place for learning, the New History Center, I-94, the valuable golden horses, hit me like a ton of bricks! I'm not
completely sold on the site, but I believe ittiz a strong possibility.
Another reason for that belief is what the clues have not told us this year. Except for the line of trees clue, there has been no mention of trees, no mention of swing
sets, playgrounds, water (pools, water towers, rivers, lakes) or picnic areas. No mention of bike and walking trails either. Those are pretty standard fare for clue
Go to the east side of St. Paul, its right on McKnight, the St. Paul/Maplewood border. Its about a mile north or so of Battle Creek between Wilson and Pacific.
The medallion this year is hidden on the grounds of the State Capital.
"Blast from the past" refers to the Minnesota Historical Society nearby.
The sliding reference is to the large sliding attraction of years past.
"Yearning for learning" points to nearby University Avenue.
And the most obvious clue thus far is the one referring to Jesse Ventura. Being such a huge story for the State of Minnesota, Ventura was obviously a likely subject
for a clue. He is referred to in "iconoclast," which is a person who defies convention. It is the perfect word to apply to him.
The clues are difficult this year because the $10,000 award will draw more hunters than in years past and because the Capital grounds are not as expansive as some
Does anyone here want me to create a real chat room that is much easier and better than this one. It will take me no longer then 5 minutes to creat one.
The 9,5,4 is the only thing I'm sot sure about for Conway. I was sure it referred to address, but the only address was 459 when I was sure it would be 954. Conway
is also about halfway between 94 and 5, though I'd be surprised if that's what it meant. Or maybe it just refers to what the treasure is hidden in.
Terri and Wolverine- I thought of that too. Went looking after clue #4 and found a biblical passage near Peace officers memorial from Matthew 5:9. But could not
ok thanks allison! now i get to add th capitol mall thanks to tarry valintine. can anyone help me narrow down my list of parks. pelase give me good resons why i
should eliminate them.
battle creek conway linwood capitol mall highland newell and marriam
Allison: Did you check the addresses (or the hours) of Sun Ray Library and Conway Rec Center? Possibly something there. About clue #6, how it says "in our
game" there is "a man of fame", could that mean Babe Ruth for Ruth Street near by instead of using Tim Conway as mentioned before? Any ideas?
Checked out Newell, Highland, and Linwood today.....Highland is still in the running, Linwood a definite loser. Thought maybe something would come to me on that
There was a bike path clue referring to John Ireland Blvd. And famous people Christopher Columbus and Charles Lindbergh whose statues appear in that park.

scott jones--Triangle Park is near Linwood. It was built in 1996 and is a little bigger than Linwood. Dingdongg......whatever the hell your name is, LISTEN
CAREFULLY, IT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU COULD EVER RECIEVE: YOU ARE GAY!! -Finding your mind would be harder to find than the medallion!
When I was thinking about this in the middle of the night, I checked the first clues from this year and 1989. Found on public ground was the verbage in both.
I don't know if that area is an official "Park", but most expanses of green space is considered park land.
where did all the hunters go? iv'e been everywhere, finally went to newell like everyone said it was and there was about 10 people there. is everyone at battle creek.
Question for Capitol Mall fans is this--is it a park? Yes public space is technically legal, and it has been there before, but don't the clues specifically refer to PARK?
I like the Capitol Mall theory, but that one item bothers me.....

Ghetto Bob.....kinda vauge directions, but this is what i got - east of prior ave and 2 blocks north of marshall
--HI DUMBASSES!!-
DID EVERYONE HEAR ABOUT "FRAC" IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE!!
Anyone think Linwood could relate to line of trees (WOOD)?
Terry Valentine...when the medallion was hidden in front of the capitol in 89' they did mention a bike trail...any thoughts?
Paco jr--Yes!! That is exactly what I think! Either that or Triangle Park. I am going to triangle park soon.
huh huh huh huh huh huh huh Wood.

where is triangle park anyway??
Where's Linwood located again??
What the hell??? Triangle park...did they name that one after a Seasame Street segment! Is it brought to us by the letter B and the number 3?
The only park that fits all of the clues is every damn park in St. Paul!
Ok, people. Was out at Highland with Hollywood. We ran into a bunch of nice people. A family was intently digging
by the conifer trees near the frisbee golf area of Highland. I still believe its near this region. With spade and
shovel in hand, a frisbee golfer said to me, "Hey buddy, thanks for shoveling for us...".
The sunshine was beautiful, even though I have no clue...Hollywood insists it in Highland....<
awh shucks.
Terri and Wolverine- I thought of that too. Went looking after clue #4 and found a biblical passage near Peace officers memorial from Matthew 5:9. But could not
find a 4 anywhere. Thoughts on that?
Whoever asked about the bike trail thing in 1989...hold on....I'll go check the website.
The 9,5,4 is for meriam. The hours on the door are......
Mon - Thr 9-5
Fri 9-4
Sat 8-4
Or something like that. But they are all there

Is the Capital mall an actual park? I haven't given that one much thought.
This is probably the year that will go down in history as having the worst clues....
You know how everyone was talking about iconoclast as being the devil? Did anyone ever mention Vulcanis Rex (or however you spell his name)?
ok thanks allison! now i get to add th capitol mall thanks to tarry valintine. can anyone help me narrow down my list of parks. pelase give me good resons why i

The medallion doesn't have to be hidden in a park. It also can be hidden on public grounds.
Please keep the posts to Medallion hunting tips - LULU and everyone else! I am sure PP has another chat room to further your political agenda.
Jesse smokes weed....
Have you ever gone hunting for the medallion?
Have you ever gone hunting for the medallion...on weed?
