It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

Well tonight is the night that the clue will pinpoint the park. The next question is where in the park? My guess is that it will be in the middle of one of the fields to keep
it from being found to fast.
Then again, the one at Harriett (sp?) Island was not found until the middle of the day AFTER the last clue.
hey westside will can you see the area where the old wards building used to be from marriam. hence "blast from past" the blowing up of the old wards buliding and

Beulah - A name applied to the land of Israil or Jerusalem, possibly as donoting their future prosperity. Any takers on this one? Also close by is Kaufman.
Cougar, you're right on those addresses. I was thinking the rec center might be 459 if it was measured from Ruth St. but its so far from Ruth St. that would be
stupid. Still, maybe its on the line represented by 459, or maybe I should give up on that theory. It would seem strange, even for a new cluemaster, to use such
Clue 2: Indian Mounds is located adjacent to a cliff, Therefore, if you get to close you chance of wining ar nil! aslo it says Flying down hill, the St. Paul airport is
visible from the park.
Clue 3: I havent quite nailed that down yet, but that is where you come in my friends.
Clue 4: There are many memorial plaques located there. Indian Mounds is an indian buriel site! There are a few mounds surrounded by a small iron fence so "If you
are willing to be an Iconoclast The treasure might belong to you". An Iconolast is One opposes the use of sacred images; one who attacks traditional or cherished
beliefs.
Clue 5: once again there are many plaques that will tell you about the past and traditions of Native Americans.
Clue 6: Think of a Famous or well-known Native.
Clue 7: There are lines of trees that lead you to a plaque.
I know some of these are quite a stretch, but 2 and 4 are the most strongest points I pondered. What does everyone think???
I don't get the treasure island references. To what physical location in St. Paul are you all refering.
Also, I think the "line of trees" clue clearly does not refer to a physical aspect of the landscape, because it says that from that a name will appear. Which is why I
spent the afternoon getting nowhere at Linwood park (line trees = lin wood). No other clues seemed to manifest themselves there.
iconoclast fits because the medallion has never been hidden there before. Plus I think they wanted to miss-lead people to other parks making you an iconoclast for
looking there. (Yea, kind of a streach, the the rest are rock solid.
The Indian Mounds are now fenced off. Many people were digging in Mounds last year and weren't chased off, so I do believe it could be hidden there again
Allison, the headquarters of 3M are so close to Conway, any way to relate that into the numbers clue? All the buildings at 3M are given a number, possibly the one
There is a whole park up at Mounds....the Indian Mounds are fenced off. I did not see anyone inside those fences last year. Though I did spend most of my digging

Nobody like the anagram idea?

Alison, Highlanders are iconoclasts. But I was stretching on this one too. Remember the movie Braveheart?

Valuable number one sign visible from too many parks to be definitive, Kellog Mall Park, Cherokee, Mounds, Harriet Island....etc

Michigan Wolverine - #10855 says "Look back to message #10772 for the evidence."
Michigan Wolverine - #10772 says The medallion this year is hidden on the grounds of the State Capital.
"Blast from the past" refers to the Minnesota Historical Society nearby.
The sliding reference is to the large sliding attraction of years past. etc...
but the capitol is not a park. Can't go along with that.

hey westside will can you see the area where the old wards building used to be from marriam. hence "blast from past" the blowing up of the old wards buliding and
"in the new" they replaced it witha new building.

coasters32,
The old Wards building was much farther east. Not a bad idea, but a little to esoteric.
You can't hide from the Falcon Pride!
thanks downtown dave (10871)
I think it could be at Indian Mounds!
Clue 1: obviously it is located in St. Paul
Clue 2: Indian Mounds is located adjacent to a cliff, Therefore, if you get to close you chance of wining ar nil! aslo it says Flying down hill, the St. Paul airport is

Clue 3: I havent quite nailed that down yet, but that is where you come in my friends.

John Ireland is the name that appears with the idea that trees in a line are a boulevard. Unless it's Kellogg.
don't think it will be hidden in mounds park again becuse they don't want pepole going on the mounds like what happenec in years past. but i could be
wrong!

sometime...but not this year.
how do you get john Ireland out of clue 7
Allison, the headquarters of 3M are so close to Conway, any way to relate that into the numbers clue? All the buildings at 3M are given a number, possibly the one
at the corner of McKnight And Conway 954?
A line of trees - Boulevard....Named boulevard....John Ireland.
the treasure island references are because if you look through the line of trees that border I94 you will see the treasure island sign.
This is talking about mirriam park
Three items:
1) "trees in a line" anagrams for nearby street name(s)
2) Allison Wonderland #10896 - "...thinking the rec center might be 459" what was the idea?
3)Amy Mo - #10894 - Beulah - I missed something earlier? What is your reference to?
The fences are not even three feet high!! easy to go ver! The medallion could be on the perimeter of the mounds?
There is a whole park up at Mounds....the Indian Mounds are fenced off. I did not see anyone inside those fences last year. Though I did spend most of my digging
time at Cherokee.
Are there any Treasure Island Casino billboards located on, near, or within site of any parks?
