It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.
Rushmore: Here's a thought about the 9-5 Ramsey county provides active recreation areas in nine county parks, five regional parks & five regional corridors. The four is all we are missing.
I'm pretty sure they finished the conservatory unless they moved onto another stage. But I do recall a grand reopening ceremony last summer. I'm sure they don't want the park dug up again, but some park has to be sacrificed. I think maybe that's why they're being more vague with the clues. I seem to remember Como was obvious by about the fourth clue last time and so people had several days to dig it up.
Eagle: hehehehe, a sweatshirt for *that*? I'm surprised you don't have the medallion already!
I'm currently trying to pull some anagrams out of the clues with dry spells in them. There's always a chance that there's information beyond the printed words.. And it happens most all the time.
I don't know whether or not I should go out tonight... Hmm..
Snake: there is way to much going on at Como Park. With all the kids and sliding it doesn't make any sense. Like you said before way to early It's sending everyone in circles.
Ya know, I don't give a rat's ass how many times someone found the medallion, or when, or why. If that same person dumps his stupidity on the bulletin board saying poorly punctuated, and frequently all capitalized, "ITS TO URLIE," I'm still going to tell him, "Hey, buttwipe, shut up."
Matt, I thought about anagrams too, but haven't seen any. And usually when they've had them in the past they call attention to them (consider how books rate = estabrook or here's a demo of the mode = dome). Nothing so far looks like that. But then again they did sneak the Battle Creek Park acronym in on us a few years ago.
Snake-I like your plan- get everyone thinking it is at como- you gave us all the background to your past exploits of medallion hunting. Everyone will figure you are right and head out there. Meanwhile, you are digging by yourself over at Highland. You can't hoodwink me man.
They did warn to not get to close to the action. That could easily be referring to the Winter Carnival events. I do agree though that it would seem a bit odd to concentrate all those people in one place when they have a whole city to work with.
Hey Snake, it's got to be either Highland or Como, right? Well, I don't think he is going to say where it is until after the weekend. I think he is trying to keep people thinking Como because it helps the Revenue, ya know. But think of this guys... 1994 - Highland - 5 + 4= 9. Therefore, 1999 - Highland. 9 + 9=18 (9, 5, 4) What do ya think? Also is Highlander really a sym. for Iconoclast? Or was that BS. Well, happy hunting.
Hah, yep, I'm a fairy. Actually, wait, no, I'm not. Retard.
I really don't think that revenues surge a whole lot over this medallion hunt. The hunt is funded by the buttons, and etc. It's also like, a quarter a newspaper, and you can get the clues free online. The complexity of the clues has nothing to do with money making.
Rushmore: All the years I have been searching the first couple of clues have to tie into telling you it's in a park and in St. Paul becuz it is worth alot of money this year they are (I think) trying to throw us off. Everyone has really good ideas but I really think that it's going to go on forever. Until the 12th clue which ends on Feb. 4th. Maybe thats the 4
Yep too many drugs Snake. Shoulda held back in the 80's. No I didn't go out tonight, trying to see new angles, and relook all the clues. With all the snow out there I'm not worried of it being found before I get out there tomorrow nite, because USUALLY if you are paying attention you know by the sixth clue, like last year.
All the clues rule out Newwell except the "new" and the "well" like the guy would just tell you it's at newwell on the 4th clue. Come on, guys. Do you remember the hunt in '84?
Hello, naked guy. I am talking about people buying stuff and joining in the festivites. People don't care about the winter carnival anymore. Do you have any idea how big it used to be years ago? Everything is at Como, okay? That is what I am saying.
Brian, I don't care about your reasons for it not being in Newell, However, your logic behind it not being in Highland interest me highly would you mind sharing?
No, it is in St. Paul. I just think everyone is in the wrong place. But like everyone else I think I am right. Just my opinion. I have my own reasons for my thought.
To save everyone some time and thinking I'm insane for going against the Highland theory. REASON--If it is in a park with a golf course the golf course is never mentioned until at least clues #4 or #5. To mention it in the first clue and have it be in a park with a GC that is about the same as saying "as well in the new" means Newell. Too easy of a clue. Just my two cents.
I like como
hwy 169 and 36th. ave kinda by Nickelows on hwy 100

I like como
Beer Me-That is brilliant, however how does that tie into what park it would be in? It is good info yet quite vague.

Clue #5 really messed me up. Just got back from Newell. Had a few ideas.

I think matt is a fairy
I'm tell ya, you can't rule out NEWELL
I think Snake has got a life-long hangover, and needs to leave unless he has THOUGHT to contribute!
Birdie- After this clue why do you think it would be there. I think the last 2 clues have kind of ruled Newell out of the picture.
Dave, did you head up to Newell tonight?
I think so too
want find it follow me sunday I will be driving a black blazer that says snake on the side
Clue #5 told us crap. It probably only has to do with what it is hidden in. Clue#4 leads right to Newell

I really wish I could tell you my reasons but I'm willing to bet that it isnt in Newell or Highland.
Heh, it actually never says that its in a Saint Paul park. If they REALLY wanted to, they could throw it on a sidewalk. :P Lame.

How many clues do they send out each year?
brian where is it? cental park in roseville huh?
Darryl - That is the best advise.
12
No, it's at the John Rose Minnesota Oval. I am going there right now, cha!
Brian, I don't care about your reasons for it not being in Newell, However, your logic behind it not being in Highland interest me highly would you mind sharing?

Rushmore maximum of 12 clues get Wed. paper it has an insert in it about the Carinval and the Med.
what advice?
If the police turn people away at como then its right out!!!!! for shure.
I am still thinking Highland. I am going to Highland tommorow, who's bringing the beer?
I am going to bed. No one's got anything beneficial to say, anyway. Happy hunting!

could be right brian but i'm off to scout Highland... my money's still there...
Thank you for sharing Brian
But why mention a golf course at all?
