John and Lori - But if clue 6's reference to "move off base" refers to baseball/softball, i would think it wouldn't be on the REC side cause that's where all the fields are.

I thought that base sounded kinda millitary. Any thoughts?

Maybe MOVE OFF BASE means shortstop.

Fri, 01/26/2001 - 9:32 PM Permalink
John and Lori

My thoughts were maybe it's right off the baseline???

Hey, Dumplin, why you think were all they same people?

Ares- could you please tell me where zone 1 is?

como - i think the riding portions of clue 6 lead to this one (btw, anyone know if the ride area is considered part of the zoo proper?) also could be a reference to the paddle-boats on the lake. circular references to the conservatory and the carousel.

hidden - out of view, yes it's early on for a reference to the park if they're gonna keep it difficult. new idea from a friend of mine in mankato - circular == sewer pipe == the start of the falls? (whooshing sound of 15 cooler-crewfolk heading to the north end of hidden).

phalen - bus turnaround, end of the park road going westbound are circular. plenty of stone walls there, off base == a.w.o.l. => walls. (sound of 15 more running to phalen) there's also the round pipe climing equipment in the playground. and it's overdue.

highland - the disc-golf course, many chain links at the pins when they're in place. discs are by definition circular (unless you've scavenged a couple off the bottom of the pond down at north valley that should have been thrown back), since this is the only thing that really matches, highland gets the last spot on my "it's probably here" list.

Few reasons, one ya'll always on at the same time, once one logs on, they all do, and then they all log off at the same time, and cuz ya'll always do the same things "We're going to the the taco bell" then another one would be like "Hell Nah, I saw somthing somthing on it, ground 0 meat" ya'll put two words like that.

OK

"Riding around can be fun" and "move off base" have to correlate somehow because look at how it's worded...

The prize is at a place with lots of space

Where riding around can be fun

But you'll have to move off base

If you hope to be the victorious one

  • *riding around can be fun BUT you'll have to move off base?? Can you ride around on baseball fields? These clues are strangely worded this year in my opinion.

ken, no one's sure. i'm leaning toward como, regg is leaning toward como, stepdogg is leaning toward como; to be perfectly honest, these are just educated guesses. but the only things certain in life are death and taxes. scratch that. for me its just taxes. wait, scratch that too.

phalen zone 1 is the part directly off of arcade/61. most of it is in maplewood.

that'll be 50 cents. 25 cents to me to defray the cost of the guide and the necessary work to look it up, 25 to tthg for putting it all together :)

Ares, what do you think of the old trolley at the miniature golf course by the PLAYground at the Como west picnic grounds? What is leading you toward Estabrook?

Has anyone thought about Charles Schultz being the man of mettle? (He just received one.) And isn't Highland park now Charles Schultz/Highland Park?

    Fri, 01/26/2001 - 9:47 PM Permalink
    ares

then i apologise for calling you john, lori.

self, nothing in particular leading me toward estabrook. it just happend to be where i walked 2day. stay off that course, too:) although placing myself back towards that trolley, i'd be in the vicinity of my circular objects, but wouldn't necessarily have to move around to keep them out of view like i'd have to were it across from the pond.

lori, i've got a shedload of people at work who think i'm crazy, too. since i'm effectively on call for the next few weeks, i told one of the guys i work with before i left this afternoon that if i didn't answer important email in a reasonable period of time to call me despite the fact i'd be knee-deep in a snowbank somewhere. when others find you insane, you know you're truly one of us. at least none of us here is crazy enough to go jump into lk. mtka. on new years (i hope).
