hey, self, that's not what that page is there for (and explains why my net connection slowed down a bit). wait, i guess it is. i've got a bunch of pro-packer, anti-viking stuff i'm thinking about putting up there until august that i've collected from packer fans (disclaimer: i bleed purple).

With the 50th Medallion hunt thing, Charles Schultz, and Highland High, Highland Park seems really good.

Things were becoming somewhat busy at Phalen when I left, but hardly a soul on the lake side of Wheelock.

Thanks wolfpacc, John & Lori.

Sheesh, thats a lot of messages to go through. Just putting my two cents in again about the "off base" thing. I think that its trying to keep us off of baseball and softball diamonds. Sort of how they tell us to keep off of golf courses. I remember Conway two years ago and how the ball fields got tore up, and I don't think they want that again.

sure step. you can sacrifice a few more days of school. it's only till thursday at the latest.

I personally know nothing about the Highland Park area so I have been reluctant to go there.

yeah, kids, we were discussing the ball-field digging nut here the other night. it was a rather humourous sight.

Okie dokie folks....here goes as to what I think in this mushbrain of mine... I too think of Charles Schultz as the man of mettle because mettle means a gentlmen or as to brave or couragous... NOW.... has anyone else used the "Circular" portion of the clue to mean a "newspaper"? It is one you know... and Charles Schultz can certainly be "linked" to a "circular" now can't he? That is one reason I thought of the State Fair because of all the Snoopy statues around it... but it is still NEAR Como... sooooooooooo.... whatcha think? xo

I have to run to the store. Will any of you be here later to throw ideas around with?

my knowledge of h.p. comes from my excursions last summer to grab photos of the snoopy's there, and the 3 pages in the guide. one of these days this summer, i'm gonna hafta go throw a few discs there.

J&L, I'm really near the Highland area, and the clues vaguely could be twisted to fit Hidden Falls better than HP in my mind. But I think at this point they could be twisted to fit any of 5-10 parks

Be here till the clue comes out

If Charles Schultz has anything to do with the clues it will be at Highlan.

Has anybody actually been out digging in any park? Lots of snow to dig?

Fri, 01/26/2001 - 9:59 PM Permalink

i'll be here until 1 or 2 lori, since i'll be too damn tired to go dig (6am wakeups and 1am crash-times will do that to ya).

k ...6 clues into the race here, not leading us anywhere. Does anyone think that there are some work scramblings, anagrams, or any other tricky things we are missing. I hate to read too deep into the clues, but after looking at them over and over i keep thinking there has to be something else in there that we haven't discovered yet.

If Charles Schultz has anything to do with it, it doesn't necessarily have to be at Highland. Peanuts and CS have been huge here this year, and they have been all over the place.

well wolf, we've got a coupla inches of nice virgin snow today. there's lots and lots of snow around como (i'm still trying to figure out why they got pissed when i started digging up the slide today :). i ran into night digger there turning over a bunch of snow.

No insult intended to anyone, but I feel so old sitting at home on a Friday night digging up info about every little thing I can! And enjoying it.

I go to a movie and I come back to 450 mor posts. Anyway, I am still stuck on both Como and Phalen. Looking forward to tonight's clue so I can limit my search area.

Cell phones are great. They come in handy when I tell them to change parks. Last night I called them to see how they were doing and they were sitting in the bierstube in Oakdale drinking beer.

lori, i felt old when i was babysitting my 9-year old cousin at camp snoopy a coupla weeks ago and nearly re-enacted one of the mall garbage can scenes out of the mighty ducks movies. my 24 year old stomach just ain't cut out for that stuff anymore. especially right after i ate. :)

what's worse, lori, is that we're all here, chatting for the most part with complete strangers. i mean, step and i have an indirect knowledge about who each other is despite the fact we've never met, but that's pretty much the extent of it. everyone who really knows someone else here is already out hunting.

wolf, you shoulda been at the pre-dig-gig. admittedly, i wasn't there (all the pain-relieving drugs in the world couldn't have gotten me into my car to get there, because my back wouldn't have let me get back out of the car), but it's always said to be such a blast.
