2002 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

Good Morning Everyone. I'm pretty new here, as far as posting, but I've always sorta been a "ghost", noodling along with the cooler crew members since its inception....I've always been a little "shy" with the computer, so just bear with me. I may even get up the nerve to go to the rehash bash or McGovern's next year. They always sound like so much fun. Anyway, I just wanted to say "Hi" and make my presence known.

Sounds to me like a library will play into the mix Library=brain...legs=hills...time to kill=clock in eye shot...like landmark center would be in view from CHEROKEE>>>

I just did......You may knit your brows on this one Or just trek up and down every hill Work your brain, your legs, it will be fun If you have some time to kill....You may knit your brows...brows=high up....every hill=self explan....brain=library/school nearby....legs=the hills or recreation equipment off the trails in cherokee....time to kill = clock ...my opinion there could be a clock within eyeshot of the hiding place...aka landmark center's clock tower which can be viewed from cherokee park.....I am just tryin to focus in on one or two parks based on the clues so far.....the previous days clue too indicates " sparks" this COULD be the fact that many people watch the fireworks from the capitol over at CHEROKEE...

Just a thought

Given that;

The Hunter's Guide lists Mounds as Mounds "rec" in the index (p.54) What is the official name?

Mound sPark

Every hill (dead give-away probably too bovious this early)

Is there a library nearby? brows=browse? Maybe a yarn or fabric store knit- browse

Hey Marley, Incredible job your doing w/the photo stuff, there might even be a career in it for ya. Occasionally the first clue has a little meat in it, usually a stretch, eg, the start of something big, missisippi, hidden falls. No golfing, conway. One take on spark may be the beacon at mounds. A light spins, observed from most anywhere you get a light burst, seen far and wide...spark. OK OK I'm just building a case for the nuthouse hall of fame.

piano_wire_man

Marley.. Have you ever seen those interactive panoramic QuickTime shots? They are panoramas you can move with your mouse.. I can shoot those! When I'm done with my big jewelry shoot (hopefully by Wendesday) I can shoot some of those for your site. Either way, I'm bringing one or two digital cameras with me each time I go out.. I'll donate everything of interest to your site.

zippy don't ever discount any ideas you might have. after all, we're all in the nuthouse hall of fame together! that's why we're here.

HEY HOW ABOUT PHALEN THEY HAVE ALOT OF HILLS? JUST A THOUGHT.

Mon, 01/21/2002 - 10:14 AM Permalink
StepDogg

OK, here's my take...

Clue 2 is telling us that it's buried up on top of a hill. "knit your brow" is an expression for squinting (like if you were standing below a hill looking up to the top with the sun in your eyes)

The clue says "you may knit your brows on this one OR trek up and down every hill"

Then it refers to using your legs...doing some climbing.

Just a thought.

Mon, 01/21/2002 - 10:15 AM Permalink
ares

so the question is, step, which hill?

Mon, 01/21/2002 - 10:16 AM Permalink
StepDogg

Ares...Which hill and where??? We don't have that much info yet....
