Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

Como has ski hills don't they? or is that on the Golf course
Scribie...stop leading me all over town. Last night I dup up every fire pit in the city and then all of Highwood Hills. I think you're just leading me astray!
Steve!! For real! I think Devil's Den is the key!LOL! Tryin to find it in the guide......
Hillcrest,Highland,Highwood Hills,Hidden falls,Battle Creek,Oh........And Arlington-Awkright looks really good at this point,There are slopes and hills all over the place and has lots of dirt trails....
Not to take any glory from past finders......but not one of them was a rocket scientist and so many of us coninually walk right over the thing year to year!
Wasn't I there last year looking around? Yes, the hill there is appealing, but it is not calling to me like the others. Of course, that means it will probably be there.
Has anyone read "A Time to Kill" by Grisham? I cannot find any Grisham street in St. Paul. There's a Gresham, but that's in Oakdale. Are there any other Grisham references that anyone can think of?
Maybe this has already been noodled, but I'm just getting in the swing of things with my son.
To knit one's brows would be to be deep in thought (work your brain)
or
trek up and down every hill (work your legs)
If you have some time to kill
I'm thinking the medallion is to be found on fairly flat ground, perhaps near, or surrounded by hills. McMurray Field is one such place, but there are others. For example, Cherokee has a sliding hill, but much of that park is more flat.
I believe it went down during that snowstorm a couple weeks ago and is on the ground.
The year it was at the Capital Mall, early on there was much less snow than this...and the earmuffs were on the ground. It was just later that week when we got heavy snows that it was covered up more.
Terry, the capitol mall is a good idea. It's been my first choice every since they started the new copper dome at the cathedral. Can yo tie anything in with the copper clad dome with the clues?
I haven't really considered the Capital Mall this year yet - unless the deep in thought and hills would refer to the legislature - and I don't want to go there!
The only thing that would remotely connect to the work at the Cathedral would be if you considered spark and the renovating work to be connected somehow.
Como has ski hills don't they? or is that on the Golf course
either that, step, or from the treasure's site you're looking at the giant first bank/us bank 1 on the top of their tower downtown.
the x-country skiing is on the golf course.
I like it StepDogg
I need to review last years clues, but I'm thinking this means pretty rugged landscape or lots of stairs
GOOD THOUGHT...so that would be mounds then.
Well...what hills are bigger than ski hills?? But COMO AGAIN???
or chair-o-key. possibly battle creek.
a possible alternative is to avoid hills and use your brain instead of killing time looking by hills
Daddy...could be, but it says work your brain and your legs...that's what i'm unsure about
I like New Daddy's idea!:)
Mornin Sams!
In the past 3 years we have gotten a golf course warning/reference within the 1st 2 clues...where is it this year?
Scribie...stop leading me all over town. Last night I dup up every fire pit in the city and then all of Highwood Hills. I think you're just leading me astray!
Steve!! For real! I think Devil's Den is the key!LOL! Tryin to find it in the guide......
Step, it's actually listed in the rules to stay away from golf courses, Harriet Island, Como Zoo.....
yeah, but for first timers, you would think they would have to reference it every year
Hillcrest,Highland,Highwood Hills,Hidden falls,Battle Creek,Oh........And Arlington-Awkright looks really good at this point,There are slopes and hills all over the place and has lots of dirt trails....
Scribe - that's the prob. Almost all parks have hills and trails!!!
Maybe the "new" writer couldn't find anything to rhyme with courses, so he just gave up and asked them to put it in the rules instead. :)
Arlington has more than a few for most small parks and how many parks have dirt trails instead of paved ones?
I like Arlinton-Awk, hillcrest, and Hayden heights so far....that means it must be in phalen cause I am always way off this early.
Merriam Rec, has the same M.O.,no trails really but a school right next to it and it was supposed to be the site for the Capitol Building.
If you take first word, line 3, clue 1, W/ 3rd letter line 2, clue 1, add (light a spark), what do you get?
A headache?
a blowtorch!
Tay,,,,so it's in Blowtorch Park!
I'm gonna go grab the shovel!
OH! I just got it...Ares! It's just like we said before the first clue came out! Eat your beans!:)
scribe, you're gonna have to be faster than that if you're gonna find the puck!
Ares,I discovered long ago that finding this thing takes 80% pure luck, and 20% perspiration.
Not to take any glory from past finders......but not one of them was a rocket scientist and so many of us coninually walk right over the thing year to year!
IT'S DUE TO BE IN PHALEN.
Morning all
I think I am going to check out HF today - I don't know that park and it is as good a place as any to start looking.
IT'S DUE TO BE IN PHALEN.
Mornin Lee!
If you see the Wolfpac down there tag him with somthin so we don't lose him this year!LOL!
LOL
For whatever reason, I am leaning toward HF, Highland and Merriam Park right now.
Did you look at Arlington- Awkright? I just like all those hills and dirt trails.
Your list is about the same as mine...
Doesn't Arlington light a spark wit you?:)
Bueller?
Wasn't I there last year looking around? Yes, the hill there is appealing, but it is not calling to me like the others. Of course, that means it will probably be there.
Well, geographically speaking St.Paul is less than 1 inch on my map! This won't be so hard after all!
I am off - hubby and I have stuff to do and then off to the park.
Has anyone read "A Time to Kill" by Grisham? I cannot find any Grisham street in St. Paul. There's a Gresham, but that's in Oakdale. Are there any other Grisham references that anyone can think of?

Terry - good ideas.
The only reason i think it is up high is that we didn't even have snow until a couple of weeks ago. They probably wouldn't place it on bare ground.
I think trek up hills and use your legs are references to climbing sledding hills/ski hills...etc.
I believe it went down during that snowstorm a couple weeks ago and is on the ground.
The year it was at the Capital Mall, early on there was much less snow than this...and the earmuffs were on the ground. It was just later that week when we got heavy snows that it was covered up more.
Hi all!
All I can say for sure from the cluses so far is, that it's in a park in St Paul.
:-)
Terry, the capitol mall is a good idea. It's been my first choice every since they started the new copper dome at the cathedral. Can yo tie anything in with the copper clad dome with the clues?
THX-1138, in a St. Paul park or just in St. Paul? Not sure that the mall counts for a park....
the word "one" in clue 2 is so confusing.
It could be referring to the clue "knit your brows on this one"
OR
It could be a hill among many hills "knit your brow (on a specific hill?) or just trek up and down all of them"
I haven't really considered the Capital Mall this year yet - unless the deep in thought and hills would refer to the legislature - and I don't want to go there!

HAS ANYONE THOUGHT OF THE SKI TRAILS AT BATTLE CREEK?
Frothy - I was thinking ski hills, but i didn't really think about trails...
The only thing is that nearly every major park has x-country ski trails.
