Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
Sup ninjas...im back...but not for long right now...I was thinkin bout this all night after i "tried" to go to bed last night (havent slept in almost 3 weeks, heh)...and i still cant come up with any places i think it would be....well....except for one, that is:
it's such a strange sentance. I almost think it has to be referring to a library/school for "brain", a track/b-ball court, etc. for "legs" and a playground or something like that for "fun"
Otherwise what will be fun??? walking up and down hills? knitting your brows??
well then so much for that idea. wait. highland is up one huge hill from 7th. you've got the school and track at 7th and montreal, the disc golf course is nearby, there's the fun. anyone know what goes across the top of that tall bridge across montreal halfway between 7th and snelling?
Rushmore - 02:02am Jan 21, 2002 CST (#9227 of 9433) What if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?
As for my thoughts,
I think the med will be some place without a lot of hills. "just trek up and down every hill - Work your brain, your legs, it will be fun, - If you have some time to kill" From these lines it seems to me that they are saying if you don't work your brain, you will trek up and down every hill, in turn killing (wasting time)doing this, when you should be on flat land. And walking through the hilly parks would be as effective as knitting (an activity to waste time) Just my thoughts.
Step - good noodling, I think that is something that we will have to wait and see with further clues. I think they have used language like that before in previous hunts and it has meant the clue, but the wording of this one remains ambiguous.
A Time to Kill by Grisham is about racial tensions and rape, and a court trial. today is MLK day, Grisham was a state legislator in Mississippi. He also loves baseball
so capital mall or by a baseball field, or by the mississippi rv or by mississippi street, or courthouse
i'd agree with you 2 on that if it weren't for the "it will be fun" piece of the line. there just seems to be something contrarian about saying that trekking every hill would be fun. i don't get it.
step, i believe the one is a very relevant piece of that clue. a very relevant piece. what it signifies, i have no idea. :)
Rush and Terry - That is a really good point...after reading the clue with that in mind, It does kinda sound like "go up and down hills only if you have time to waste"...hmmmmm
unless they're telling us that the hills that you can trek up and down are nearby, but like at conway, stay away from them cuz the pucks on the other side of the park. your fun comes from being in the right park, even in the right location, but you'd be wasting your time on the hill.
Ares - I kind of perceieved the "it will be fun" in relation to the hunt itself and well, if you are out hunting, generally you have some free time or, time to kill.
I am not trying to have the clues fit the park, but the Capitol mall was my first thought even before the hunt began. The last clue seems to hint towards the capitol. So, Terry, I definitely concur with you on that.
JUST A THOUGHT STEPDOGG
IF I'M NOT MISTAKING I THINK BATTLE CREEK HAS SKI JUMPS ALSO.
Frothy - I know...and you could be right!! I am just trying to rule things in and out as I think...there is never a bad idea!!
IF I'M NOT MISTAKING I THINK BATTLE CREEK HAS SKI JUMPS ALSO.
Where can I find one of those Treasure Hunters Guide books?? Is there a web site with a list of places?
Frothy, the ski jumps would certainly work your legs. Good idea. Anything to tie into knitting your brow?
Ding - I got mine in a small bookstore in the kellog square building downtown
If you check out the website at www.treasurehunt.8m.com, you'll see places to purchase the guide.
Thanks for the info!!!!
I THINK KNITTING YOUR BROW MEANS TO THINK ABOUT A DIFFERENT PART OF THE CLUE
Sup ninjas...im back...but not for long right now...I was thinkin bout this all night after i "tried" to go to bed last night (havent slept in almost 3 weeks, heh)...and i still cant come up with any places i think it would be....well....except for one, that is:

This clue is just written very wierd.
I kept dreaming last night that I found it, but when they asked me where I had found it, I didn't know!
WEEL I GOTS TO GET BACK TO WORK TALK TO YOU COOLER HEADS LATER
Later Frothy
Aight yall, imma jet with the quickness too, seeing as how there aint much going on here right now...I'll be back later....PEACE!
Ok - it's almost time to start the hunt!! GL 2 U ALL
there ya go, step. anyone know what the terrain is like on the disc golf courses at highland?
Ares...from just driving by, it looks pretty flat, but i have never walked it.
There have been only two clues, I don't think we should start reading to far into them yet.
well then so much for that idea. wait. highland is up one huge hill from 7th. you've got the school and track at 7th and montreal, the disc golf course is nearby, there's the fun. anyone know what goes across the top of that tall bridge across montreal halfway between 7th and snelling?
reading too far into the clues is the fun of it.
indeed it is step. besides. there's not a whole lot else to do until we get some better clues.
it wierd...usually you can kind of tell which lines have a certain meaning and significance...in clue #2, every line COULD be the important one.
yet another instance of the cluewriter being extremely sneaky this year.

What do you think of this?
Ares - do you think the word "one" in the first line refers to a hill or the clue? I can't decide!
Rushmore - That's my take on this second clue. In my opinion, they're telling us it will be a waste of time to trek up and down every hill.
Step - good noodling, I think that is something that we will have to wait and see with further clues. I think they have used language like that before in previous hunts and it has meant the clue, but the wording of this one remains ambiguous.
Thank you Terry, that was my perception of the clue right away.
Terry Val here is a stretch to capitol mall.
A Time to Kill by Grisham is about racial tensions and rape, and a court trial. today is MLK day, Grisham was a state legislator in Mississippi. He also loves baseball
so capital mall or by a baseball field, or by the mississippi rv or by mississippi street, or courthouse
They are also telling us to think hard - knit your brows - about what the clue is really saying. The word "or" is important here.
i'd agree with you 2 on that if it weren't for the "it will be fun" piece of the line. there just seems to be something contrarian about saying that trekking every hill would be fun. i don't get it.

It says it will be fun - not rewarding.
New Daddy - Right on - wonderful work!!
Rush and Terry - That is a really good point...after reading the clue with that in mind, It does kinda sound like "go up and down hills only if you have time to waste"...hmmmmm
but ter, where's the fun in digging around at the wrong location? even if it's not rewarding.
I haven't a clue!
But I seem to do that often....and it's fun until you find out you were wrong.
unless they're telling us that the hills that you can trek up and down are nearby, but like at conway, stay away from them cuz the pucks on the other side of the park. your fun comes from being in the right park, even in the right location, but you'd be wasting your time on the hill.
Ares - I kind of perceieved the "it will be fun" in relation to the hunt itself and well, if you are out hunting, generally you have some free time or, time to kill.
New Daddy - Thanks for that information, by the way! The Capital Mall is flat land...no wasting time trekking those hills!
I am not trying to have the clues fit the park, but the Capitol mall was my first thought even before the hunt began. The last clue seems to hint towards the capitol. So, Terry, I definitely concur with you on that.
See this clue is messed up!!!
I am stuck on all these multiple possibilities...
"ONE" being the clue or a hill??
"FUN" being climbing hills or working your brain and legs...or both?? OR killing time?? NONE of those activities do I consider FUN.
good point, rush. of course its not so much that we have the free time. we make it!
I don't know if I concur - yet anyways.
I'm just trying to read the clues for what they say and what they don't say.
Grisham was a laywer and a politician so maybe its in some manure
Cute! Very cute!
Where is the Hill Reference Library housed these days? Anyone know?
