Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

More of allison's wit found in my e-mail......course I provided the dumb questions...:)
"Has the medallion been found yet?"
Yes, many times. Prety much every year in fact.
"How do I register a button?"
First you need to find the serial number.
"Are there any good scopes for the med this year in Minneapolis?"
Don't be silly. There's no Frog Pond in Minneapolis.
"Whats a spotter?"
Mythical creatures sort of like Bigfoot. Many people claim to have seen one, but no one has ever managed to capture one alive.
when i was a senior in high school they fit all 300 of our names on the back of a shirt. of course you couldn't read any of the names, but they did it. no reason that top ten list couldn't go on one.
Ter, when the what-ittiz-hidden-in-clue comes out, like #5 for last year, do you noodle it or not?
Like, do you just go, "That's what it's hidden in and I'll know when I dig it up."
Or do you really ponder it, thinking that knowing what The Med's in will help locate it?
Reason, Tim ignored #5 last year, and so did I - because to me it didn't matter, I'd know when I dug it up. I'm kind'a curious as to is this normal (QUIET IN THE PEANUT GALLERY!)? Should I ponder more what The Med's hidden in?
I pay attention as I figure if I can noodle the clue that's telling us what it's in, then I don't have to noodle it as to what park the meds in. Last year the what it's in clue was a double stanza. Made one think that the other part of the clue meant something about what park. It's what sent me to MLK.
Green - Even if you *GOT* the "what it's hidden-in" clue, and thought you knew what it was going to be in, YOU'D STILL LOOK IN EVERY PIECE OF LITTER YOU FOUND! (right?)
I have never figured out *what* it is the med's in....usually, they don't even make sense to me when they publish the explanations.
.....and for the record, this is the THIRD pre-dig gig.
Terry noodled that clue too much I remember her saying something t othe effect of it not fitting the west picnic area, and it didn't. But the medallion was still there.
Boy i was way off on that man of mettle thing last year.....convinced of Green's theory on that guy in Como and it fit....yeah,everybody got the iron man sock thing out of it!SHEESH!
Tim, You're right. I did noodle that clue too much. I figured out the dove box was what it was hidden in. It was the man of mettle, yada, yada, yada that didn't fit in Como. If I had seen that as what it was hidden in, I woulda been in Como a lot sooner.
And that is a good stradegy about ignoring what its in clues green. THe problem is, they dont come out and say "this has nothing to do with the park" at the beginning of the clue. So it is sometimes difficult to figure which clues go where.
Terry, I took that as a good lesson to be learned. Sometimes the clues don't fit perfectly, in fact always the clues don't fit perfectly. Ittiz our job to figure where they fit best.
Good point Timmers and thats exactly where most of us went wrong last year on that particular clue.We all got the dove box and figured thats all it was hidden in and that the first part of the clue was telling us more about the park.
tim i think the general rule is that the rules *can* fit perfectly. if they do fit something perfectly however, you must immediately discard that idea.
I remember one year someone was complaining that some clue didn't fit...cuz it didn't...and it was because it was a park clue and they never made it to the right park.
I did think it was clever to put the medallion in two things. Everyone figured the dove box. No one had the iron man sock, that is wut I call UN-NOODLEABLE!
Now, wait... 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002. Mom, thass four! Chair-O-Key was 1998, and that was the First Annual Re-Hash Bash. We started The Pre-Dig Gig in 1999... Ah... Didn't we?
Oh. Maybe that's why I don't noodle the what-The-Med-Is-In Clue! You're rite! If ittiz a man-made substance, I'm gonna check it out! Xcept this year... Look for a California navel orange! :D
Tim, I can't see Terry saying what The Med's in having anything to do with location. What The Med's in is what The Med's in. I'm talking what The Medallion has been placed *in*, not where it's been placed.
Last year's clue threw us all for a loop. They introduced a new thing, of having the medallion hidden within something that was hidden within another thing. More for us to noodle, more for us to get paranoid and over-noodle.
Nope, Green - You've got your math RIGHT this time. Don't know where I was getting it hosed up. I think I was thinking that since 1998 was four years ago, it couldn't be the 4th time yet (?).
But on your navel orange theory.....San Jose is NOT in Southern California.

Nice edit job Ares!
JOE!
it kinda needed it. one of these days i'll figure out how to get this d*mn board to *properly* handle multiple lines.
that would be good if I could fit it all on the shirt!
L.L.,Just write the rest between the polka dots......:)
when i was a senior in high school they fit all 300 of our names on the back of a shirt. of course you couldn't read any of the names, but they did it. no reason that top ten list couldn't go on one.
I already finished the shirt, just have to wait 24 hours for it to dry so i can put the polka dots on.
maybe I'll try it on the back.
Ares, did they teach you how to capitalize in high school?

they did. but i treat the board like i treat email. stopped using caps a long time ago. tried to use them at work but i've even dropped them there.
oh wait the appropriate answer was "high school? huh?"
Green,
Refresh me with no. 5

Green,I actually think pondering what they are gonna do this year is valid......
If they freeze it in a mudsicle and its fifty degrees thats not gonna work.
We are all gonna look under park benches for them to tape it there.
Then there will be the nitwits that climp power poles and oak trees.
It was the one about "man of mettle" and "peaceful bird," Maureen.
maureen its already been seen here once tonite. here i'm posting it again:
Clue 5 A man of steel cannot be real, But another has plenty of mettle. Look for his name around our deal, And you'll be in very fine fettle.
To escape the herd find a peaceful bird Somewhere deep in the snow. Our treasure is boxed inside the word, And that's what you need to know.
and scribe that only got caps cuz it was a cut and paste job
Good Evening, all.

they that climb the power poles deserve what they're gonna get.
Boy i was way off on that man of mettle thing last year.....convinced of Green's theory on that guy in Como and it fit....yeah,everybody got the iron man sock thing out of it!SHEESH!
Ares, your very good at cutting and pasting!:)
just whatever you do, scribe don't ask me about when i stopped using caps. it has to do with that yes dear thing the other day :)
Ares,I agree, they go into the "To stupid to live" catergory.
Good Gawd,i've given you a complex and it's catching!
Tim, You're right. I did noodle that clue too much. I figured out the dove box was what it was hidden in. It was the man of mettle, yada, yada, yada that didn't fit in Como. If I had seen that as what it was hidden in, I woulda been in Como a lot sooner.

and hopefully when they do they haven't propagated into the gene pool.
nah scribe, the god complex has always been there :)

Each clue has one point. Maybe that is the point?
There are lessons to be learned every year.
I remember one year someone was complaining that some clue didn't fit...cuz it didn't...and it was because it was a park clue and they never made it to the right park.
god=small g
um help. i'm missing the link between the first part of the clue to como.
I did think it was clever to put the medallion in two things. Everyone figured the dove box. No one had the iron man sock, that is wut I call UN-NOODLEABLE!
yep. planning on doing something about it?
MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So good to see you!

Ares, are you talking about this particular clue or the obvious Cocoa Mocha clue?
What green? Whatchu talkin about willis?
nope. the cocoa mocha was way too obvious. i thought you were talking about the first part of #5
Hey,hey,Rerun!
What's really needed is to be able to sort the clues into their proper places. Park clues and what it's in clue. Usually not easy to do.
Last year's clue threw us all for a loop. They introduced a new thing, of having the medallion hidden within something that was hidden within another thing. More for us to noodle, more for us to get paranoid and over-noodle.
nothing in clue 5. large area, east and west, several other small things...
or not
Ares,
Who Has been Closer, You or Me!
Keep me up on what you say, and who will find it in the end!
I don't care how many time U keep me posted! Think about it!
Nope, Green - You've got your math RIGHT this time. Don't know where I was getting it hosed up. I think I was thinking that since 1998 was four years ago, it couldn't be the 4th time yet (?).
But on your navel orange theory.....San Jose is NOT in Southern California.
certainly not me maureen. :)
