lol top thing you don't want to hear when turning the medallion in "Hmm, ______ park? We didn't hide it in ______ park" fill in the blanks with whatever park :)

Allison: I sure as hell hope so. It doesn't make any sense to me.

Besides.. how would sand or altoids tin fit with any of the clues? Hmm.. not looking very good...

I'm going to start cooking some dinner I think. But I'll still be checking in.

Sun doesn't shine under the sand.

"Search for the truth While playing this greatest of sports"

Carl "The Truth" Williams is a boxer, so it might be in "a box"?

Still betting against it though.

It would fit into a regular sized altoids tin from what I gather.

I was _just_ about to print up copies of the Harriet Island map as I heard this [hopefully bogus] news. I have one. Should I print the rest up?

Until the PP says it's found, it ain't found :)

Well when the post comes from someone with something like "finder" in their name, I'd be a bit suspicious, unless they were a well known poster over there. They don't seem to be adding much to the discussion either.

At Newell someone thought they actually had found it, but it turned out to be bogus.

tim_the_hunter

Justus, but Mape Gui spelled it wrong, go figure. I pointed that out to him in one of his online 2 word hunts before the "real" hunt began.

ATH- I also think it is in that grass. I pulled a bunch of it up and made a "fort" to shield the wind. I think it is in there somewhere.

That's right, I remember that Allison. And i agree that it wouldnt fit in the altoids box, im not beliveing this one for a second

Tue, 01/28/2003 - 3:48 PM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

It's from Alice in Wonderland. I took it from a website that had an illustrated version of the story.

Tue, 01/28/2003 - 3:49 PM Permalink
tim_the_hunter

I thought it was girl scouts.

Thanks Timmers. He spelled Kelley's landing wrong too. I can't wait for that spell-checked version. ;-)

On a side note, I just want to say that I will personally kick the ass of the clue writer if that coldest star clue refers to Plato for Pluto (which isn't a star anyway) Just a thought

and a threat!

Well, this isn't a laughing matter. I detest the waiting game. Find me the hoaxer and I will send them a box of feces for their good deed.

Wow, so many lurkers...Why waste time here, Watson Park, Go! Run!

Tue, 01/28/2003 - 3:52 PM Permalink
Matt

I guess I should be on the official forum checking for qualification/disqualification of that claim. :P

On the other message board someone just posted that it was a hoax. I checked the website, still nothing saying it was found, the phone number still says it's not found as well...

Watson Park, Go! Run!

It's not there. That place was burned to the ground last night.

Tue, 01/28/2003 - 4:01 PM Permalink
KC0GRN

then relax, it's not found :)

Tue, 01/28/2003 - 4:01 PM Permalink

I'm thinking coldest star might refer to the Betsy NORTHrup.

As am I Allison, although I may be fitting the Park to the clues, and not the other way around. I hope that tonights clue at least tells us the park, so that everyone will get to Harriet and be confident it is there. That will be good for trent too!

Tue, 01/28/2003 - 4:08 PM Permalink
Frosti

nope frosti. no chair-o-key for us

I saw a white Ford driving through as I was driving through, and thought it was you.

Here's another noodle I been chewing on. That whole Carpenter's beau thing. People were getting Mary out of that (Jesus the carpenter, Mary Magdelene his girlfriend). What about Proud Mary? Big wheel keep on turnin', proud mary keep on burnin'...

everybody nowRollin'! Rollin'! Rollin' on the river!

I figure it's got to be a bogus claim if it hasn't been turned in yet. HI is literally a walk away from the PP. I'll be turning the thing in on foot when I locate it...

Good Evening!

Worked much longer than I wanted to today...the auditors showed up again and kept me hopping all day with their nonsense.

Forgot to notice if there were any hunters at W. Minnehaha tonight and didn't get past Scheffer.

Dinner is on the stove here now and then we'll be getting ready for hunting later.

MEd2k3- I am gonna try and turn in a melted mass of blue lucite tomarrow and say it was at HArriet. It might work...

I've seen at least a dozen claims of it being found over at the official PP boards.

Don't listen to those jackasses!

Unless it's Ma Press herself or someone you know and trust, don't even bother with it. And please don't post it here else we all have a heart attack.

Note to self, when hunting next year, always bring camera, so when you find it, you can have some photo evidence :)

tim_the_hunter

Agreed THX. I never believe anyone, not even my grandma. She told me it was found at Como on Monday (2001). And I told her that I didn't believe it. But it was on the news :(

  • laugh* Well I figure a cell call to someone on the message boards would be faster. Call me gullible. I don't recall many false reports in previous years. Sorry, THX.
