The hunt hotline scared the crap out of me the other day when it didn't start out with "the hunt is on". It started with "tonight...", and even though it was morning, I thought he was going to say "tonight at 8:30 the medallion was found at harriet island park". I was worried there for a second.

Fantastic! Thanks THX!! That sounds like double 'net redundancy, heh. THX = THANKS in abbreviated netspeak.

Anyway. Fortunately enough I have a job just north of Downtown St. Paul to go to, no harm in hitting up HI on the way, eh? If you see Mr. Business Casual running around screaming with a little prize waving about, you can remain calm knowing it was me merely picking up my loot. Bye for now, I'll do my best to keep the next clue from coming out!

Thanks again THX!

I often see thx as thanks and think they're talking to me.

What's this I heard about my name (THX 1138) being all over town?

Written in the snow.

Timmers had mentioned seeing it and other Coolerheads names in one park but what's the scoop on that?

feel a bit stupid!

was thinking carousel, so i was thinking Town Square where it use to be before como. so i looked it up online, and it said

"The world's largest public indoor park. Features noontime entertainment daily. Site of Cafesjian's Carousel .

I thought -- Bingo! Public Park. Away from the storm, where the sun don't shine, etc. etc.

I get there, and it's a freaking PRIVATE place to rent. Perfect for your next family wedding reception, bar mitzfah, or anniversary. GAG.

I feel like such a dolt sometimes! What a waste of lunch!

As long as the clues make sense in the end, I am really happy with this hunt! I do hope that they confirm a park on clue 11, but I wouldn't be upset if it went 12!

I hope it goes all the way, baby!~

After this is all over, you can bet there will be a couple new caches at Harriet Island. LOTS of good hiding spots.

where would you shelter from the storm at highland?

this board moves fast

I figured we'd have about half the number of posts we've had.

I don't know how many times I've logged in and just hit recent because there was no way I could slog through all of them.

So, no, I'm not ignoring anyone if they posted something to me and I didn't respond. I just skipped it all together.

Sometimes being dumb isn't all bad! I think that alot of us are feeling dumb this year, or is it the clue writer?

Tue, 01/28/2003 - 12:42 PM Permalink
KC0GRN

I'm thinking the PP had two goals in mind this year.. 1, make the hunt harder, and 2, sell mor papers. Obviously they don't win either if the hunt is short, cause they don't sell as many papers, so they can win two objectives by making the hunt harder this year.

Oddly enough, even the snow has worked in their favor this year, increasing as the hunt progresses, covering up tracks that you could see where other hunters had searched and over searched.

And to still have people guessing about where to look, let alone what to look for the medallion to be in... Wow!

I dunno about anyone else, but I'm thinking clue #12 will be the one :)

It's the clue writer!

Tue, 01/28/2003 - 12:49 PM Permalink
tim_the_hunter

I had a thought: What if clue 12 doesn't give us the exact location, and the money goes to charity? Clue 12 could tell us HArriet, and it still may not be found 24 hours after that. Just a thought. That would really be screwing with us!

Well so far with the couple clues referring to "crueler crew" and "stick it where the sun don't shine" I could see that happen Tim.

Anyone seen Jazzy Bloom

Has anyone checked out around by where they sell the tickets for the Paddleford down on Harriet Island. That's the only thing that I can think of that fits for this stupid clue. Seeing as you can't reach it by car or horse, but yet it goes round and round (big paddleford wheel).

How do you people expect to find it if your not out looking??? Only reason Im not out is cause Im at work...but as soon as the clock hits 5, I'll be out all night

THX 1138

How do you people expect to find it if your not out looking?

People have lives besides the hunt. We can't be out there 24/7.

Besides, Jake, I thought you were on vacation for the hunt?

This isn't Jake...jake is out at HI, this is Don, wish I had a vacation, not possible when you run your own business i guess

hey chris :) I think we were in the right area last night where you were lining things up

I noticed that HI and HI are the same
as in Hawaii (winner gets a trip to)
and Harriet Island :)

tim_the_hunter

I think that it is hidden in leaves, and/or prarie grass, so I used my garden rake to go through as much prarie grass as I possibly could. And it came right out tof the ground. I felt bad for about 0.2 seconds, and continued to look. Prarie grass, pff!

I also like crazy ideas like the barbs being pirates that buried treasure on the beach of an Island.

So, we are still not narrowed down quite yet---
if the majority of these are correct than this will be considered a good hunt--but the verdict is still out on that one til tomorrow.

see you out there :)

Goodluck everyone
