2006 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt

Good Evening everyone!

This should prove interesting. Inks is having his kidney stones dealt with on Friday. I am praying he's up to the pre-dig gig. I'd go without him - but it would feel weird.

Only 3 more wakeups until the first clue and sleepless nights!

It's on Hardman Ave. in SSP. Across from Stockman's Truck Stop. Just North of Wakota Bridge.

I sure hope he's feeling better and you make it out! We'll miss you if you don't.

So....

since they're going to call Camp Snoopy, "The Park" now.... does that mean, we have another one to add to the list?

Why hasnt some other park taken that name already?

If I was a park, i'd want to be called THE Park above anything else....

Thanks! I'm actually headed home via IGH this evening, so if the weather's not too terrible, I might be able to check it out!

We are supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow today! Hope that means a nice and long treasure hunt.

I heard a dusting, 2 inches at most.

doesn't matter

what it does prevent now is some old lady out walking her dog to spot it in the leaves.

I think we need to worry more about the squirrels than the dogs.

Of the two, one has a history of moving it on us.

Oh come now, we can't be sure of that. That's rodent profiling.

On behalf of squirrels, I think it wasnt them...

I watch TV, and it seems from commercials....that they like to play PS2, play with acorns, and eat cheese...

I'm pretty sure it was one of the bunch of dead raccoons that moved the thing.... possibly the one we found that wasnt completely dead yet, and growled, when we tried to move it.....

My brother in law has a kick ass head lamp, he brought it last year to Crosby. He uses it for coon hunting. Super powerful. Everybody we walked by went "oooohhhh coooool"

I havnt opened it yet... anyone have any ideas if this is ok? I couldnt find any lanterns and I get scared of being in charge of oil or gas anyhow....

I may be following OTiS & Jake around

how long will the battery last???

that is usually the sucky part of gasless.

I went through the 'liquor cabinet' ---when you have young kids it is that cabinet above the stove

pulled out 2 full bottles of Peppermint Schnapps, Butterscotch, Raspberry and Root Beer. packed them away in the bag- What I really want this year is a flask of Raspberry Brandy. I need some memories.

I've still got a big bottle that I bought on the last day of the 2005 hunt.

its a rechargable thing - It came with a car battery charger as well as a plug in at home charger. ----

I agree- I had trouble choosing a good light cause the battery operated one was smaller and only shot light in one direction where as this one has the florescent light on top (as well as the spot light) that goes in different directions.

I dont know if I should open it or keep looking- got it at Sears

I have a rechargable lantern, it sucks for seeing outdoors. It's best used inside your tent so you can change your clothes without setting the tent on fire. I also use it for power outages. Propane lanterns tend to be more powerful for outdoor use.
