I had both at one time--gave that green domed one to my sister as a gift for Christmas a few yrs back --- sold the other on EBay for over $300! paid $165 I think. Dept 56 had a big convention that year at Excel-you could only buy that at the convention. I collect some of the Christmas pieces ... trying to get the ice palace right now...got the Conservatory last year.
I do have a few of the original green crosses from the dome of the Cathedral around here somewhere if yah want one.
the second one is worth a little over $600 now. the one I got was $100 on sale. They also had the Lowry Hill house, but it didn't impress me the same. There are a few I want, although I don't think I want to have a scene of them (I have a santas' village set already) I just want the ones the represent true architecture.
and I'd love a cross. as a kid, seeing the Cathedral was like my way point when we were driving up on our first day in MN. I knew from that point on, I'd be "home" in about 20 minutes. I'd get so excited I'd cry.
Kitch - the SF Dept 56 has them for $100. They can prolly ship it to you as well. It's a retired piece, so I don't know if they are all carrying it or not.
I'm with you when it comes to drinking my coffe Black KC, however I do tend to enjoy those 'other' caffinated beverages you have listed from time to time.
and I'm a huge fan of ice in my coffee. 6 cubes and black.
I pegged the amount they won and the winner of the $100,000 online game! It felt really good to see the winners actually find the treasure and how they reacted to the find...mixed emotions though because I felt the downer at the same time the other 2 teams lost!! uuuuuhhhh! just like out own hunt.
I told my girls I wanted this show on dvd for Christmas! I loved it.
I signed up for Adult Women's Soccer in the 30+ league for beginners. They play on Sunday nights, and it starts in the middle of harvest (Sunday's are my only days off)
I must be crazy. Perhaps I am. But I'm totally excited about getting to play and run around chasing a ball.
I need to find a team or form one tho.. They have these kooky little personal ads on the site so you can find a team. Hope I get "drafted" soon. I also hope our shirts are pink. I love pink.
Things I really enjoy..... BUYING A BIG ASS HOUSE!!
We spent more than we were planning but it was a steal! It's the house I've always dreamed about as a kid.... our own little hobby farm. Well we don't have the barn or the animals yet. But we got 5.4 acres!!!!
My husband has already measured out where he wants his softball field, chipping green, and hockey rink!!! But they better not be where I want put the pot bellied pigs or goats!! :pbpt:
You know Me2... my mom has always said that everything happens for a reason- even the bad things. And the key to happiness in life is to understand that the bad things either turn out to be for the good in the future or the bad things teach you life's lessons and to appreciate the little things in life.
Thanks everybody for the well wishes. We are scared and excited at the same time. But we love our choice and have crunched the numbers a million times and done all our homework so I think we've made a wise choice. The next thing is patience because we won't be able to do all the things we want to do right away. First we need to buy a ginormous riding lawn mower and furniture. Then rewire the garage, maybe a deck this fall or in the spring... and so on.
I never would have thought we could get this house before.... but the housing market and our excellent credit and a large down payment have made this possible.
KC--- I actually thought of a that but unfortunally all the woods on our property is behind the house.
Kitch--- There is already a park I have staked out and it's not on any maps. Maybe I'll name the cache Tatergirl is so happy.
OT -- We'll still be in the hood. We plan to keep this house renovate it (it's already set up as a duplex) and rent it out. Don't worry we won't let any trouble makers in. If the city is going to be jerks about letting us grandfather some of the codes than we'll probably renovate it as a single family and sell it.
Enjoy: My friend calling me this morning and asking me to drinks tonight before he goes out of town for a month.
Said friend has recently lost his mom to cancer (june) and had her memorial this weekend, and I've been a little worried about him - this will give me a chance to look after him and see how he's doing prior to his trip.

You got crosses from the dome? That's cool, can I have one (or maybe two? would be a neat addition for my mom's gift).
mmmmmmmm nummy.
fattening. but nummy.
Lattes, Cappucinos, Frappucinos, mochas, etc. al are also not coffee.
Heck, sugar and cream also don't belong in coffee.
Folgers is also questionable. Maxwell house too.

pretty cool stuff...
So can you now say that it was all worth it?
kc & love, I'll find them and save one for each of you- I think I only bought 5 and I'm not sure where they are right now. feel free to remind me.
TREASURE HUNTERS TONIGHT WAS AWESOME!!!

Dropping budget BS to run home now.

I unpacked it last night and my roommate (who I don't think has ever been IN a church in his life) was actually fascinated by the thing.
shocking. I'm beyond happy with it.

Thats similar to the dream house of mine except add a wrap around porch, a stone fireplace and change the color.

So are you hiding caches on your lot then?

Have a great time Nick!!

oh btw...
Why do grocery store check-out clerks have such a hard time deciding between paper or plastic?
Becase baggers can't be choosers.
It's like they get mad that I want paper. I tell them, hey - it does double duty, I scoop my cat poop in there.
I ought to argue environmental issues more often, I could probably tick both sides off :ooh:
