It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

Me and the Medallion Mobile
how bout having all the medallions to collect the 10,000. causing finders to come together.
clue 11 in 1994 (highland) uses the police station in it... the street that they say leads to it is otto hummer drive (which was revealed through a play on "ought to hum here"...)
alright it looks like we're a'll starting to slow down... im gonna dip out for the night and hope to see ya'll on here tomorrow night and hopefully out in the battle fields on weds....
believe me egghead.. i dont think anyone's parading around yet... were all still speculating... im just specualting on highland more than any of the other parks...
BF: what was that line John Goodman kept shouting at the end of the movie as he ran down the hallway? "I'll show you the meaning of..."something. I think
was just looking at a map of phalen.... theres a goldmine of streets named after states... if any clues pop up that are heavy in implying names of states phalen will the place to go, but so far i got nothin leanin me there
According to that Treasure Huntin' Guidebook, Phalen is the only St. Paul park with a beach. That doesn't mean anything now, but if it IS Phalen, I would definitely expect a beach clue
Well, you know how it goes. You start scouting them out and at first you're all alone. A few days later you see a handful of other people out there and you JUST KNOW they are doing the same thing.
Then there is that day where it reaches a sort of critical mass and nearly everyone is thinking of the same park.
A couple clues later it is confirmed and then the real work begins
the problem with that egghead is that sometimes somebody stumbles upon the Med and there is none of that massive hording... other than the vikings losing big playoff games that gives me the gut sinking feeling i so love in the winter...
That phone number thing is good thinking. But I don't see any other reference in the clue that would naturally lead someone to telephone exchanges. So I kinda doubt it.
The past several years it has come down to the last clue or very nearly so, mostly because they just dump it out in the middle of nowhere. I HATE that.
telephone overlays suck. Throw in the new area code and the occasional *82 to unblock the line and it really gets old fast. The worst part is never remembering the prefix to someone right up the street because I have 4 choices. 4!

think it is 7th street
yeah i wanna know the street too... last year street names played a HUGe role in the location
7TH and WHAT STREET? WHAT IS IT CLOSE TO>>>>>IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!
what are baseballs positions 4,5,9 on a score card and could that be a double play or something like that
4 is 2nd, 5 is 3rd , 9 is right field
v 4,5,9 all are positioned in a straight line on the field
clue 11 in 1994 (highland) uses the police station in it... the street that they say leads to it is otto hummer drive (which was revealed through a play on "ought to hum here"...)
why dont you try it axel
I still think it's Phalen this year
can anyone find the clues and explanations for 1986 and 1961??? (both were from highland park)
Would clues from 1961 really help? I mean, it's not the same people still writing them is it?
alright it looks like we're a'll starting to slow down... im gonna dip out for the night and hope to see ya'll on here tomorrow night and hopefully out in the battle fields on weds....
no it's not that.. i just want to see what items in the park were referenced those years... not really how they were referenced though...
4+5=9
I get it. Hey, I don't wanna rain on anyone's parade this early in the hunt. The more speculation now the better.
how much is it worth to find
Do you think "shout" means anything in Clue 3?
yeah but 9-5=4?????
believe me egghead.. i dont think anyone's parading around yet... were all still speculating... im just specualting on highland more than any of the other parks...
$5000. $10,000 if you have a registered Winter Carnival button. Still have until Jan 28 to get a postmark on your registration
So, it's 3 in the morning and there isn't much talk in the 'Cooler.
Mind if I ask why you chose Barton Fink? I just didn't "get" that movie AT ALL
does nil have anything to do w/ soccer????
Where does it say "nil"?
because im a struggling screenwriter
"shout" is probably just there to rhyme

"nil-nil"as in 0-0 for a score?
the numbers 4, 9, and 5 are used to keep score
According to that Treasure Huntin' Guidebook, Phalen is the only St. Paul park with a beach. That doesn't mean anything now, but if it IS Phalen, I would definitely expect a beach clue
Barton Fink 1/26/99 2:29AM here.. you can all read my post about what i think of the numbers.. ignore #2 though
Oh, I see "nil" now in clue 2. I don't think it means anything special
egghead.. dont expect a beach clue until near the end if thats the case... narrowing the parks down to one is not wise this early
cause it says " Numbers keep score"
most clues mean only one thing.. some mean two different things or have double meanings... one word in a clue means nothing by itself...

or how about the #'s relating a telephone #'s PREFIX TO GIVE THE GENERAL LOCation?
the problem with that egghead is that sometimes somebody stumbles upon the Med and there is none of that massive hording... other than the vikings losing big playoff games that gives me the gut sinking feeling i so love in the winter...
That phone number thing is good thinking. But I don't see any other reference in the clue that would naturally lead someone to telephone exchanges. So I kinda doubt it.
Still, you've got the right approach.
aw my neighbors prefixes are different than mine.. significantly
The past several years it has come down to the last clue or very nearly so, mostly because they just dump it out in the middle of nowhere. I HATE that.
i'm a 874 and my neighbors have 348
