Boy, Nick, that creature thingee would be reason enough the clue writers would not put the med at such a wild location, but the med has never been at Crosby before so maybe the clue writers wouldn't know about wild creatures there. That park is pretty remote and wild. I know the Winter Carnival people want peeps to be safe with hunting. But I just cant find another park that fits those clues.
I do think today's clue is the start of the narrowing down of the general hide area. Thinking about it, there are many trails with no flowers on either side (even considering the fact that it's winter and they're all be dead anyway) but the "remains of a tree" could be ANY dead tree or stump. Or even a large branch. They could even be referring to something made out of wood!
Today's clue still doesn't narrow it down too much for me-- there are many bends in many trails down there. I too saw the "fallen giant", but I doubt if that is where the puck's hidden... the area around the fallen giant is completely dug up to the point that people are now digging up dirt.
I'm thinking of trying some of the trails near the tall pine groves nearer to the river. I was there yesterday, but of course I wasn't looking for any particular bends or dead trees because I didn't have today's clue to go on.
Good luck hunters! I may try to get down there tonight after work.
The cluewriter must have seen posts from previous hunts about the Blair Witch, and decided to make it a real one. The Blair Witch meets the Medallion hunt.
Heh- this clue's music reference- CCR's "up around the bend" I'm tellin ya- the finder gets to go to the Grammys.
I think lots of people are going out. Lina and I are heading out within the hour, and I know a bunch of people are already there. We just couldn't summon the energy to get up early
Take the kids with you, outta. I think that's why my kids are into the hunt. They remember going along when they were litte. Had one of my grandsons with me yesterday and he had a ball. Thought we were looking for money.
"During a study made from 21 December 1985, through 21 January 1986, the area surrounding Pigs Eye Island #1 was identified as significant bald eagle wintering habitat."
Green- You still at BC? No wonder I haven't seen you! Is there a fire there? I miss you woman! Heh- In keeping with medallion hunt tradition, my hubby is starting to noodle clues that aren't even out yet! Ya gotta love him. I have to work today, all day tomorrow, and now on Wed. too. CRAPPY! Hey does anyone know if my hubby finds it, and HE doesn't have a registered button, but I do, will the prize double?
Hey once again, I'm having a b-day get together tonite - click on the evite if you want to go. all are welcome and if you print out the evite you get in free.
In the 1830's, there was a man who lived in the cave that used to be at the head of the ravine. The cave had a stream of water coming out of it's mouth, and it was called Fountain Cave. All the early explorers would stop there to fill their canteens from the fresh, artesian spring that came out of the mouth of the cave. In the cave lived an ugly, strange character. He had a single, pig-like, squinty eye, hence the nickname of "Pigs Eye" Parrant. He made his living selling liquor - illegally - to the soldiers at Fort Snelling. He was a bootlegger. In 1838 the commandant at Fort Snelling asked all of the settlers who were squatting ont he land at Fort Snelling to move. Many of them refused to do so. As a result, the commandant moved in with his soldiers and forced one hundred and fifty families, with their belongings, out onto the sod, and then he burned their homes. These people had no place to go.So they sort of gravitated down stream to this area of old Pigs Eye's cave. They formed a little community that came to be referred to as Pigs Eye.
KT... In BC... In Crosby... I can't make up my mind (ittiz Crosby fur shure but I don't want it to bee).
I thnk the Med's gonna be found up close to Warner Road... Like where you come in and the sign that's there...

Here's a question... What's the label(s) the Beatles, McLean, SN&Y, PP&M, and CCR used? Just wondering.Â
Yes, that wouldn't be a good idea. I know you're not afraid to bring the kids out. Remember when D was just a little baby?
WFIW...
"During a study made from 21 December 1985, through 21 January 1986, the area surrounding Pigs Eye Island #1 was identified as significant bald eagle wintering habitat."
