It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

does anyone have an idea why the clue changed from "planes" to "places" and does anyone know what the paper reads?
this is just a thought since the prize is 10,000 - but has anyone thought that there may be 2 medallions- sounds dumb but it was done before back in the 50's.
Does anyone think the reference to Orient means to go to the East side of the park, The East Side of St. Paul or does it mean stay away from the east side?
Seeing a thing twice: Double Vision??? Twins??? Twin "peaks"??? Amid: Between or around Places: Locations, areas, not objects unless they relate to a location
tennis court would be a place, but not tennis net etc... Frozen: It's all FROZEN. But the places need to be frozen (rink?). The rinks aren't equal size, so either 1)
someone reallllly screwed up on that clue or 2) IT ISN'T around the rinks.
hey did anybody get a ticket yesterday for parking more than 12 inches from the curb , somebody is making bull#@#@# money im kindda pissed off the curb was
Good morning. Was suprised to see the clue in the paper this morn differed from the one I saw last night. Thought I was seeing things. Was anyone there last night?
Sno One: I was there last night. What a zoo! The entire area for about a two-three block radius was cars, cops and people. People were all over the ice rinks, but I
have a hard time believing they would ever put there.
Donut Man - They're trying to bulldoze George's place and turn the whole block into a PARKING RAMP. For god's sake, that's the only bar with my picture on
Sno one--I've been doing this for 18 years. With the exception of a few years 90, 91, 92 when I didn't want to go through the stress! It IS always chaos. In fact, I
think it's been worse in past years! I was out there last night, and while I thought there were quite a few people, I honestly thought there would be more. This is what
Are there a lot of people at Conway this morning? I think that a place would be an area of the park used for a specfic purpose....it seems to refer to the size of the
area, not that the area is the exact same thing....
I need to say something to the PIONEER PRESS. I am very disappointed and upset that you cannot type the correct clue. With all do respect, my husband and I,
and another family member, spent HOURS searching a park last night (and for days now)--I am one of the few who believes it is NOT at Conway--where
"PLANES" were and under Sycamore trees which are referred to as "Planes." It is nice to know that every hour we spent was a COMPLETE WASTE of time,
trying to decipher "planes" looking it up in the dictionary, etc. when it is a TYPO! That is really, really careless. I can't believe it! How--when you have this many
people who are really excited by the hunt and into it--can you type something like that? It's disgusting. Ultra frustrating to say the least. And what kind of clue is "as
you look in snow and ice" search for two "frozen places"!? THE WHOLE AREA IS FROZEN!!! I mean--Come On! It really isn't right. On the 11th clue--that's the
best they can do? I should have been writing the clues. To me searching for 2 Sycamore trees is a lot more interesting than scoping out (and digging up) 2 ice rinks.
And geez--if it refers to something else--2 obscure frozen places--than the clue writer is really into torturing us all. I thought the whole point of this was to use your
NOGGIN to figure this out. Not to just wait until the name of the park is given and then demolish it like a bunch of scavengers. I guess I was wrong.
Hunteress, I can understand your frustration. It was very misleading. My sons left this morning without knowing which was right: planes, or places. There's no way
for me to contact them. I am stranded without a car. I hope they figure things out, they've put so much time into it, too.
SF, I read about that on the cooler last night. The person who posted the message saw the whole thing and even chased the guy away, but the police didn't catch
him. so, yes, you need to watch out for your cars and what's in them. A lot of scumbags out there, I hear. Sorry for the delayed response, but I've gotta try to get
things done in between messages. I'm not at my paid job today, but there's housework screaming my name.

typo on the web side. The correct work is "places".
I hope it's found today, I can't take too much more of this anticipation, lol By the way, this is my first year at digging, is it always this nuts?
I GUESS THEY SCREWED UP AND IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE PLACES
I agree with ACE. I think it's in some hockey tape between the ice rinks at CONWAY!

Does anyone know if there is a bus stop anywhere around the park. Places could also mean a space in which one person or passenger can sit or stand.
is anyone still on here w/ me?
I'm still here.
yep
I believe that the seeing things twice refers to the two peaks very visible on the southwest side of conway
Does anyone think the reference to Orient means to go to the East side of the park, The East Side of St. Paul or does it mean stay away from the east side?
Really fat guy missed you last night, Hope to see you this morning. I'll be there around 10 with 2 doz donuts in hand for anyone hungry
Had to get a bagel. Not that anyone cared.
If you want to review the past clues and what they mean, without going back 19000 messages, WWW.METROSUPERSAVER.COM was very helpful

Anyone else???
hey did anybody get a ticket yesterday for parking more than 12 inches from the curb , somebody is making bull#@#@# money im kindda pissed off the curb was
buried how do they know how far away it is
Good morning. Was suprised to see the clue in the paper this morn differed from the one I saw last night. Thought I was seeing things. Was anyone there last night?
How bad were the crowds?
Dangnabbit I agree stay away from the rinks . Go west go west
about 6 thousand people sno one
Donut man, you gonna be there tonight??? I have a power inverter and a big coffee maker. Might go good with coffee??
I mean donuts.
Sno One: I was there last night. What a zoo! The entire area for about a two-three block radius was cars, cops and people. People were all over the ice rinks, but I

Digby sounds ugly. Are the last days of this hunt always like this or is this the exception? Anyone?
DIGBY OOPS! I meant the situation sounded ugly with so many people. Not that you sounded ugly:) sorry.
Anyone mind sharing last night's clue? Something's screwed up in my system and I ended up getting yesterday afternoon's edition of Pioneer Planet.
It has never been like this. But then in recent years it's been at bigger parks - more room for parking - people scattered out more, etc.
Clue No. 11:
Seeing a thing twice can be quite nice While you're hunting for our prize So as you search amid snow and ice Look for two frozen places of equal size
I think I'll open a hot dog stand. Sell coney's from the Gopher bar.
Mertosupersaver.com has explainations for all the clues if this server goes down
Thanks, Vicki
Dangnabbit great bar for coneys. George is great. Gotta go see ya out there
I don't have time to hunt this year, but someone may want to check the bases of icicles hanging from trees, the building, etc...
My sons said that yesterday someone broke another person's window and the police came. Anyone know what that was about?
Vicki Kasal -- do you know Tim B?? Are you related to Jim??
Donut Man - They're trying to bulldoze George's place and turn the whole block into a PARKING RAMP. For god's sake, that's the only bar with my picture on
the wall. Totally unacceptable!!!
could it mean statues of the same size
Brenda, I don't think a statue would be considered a place; a statue would be a "thing."
The rinks are different sizes. The new one is for mites. How about the tennis courts? I didn't see any statues.
PLEASE DONT DIG UP MY "IGLOO" IM GONNA BE BACK SOON----NEED TO KEEP WARM SOME HOW....
Steve, are you the guy who wrote the Treasure Hunt Map book.
Well newell park has two tennis courts

Brenda? What are you THINKING!!!!!!!!
:)
I'm Steve Ford. The person who wrote the Treasure Hunt book is Steve Worthman. I wonder what he's thinking this morning.
