It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.
He was wearing a PP jacket with the words 1993 Medallion winner on the back. I don't know if he was truly a spotter but he was there and he knew far too much
about this to be a fake. I just got booted I don't think that the PP want me to tell anyone about my little secret
Well guys have to go pick up my 3 1/2 year old softball sniffing maniac...LoL...if there is a softball in that field im sure he can find it!!!! ill see you all out there at
11:30pm with cell phone in hand waiting for the big call....the final clue

I'm convinced I saw a spotter last night. During the big hubbub at the the hockey rinks, I didn't feel like fighting the crowd so I just kind of wandered around (during
which time I realized the rinks were different sizes). There was a guy by the water fountain who was just standing there. He didn't even have any tools. I thought it
was a little strange but think too much of it. When I got home and found out here that the clue was I wrong, and then figured out the North Pole South Pole thing, I
went back to the park and got there at about a quarter to five and the same guy was still standing in the same place! He had to be a spotter. I wonder though if he
really knew where it was exactly. Otherwise I would have expected him to wonder why there was such a universal dash for the hockey rinks. Didn't that strike him
Maybe there are maybe they aren't I'm just telling everyone what I saw yesterday. He may not be a spotter but he sure looked out of place and he didn't have any
searching gear. He also knew a lot of stuff that Joe Blow searcher probably wouldn't know
Actually the smaller rink and the skating area are not the same size either. They're about the same in length, but the skating area is much more square.
Anyone listening to GL right now? Some lady who sounded like a man called in claiming to have found the medallion in MINNEHAHA PARK! Isn't that hilarious!
She hadn't bothered to pick apart and open the duck taped tobacco tin she found- but was convinced it was the medallion and wanted to know if she could have her
button post-dated so she could collect the full 10Gs.
Some People Are Pretty Funny. I Love This World!!!
It may be plausible on this level: On the pole I was digging by there was a number on one side with a 9 on it, and another number on the other side with a 5 on it.
This pole is by the water fountain so it is possible. But unless that is a hidden double meaning (which I'm starting to believe there were a lot more of those than we
realized) I don't think it was the primary meaning.
Spotters- there is an intersting concept. What would be there function? If you see these fun people make sure you talk to them/bug them as much as possible. Most
of all watch their eyes.
If they're dressed in black suits and don't seem to understand what a fork is, maybe they aren't spotters for the PP, they're spotters from some higher life form . . .
cops yes they are - it's a good idea too - if someone actually found the medallion with all those people there - they would get murdered....so cops being there to
"protect and Serve"
it's a great idea to have the undercover boys there to assure us that we won't get our butt kicked when we find this damn thing...
CA Transplant, you naughty naughty girl. Nick, if you don't believe me about the north/south pole thing consider two things: 1)Last years Clue #11 said to look for a
sugary loaf and a yellow stone. They didn't mean it literally. They were references to Winona and Wyoming Ave.'s. 2)Based on the rest of the clues this year, do you
honestly believe this writer means any of the things he says literally?
Just got back from diggin. There are still people spread all around the park. Several hundred. To those who were around at about 11:30 with the discussion about
the poles, there are two poles, one north and one south by the hockey rink. There is a tree at MID point between the poles which is also midpoint between two
baseball fields. You can see the two Crystal domes, the Red 3M sign and the water tower very clearly from that sight. There was still a little bit of unturned snow and
I think I went through most of it. The guy who found the medallion two years ago at Como was with me digging and we both thought it made sense. Well,,,,,,,time
will tell. Good luck all. I will be out again later tonight.
Alison - you could be right about those hidden meanings. We'd do best to read the clues through as thouroughly as possible before going out there next!
It's at conway, but the fact that it hasn't been found yet is what makes this so damn exciting! I hope I'm there when it's found!
This is Sharky; I've been hunting the last few years for the ever elusive medallion. I am now living in New Jersey. I have off this weekend and I'm hoping to fly home
tomorrow early so I can dig tomorrow if it has not been found by then. The clues are tough this year it seems since you all are still in disagreement over the park but I
imagine it's at Conway. Anybody interested in picking me up at the MSP airport early tomorrow morn, say the crack of dawn?!:) Good Luck but I hope I can find it
if i was to find the medallion i wouldnt start yelling and screaming . i would pick it up put it in my pocket and quietly walk away. then i would go to the pioneer press
DCRISSEY IS A BIG NERD!!!!!!!!
SAY HAS ANYONE THOUGHT OF IT MIGHT BE IN THE ICE BETWEEN THE SMALLER ICE RINK AND THE SAME SIZE REGULAR SKATING
RINK? JUST A THOUGHT
Rush-Where??
OH YEH. SAY THAT TO MY FACE. BUT, YOU HAD BETTER BRING YOUR BACKUP
Well all I know is that 200 people were digging in the middle between the two ice rinks, and didn't find anything.
where did rush go? he was going to tell us about the spotter he apparently bumped into
He was wearing the jacket he stopped and talked to me and my comrades and he seemed to know a little too much
what jacket? you get a jacket?
Doubt he is one of the two that knows where it is planted
Hey I think I found the medallion! I'm not tellin'
where though, but here's the formula I used
if PEOPLE = Sons & Daughters of God
and God = Jesus Christ = Holy Spirit(a.k.a.
Holy Trinity)
and Jesus Christ = God's Only Son
then PEOPLE = Jesus Christ = God!!!
cosmic muffin
what the hell was that?

Allison Wonderland- What do you think about my idea that the water fountain is shaped like a 4?
the RV was there last night and the RV always goes to the place where it is at so there is no doubt that it is there
Rush-Like what?
THEY ARE UNDER COVER COPS .
Yeah Rush, what did he know? Any good information that would help us?
I don't buy the whole north/south pole thing. It say to look for the places, not think about some places and abstractly put them in the park...

Hey,just wondering, do any other cities have things like this that anyone knows about??
