That was funny.... that was on a weekend, when WWE Fan Access was at the MOA...

We got pictures taken, holding the world title, and stuff, and then went walking around the mall...

Ran into Jimmy Hart, in the food court, of all places... so I ran up, and said "Yo! Jimmy.... Wicked Nick, nice to meet ya... can I get a picture with ya?!!?"

he was more than willing to do so... handed me the megaphone, told me to hold it, for the pic, and gave me his business card and stuff.....he runs some sort of entertainment promotions company...

very nice, and approachable guy.

We just got two new computers for our graphics lab, so our "older" computers have now been classified "ancient". We've got a blue Mac G3 Tower that's not much good for anything, until now... I've been inspired!

I used to be a hit when the Jaycess used to do haunted houses in St. Cloud. I didn't need a costume - just a dark sweatshirt and my voice.

I'm going to try to post some pictures from my day at the RNC today. Had a blast! It was more fun than the state fair and was free except for $5 I spent on a souvenir t-shirt. Parked on Harriet Island and walked across the Wabasha Bridge to downtown. Saw some of the MSNBC celebs and Orrin Hatch. Some good people watching over there. We ran into Terry's son Brian shortly after getting to Rice Park and again on the bridge on the way back to HI.

They were holding a Peace Picnic on HI. Lots of free food including roast pork, hot dogs, fresh fruit, cake and beverages. Pete Seeger's grandson Tao was performing there.

The first two pictures were taken on HI. The third is Brian and me in Rice Park.

I couldn't see what I was taking when I took the pig's picture. I got most of them though.

Orrin Hatch, an old hippie and Kellogg Blvd where it was closed off.

The guitar player behind the puppet head guys is Tao Rodriguez-Seeger.

The large group is a bunch of young people who came through the arch on a peace walk. They were led by the young man carrying the flag.

That's one of those pink ladies arguing with the security guy on HI.

Note that the shirt doesn't say anywhere that I'm a Republican. All it says is that I was there. I did look it over pretty carefully before putting down $5 for it. I have someone in Denver who bought me a DNC shirt, so now I have a matched set. :smile:

I didnt actually get down there, like I wanted to...

but we drove through, by accident...

got stuck, in traffic, by the capitol, and found ourselves (in the car), surrounded by nothing but police vehicles, for blocks, and police on bikes, foot, cars, army guys.... cops from st paul, mpls, various other cities, and Iowa.... HUNDREDS of them...

and TONS of protesters, who refused to budge, off of John Ireland....

the cops were threatning to gas them all, and they still didnt move..

werent doing anything.... they were just sitting there.... but still.... the cops didnt want them there, for whatever reason.... I didnt understand that.... and even after watching the news, still dont....

eventually they moved traffic for about 5 mins, so we got to leave... but we were there for like 30-45 mins... it was f'n nuts...

somebody threw a brick at a bus...cops at that time made everybody move west...

that was about 730ish...that happen'

about 8pm was a big arrest of another group that tried to circle around back on university.

The police moved the group to the Marian St. bridge, telling them it was the only bridge they could cross. However, they had the bridge blocked on the far end and they closed up the near end and told everyone trapped on the bridge to sit down and put their hands on their head and that they were under arrest. A pretty good maneuver. KARE 11's video guy was arrested, but back on the air for the 10:00 news.

well what the News kept saying Is there permit to March had run out at 5 and the didnt start marching tell 5 and they figerd that if they where in Mass there was no way they could stop them!!!

wow- that actually sounds like a scary Hitlerish tatic to me.

I'm somewhat offended and I wasn't there. What if I was just walking across to get across because I was told there was no other way to cross? Hey, I'm just crossing the bridge, not my fault there are 100's of others crossing at the same time.

The High bridge was closed yesterday afternoon.

my daughter didn't show at home by 4 so I was calling around to find out if she was dropped off or missed the bus. Turns out the bus had to take Lafayette 52 across. She is home safe!
