2012 - Tony Schmidt Park

Submitted by ares on
2012 Clues

So its back to the drawing board for next year
to find a spot so deep and drear.
Harder to reach all you whiners
than those buried Chilean miners.

Next year's clues will inspire dread
requiring knowledge of languages dead,
Higher math rocket science
disbanding every hunters alliance.

I take your leave. I bid adieu.
I go in search of the perfect clue.
Prepare to hike hard dig deep and delve.
Will have a grand party in 2012.

My Amazon parrot just walked over to me along the couch, climbed up my arm, pooped on me, and went back to his stand. According to Google, being pooped on by a bird is good luck!

We just booked our Disneyworld trip tonight for March..come on puck baby!! Though people who don't hunt think I am nuts that I want the satisfaction of finding it versus the money part! I will be out tonight, hopefully can yell out ya dig?! So I can finally meet some more great CC!

See and I wonder what primputed them to go looking at the server logs in the first place.

I think we should lobby for them to move up the clue release time...just like they moved up Black Friday shopping time! Clues out at 8:00 pm, then we would have time to hunt and still get to bed at a good time, LOL!

More likely they saw bad access requests on the server. I believe any time you attempt to access a file that doesn't exist, it logs it, as well as good files.

That makes sense.

Would have taken some serious requesting to get enough error logs to trigger an investigation like that.

Script kiddies maybe. You could always write a brute force script to get a file with an unknown name. That would certainly raise some red flags quickly.

I think someone is just dumping in the Lap of the PP and they are trying to do some damage control! I know a few people that could do it but Why would they!! I mean really we have talked about the fact it would take so much away from the Hunt if someone really did do this I know one person that will re mane Name less that Pointed it out to a Small town hunt about there Flaw!!

after Dumb luck for lack of better term (IMO) Found this said loop hole!

Sheesh! Do they have to pay to read here? Why would they pay money to be a member and then go and blab stuff like that?

Omg it was a joke! Duh

I still don't understand why with such a large hunt they would even copy the files to the server ahead of time. Actually, I can't imagine they would, so perhaps they just upload the clue a day early.

I think whomever tried it though tried it before clue 9, hence why they named the clue 9 mp3 file strangely afterwards to stop anyone else from accessing it.

I am with you on this! I can't see why they would have anything with a paper trail on it like that! This at one time was the Best kept Secret in St. Paul! Now it just seems like such a Joke to them!

Triple score provides a clue (thats the helpful part of the clue) and so do the colors red and blue. Gabes colors are red and blue they hand out the clue so there for red and blue provide (give) the clue

You should at least have to get into the database to get at the files.

Good Evening All! I was sure someone would have found the beloved medallion today.

Finally finished slogging. Now 20 minutes to the scrambled clue.

Long day at work - day dreaming about being out in the park.

I'm afraid it will be a long, long time before I get to take time off for a hunt myself. I'll just have to hope they have a hunt by then.

I think they might draw this out as long as possible, clue-wise. I wonder if there will be any helpful info tonight, or just another "park" clue?
Mon, 01/30/2012 - 8:13 PM Permalink
Terry

I'm guessing there will be another park clue. The weather is warm - not dangerously cold, no snow coming for a few days, the park is huge and people everywhere.

I hope I'm wrong.

I kept checking the hotline today to see if it had been found.

I'm guessing we'll get an Elmer Anderson clue. That would help draw more people to the park and still help narrow it down a little, but not too much.

Uh oh, I don't see Evildoer here. We may be on our own!

When we were out there, we were trying to figure out exactly where we had been hunting in 1988.

I now know exactly.

The unplowed lot across from Lake Johanna Blvd. that is now gated off is where we parked. Going southeast up the hill past a skinny little tree and past a small bathroom building, there was a fairly level area that the medallion was found in the almond bark. I wonder if a repeat would put it back in that area.

It's all so changed out there now.

Sorry to hear that Evil. Cars are wonderful things when they run and only need fuel now and then...but when they break down, royal pain in the butt.

We just put about $1600 into one of our vehicles - tie rod, wheel bearings and I don't remember what else. Right before that was a battery.

That thing better run now for years.

You're doing better than me. I've signed up and check and checked and haven't gotten one yet.

Probably when it's all over, I'll get all the notifications.

actual expenses, i just did 150 on the radiator on our maroon van. probably 200 or so on plugs, wires, and a junkyard starter for the green car. but thats easy stuff to do.
