2002 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

Terry

Every year...I mean every year....I get this inkling that I know exactly where it is. Run out of the house, hop into the car, get to the park and immediately feel overwhelmed by the amount of space, snow, ice, whatever to sift through. The reality changes once you get to the park/public ground.

But, you're now remembering to put your shoes on, aren't you, Ter? When you go running outta the house now?

And leave the inkling to Inks!

point taken, green. assuming of course you were talking to me ;)

I only messed that shoe/boot thing one time. Of course the minute your foot hits that coldness of the step, you remember mighty quick.

Not really but........ what is happiness?

I remember getting my buttinsky chewed out Royally

Buttinsky? How offensive! :-)

I changed the post for those that lead sheltered lives.

Never assume....ass-u-me

I get this inkling that I know exactly where it is.

ooh. premonitions. i've had a couple and hated the experience. mostly because i didn't like what i saw.

No, actually, I was referring to THX's use of an illigetimite, fatherless child.

I was quite mortified when called on it - here, for all to see. But I couldn't argue. I was way, way, way in the wrong. And I've been really good since - at least HERE! LOL!!!

Trent's afraid he's gonna have to put a XXX rating on NTFCF!!! :D

Hay, LLady! Welcome bock!

Liquor Lady

yeah no kidding, at this rate I don't think I'll be slogging much anymore!

Fri, 01/11/2002 - 10:49 PM Permalink
green

Eh, LLady. Once The Hunt gets going, ittiz like almost 100% true noodling. Still some fluff, but not like this.

Rite now, we're just captians without a ship. Antsy, anxious, xcited, longing for The Hunt to get underway.

I didn't say I was going to sleep but, I'm leaving for the night. As soon as this file is done downloading.... 46 seconds to go.

Done.

Ares, you said, "...and one hour."

11:00 PM? Or midnight? Did the clues come out last year at midnite? Or was it 11:00? They moved it back, posting the clues on-line, but I can't remember what time that was...

Fri, 01/11/2002 - 10:59 PM Permalink
Terry

Was it 11 at the PP building and 11:30 online? All I remember for sure is that it was a half hour in-between.

Fri, 01/11/2002 - 11:01 PM Permalink
ares

i'm just assuming midnite to be safe. the clues came out last year anytime between 11 and 1230, so i figure midnites close enough for gub'mint work.

well, I'm tired tonight, customers had my brain workin overtime tonight so ai think I'll hit the hay. night everyone! scd's!

Fri, 01/11/2002 - 11:02 PM Permalink
green

Ter, I thought the clues used to come out on-line at like 9:00 PM, and everyone (well, not everyone!) got upset because that was unfair to those that didn't have a 'putter...

I thought PP was at 11:30 PM...

Fri, 01/11/2002 - 11:03 PM Permalink
green

SCDs, LLady!

Fri, 01/11/2002 - 11:03 PM Permalink
Terry

I think it used to be both at the same time...11:00 or 11:30. Then there was the issue of the PP not selling as many papers and folks complaining that it was unfair that they bought their paper with the clue and others would sit at their putter getting it without paying.

It's set up this way now as some slight advantage to those that run downtown.

Fri, 01/11/2002 - 11:06 PM Permalink
Terry

Goodnight LL!

Fri, 01/11/2002 - 11:06 PM Permalink

I want to go down and get the clue/paper more this year. I'd never done that before last year and that was fun!

Fri, 01/11/2002 - 11:07 PM Permalink
Terry

Maybe because that was the only way to get that next day's morning clue was to go downtown for many, many years....it doesn't thrill me to spend time down in that crowd.

Been there. Done that. Done that. Done that.

Fri, 01/11/2002 - 11:09 PM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

Both clues used to come out at 11:30. But then the online clue was moved back to midnight. But of course lots of people would still go downtown and then call their online friends with the clue from their cell phone.

the official clues that were technically unauthorised here before officially posted.

Fri, 01/11/2002 - 11:22 PM Permalink

Well, that's what I was originally referring to, but then your post, and then...sigh.

I'd need a slide rule to figure this one out.

Ah, Green will be back, hehe

On the radio they're predicting snow for most of next week. Not what I saw on the internet, but it's what I would expect.

Fri, 01/11/2002 - 11:27 PM Permalink
Frosti

weather.com is showing scattered snow showers on Sunday afternoon, then no precip for the rest of the week. What radio station?

Fri, 01/11/2002 - 11:32 PM Permalink

KQRS 92.5

Fri, 01/11/2002 - 11:37 PM Permalink
Usual Suspect

Snow sunday is all i'm hearing, then partly cloudy the rest of the week.

According to yahoo weather.

Fri, 01/11/2002 - 11:42 PM Permalink

3 inches by next Saturday and then a foot by the following Wednesday is what I'm predicting.

Where is the foot gonna come from, your snow maker!

Fri, 01/11/2002 - 11:46 PM Permalink

After that foot of snow prediction, I'm off to bed. Gonna need my sleep to dig through it all. ;-)
