I very much like this years button design.

I got distracted with work being so busy and forgot to make the call until today, but I did go ahead and reserve the Newell Park building for the 31st. They said this Sunday wasn't an option because it was too soon, but I doubt we'll have to worry about an early find this year. We have the place from 11:30 to 2:30. More than that would require an additional hourly fee and we rarely go more than 3 hours anyway. If people want to hang out after 2:30 and the weather isn't too bad, we can always have a bonfire. The place cost $136 which I put up and then we'll just take a collection at the event to cover that cost and whatever other costs there are. Anything else we need to know?

The 13th Annual Rehash Bash will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2010, at Newell Park, from 11:30am to 2:30pm. As always, its a potluck, and since we've got the building, there will be plenty of power indoors for crock pots. Donations will be accepted to cover the $136 cost for renting the facility. MrMnMikey has some door prizes available. Since this isn't Super Bowl Sunday this year, if people want to stick around past the 2:30 closing time, we can start a fire in one of the fire rings.

In addition, many of us long-time Coolerheads are loyal servants of Vulcanus Rex. Join us for the Vulcan Victory Torchlight Parade, followed by the Vulcan Victory Dance. Information on the Parade Route is from the 2006 Vulcan Krewe. The best places for viewing the parade are going to be at the end of the parade route, as His Majesty, Vulcanus Rex LXXIII, the true King of the Winter Carnival, overthrows that other guy on the steps of the St. Paul Central Library, across from Rice Park

For those who still need stamps on their Vulcan Dance tickets, Debbie and I will be at the SSP VFW at 8 tonight, and will be going to Bennett's, Hoover's, and Half Time Rec as well.

If you can't find grills in a park, you must be clueless and in the dark.

Newell Park Building is a four-season building that is available to rent for parties or meetings of up to 100 people. The kitchen area has a stove, refrigerator, sink, serving window and is ideal for any meeting or celebration. Tables and chairs are provided in the 1800 square-foot meeting room. The building is heated and is available for rentals year round.

Also available are the following: drinking fountains, 1 restroom building, 1 tot lot, 1 ball field, 2 tennis courts, 1 basketball court, 1 fire ring, 1 vollyball court and barbecue grills which are located around the site.

Not sure if theres a grill inside or not, there is a stove inside.

I hope people show up early because we only have 3 hours to do everything. I'm thinking we'll have to do drawings by 1 pm. That gives us 1-1/2 hours to set up and eat. Maybe we can push it out to 1:30?

Just as a logistical note, Mike has gone out of his way to gather a lot of things for prizes.

Downtown Dave - we were out and about running errands and stopped at Newell and spotted a grill not far from the right side of the building as you face the park from Pierce Butler.
