Pre-Dig Gig, Rehash Bash and other Cooler events

Not to stir the pot or anything - what's seating capacity at Yarusso's? Are we still looking there for a Pity Party?

We fit there okay last year.

you can always call St. Paul Parks & Rec.. explain about our group begin the Winter Carnival Medallion Hunters known as the Cooler Crew and ask if they would reduce the rate for us... (who knows they might donate?)

Back in the day, SPPR was really good to us. We paid nothing for Chair-O-Key (had electricity), Conway (use o'the warming room - that was a GREAT Re-Hash Bash!!!), or Newell - outside like Chair-O-Key, outside again but free electricity. And what year was it at coNO where we got free electric - Mom and Dad did the heaters?

So we do have a history w/SPPR. But it has been awhile. I would suggest whomever(s) that are working on the Re-Hash Bash try and work on the past history. I found them, SPPR, to be very easy going and supportive when I workwd with them in years past.

Possibly if you have someone that can negotiate and is willing to work with the SPPR, you may be able to get a better rate on Newell or where ever. They're not like raking in the bucks...

Battle Creek would've been a lot more tolerable outside if we had thought ahead to bring a tent, lean-to or some sort of shelter to break the wind. The shelter faced due west into the face of that wind with the snow front coming in. A real weenie-shrinker of an event for sure.

Yes. It's a private party then. But as you noted, it has to be prepaid.

Who says I won't be hanging out late with you guys? I've never gotten drunk at the predig, I've always found it more amusing to watch everyone else get drunk since it seems like there are always a bunch of people who are sober 364 days of the year and then let loose at the PDG.

If you were really offering to sobercab earlier and no one else needs you I'd definitely pay you to drive me and my friend home.

All I have to say is WOW...haven't been here much this week had 1285 posts to catch up on of which FIVE HUNDRED were this thread alone...

I'm glad there won't be a mandatory $5 fee because 1. I wouldn't be able to enjoy the appetizers anyways since I have to leave early to go to work and 2. I already donated $$ to Nicole.

I honestly think that before the hunt is over we should figure out where we are doing the PDG next year that way we all know. I like the idea of the comment cards at the PDG (can't remember who suggested it) everyone can put their ideas down and someone could compile the list of ideas and we can decide from there whats most important to us as a whole for both the PDG and RHB.

That being said I hope to be able to see many of you tomorrow night I'll be there from like 9-10 or so.

yes you can. you schedule a pity party every night. cuz one of a handful of things is gonna happen: a) one of us didn't find it that day. b) someone found it that day but it wasn't one of us. c) one of us found it that day so while its a celebration on the whole, its a pity party for everyone else who didn't find it.

I won't be making it to the Pre-Dig this year. You may have noticed when I come I'm accompanied by a daughter or four. No one's available tonight and it's really not much fun going alone. I don't do much night driving and my hearing is so bad in a crowd I end up just nodding my head and agreeing with whatever is being said.

But I'll be thinking of you all and have a great time!
