Could you please edit (at the bottom) that I can be found hunting in the parks with the Diggin' Darlins', and remove the picture of us with the Vulcs and replace with this?
Oh, and Tim, the chipolte thing made me lolz on the bus and I got weird looks :pbpt:
I didn't have a camera.....
::edit:: PS. oh and it looks great! Thanks for all your work
Maybe that can be our puck compass tho- Tim lets one and we know the med is within a 15 foot radius. I will be monitoring your flatulence closely. Don't be creeped out.
And if you could remove the contact information, that would be super. Neither of us uses AIM hardly ever and don't use hotmail any longer.
On the bottom of mine, you could say contact at Able Minds.
The thing with the drinks and closing time is like this:
Obbs doesn't have a late liquor license and needs to stop selling and remove all drinks by 1am. There is an option for all bars that they can use once a year that's called the Holiday Party option. Bar owners get to stay open until 3am once a year for things such as an employee Christmas party. The only stipulation is that no cash can change hands after 1am. But people can drink until 3am(I think - maybe 2am) but the drinks need to be paid for ahead of time. This way it's considered to be a private party and not open to the public. Obbs also has a rule that they can't allow anyone into the party after 1am since the place is officially closed for the night. That's also the reason why the regular patrons upstairs need to leave since the place is closed and only open to us and our party. This being said, there will be a kitty taken for drinks to be served after 1am. Similar to the food, if you're not going to pay then don't expect any drinks since they can't sell anything after 1am. Those of us that are left at that time can figure out what we want to toss into the pot at that time to keep things fair. Questions?
Do you mean this dude? Ran into him at Jana's class reunion this past summer. It was kinda cool since he wasn't even part of her class. We were both wearing female name tags that we found(mine was on my suit coat) as part of our personal touch for being included with the rest of the bunch.
He is involved now with the blanket tossing dealio and lives not far from us in the north end.
I saw him at McGoverns on New Years 08-09.
Thanks again for being the point man on this.
Is there a way to print just that info, without the sidebars?
<div class="content"><div id="content-inner">
and go until here
<div class="node-links">
I'm hoping everyone has access to this?
Oh yeah, Mr. Webmaster: Is it OK for me to do this?
Unless I get a better offer that involves nudity :ooh:
Kidding! Jeez!
What happened to service??
We are expected now to tip for terrible service.
If a wait staffer is takes my "drink" order and I get need to wait 20 mins. and I watch him/her talk to their spouse, text a friend, and go to the bathroom all while the drink is sitting on their tray. Why in god's name would I tip him/her??
Lets just think about this in a small scale.
If I don't tip him/her, but did I buy a drink???
Did I have a percentage of that drink go to the waitstaff's paycheck??
Every drink the waitstaff sells is a portion of their paycheck.
If the boss is happy and making a ton of money its a chance for the waitstaff to make a promotion and a maybe even a raise.
Its their job to sell drinks and keep selling them.
Granted tipping is considered the norm ...but its also considered the norm for "good service".
I know and I've seen waitstaff that just don't care and I believe its sad.
reminds me of a story....
I friend of mine called to make a dentist appointment...
The officestaff was kind and took the time to make an appointment but was friendly the entire time on the phone. Even though it took over 20 mins. because of all the complications of finding a time to work.
The entire time the officestaff was nice.
The caller(patient) went out of their way to say thank you to the office staff.
Hung up the phone and thought...."why did i make such a big deal about a person doing a job they love to do"?
all i'm saying is people forget where their pay comes from....doesn't matter what job you have....or even if you have a job or not...
respect is respect...its gone
I get that. Some are good at hanging out at 1 table all night but the majority move all over the place during pre-dig.
a penny shows you took the time to assess the service and it was horrible.
personally I give 10% for bad to good service
15 to 30 and even more once or twice for exceptional to amazing service.
however, most places tack on a required 15 to 18% when there are more than 8 people.
and then there is the difference between tipping on drinks vs food brought to the table. Ive tipped on food and turn around and tip the bartender for making the drinks.
pulltabs.... I personally think I should only have to tip when Im all done pulling from the same girl from the same place in the same afternoon. Lets say my friend and I throw in 40 each... we pull a 100 winner and then tip 10 back to the girl... after splitting the 50/50 back and throwing the 10 in we are 5 bucks up.
Next we throw in 40 again each... pull a 200 winner... split 50/50 and give 20 to the girl... we are up 50 each. Now add those together... the girl is up $30 and we are up $55. Thats on a good day. I sink that 55 back in and pull nothing... shes up 30 and Im at zero.
I think it should be a total pull.... I win 300 for the day and she gets her 30. I pull a couple winners but overall I am under? she gets zero too.
however the person that would know about this most is Brasscat...
do you get alot of tips? do people vary?
I like this conversation though. trying to learn something about tipping I don't already know about.
