So it wouldn't be a problem unless the person egrams the other person. Could at least inform them and let them make the decision.

I ask because someone wants to ignore someone else but doesn't want to hurt feelings.

I for one would want to know if I'm being ignored. How do they think the PM's would ever stop. They might think it's a glitch or something and make a big deal out of it. If someone is bugging you to the point that you want to ignore them, the fact that persons knows it shouldn't be an issue.

Pussyfooting around the issue is BS and doesn't fix anything IMHO.

I don't care either way. I don't ignore anyone because I like to read and see everything. Otherwise I'm out of the loop.

Speaking from experience, if someone wants to ignore someone else, they should be told directly. At least the person knows that it's that serious, and they can't claim they didn't know. If someone asks someone to leave them alone, they should respect it.

If they don't get told....

they might take them off "ignore" then have over 1000 egrams to read.

Sorry, but that entire converstaion was out of place and unneeded. If there was a problem and anyone else happened to know about it at any point of time it should have been brought to our attention.

I couldn't believe that I was defending AM last night to Excavating Stud. (I think that's who he was) He was riding me about the posting fee and how he couldn't believe that the site administrators were making soo much money off of us for only a short period of time. I set him straight and let him know that the measly $10 he put in doesn't give AM any kind of profit and they get more of their money from the folder hosts than anything. I couldn't believe how long we went around on it. He thought that I set it up and was floored that the sysop wasn't local.

People are idiots if they comment on something before doing any kind of investigating first.

As I said before, I'm amazed at how much BS a simple $10 can keep out. That's worth it in itself to me. We should have went pay-to-post years ago. No need for an invite thread then. :wink:

This is sad... and dangerous. To me the big issue here is censoring OT's post. No one should have the ability to sanitize threads for no good reason. Why would that sentence be removed and the action to restore his name on coolertimes be simultaneous? The only reason to take that kind of action would be so that the public doesn't see the fact that his name and profile was removed in the first place. Is it possible to prove at this point who did what? It is important that our moderators don't violate the trust we put in them to further their own agenda. At the same time it is important that we don't judge a person guilty without evidence to substantiate the claim. Whoever did this it isn't just a trivial matter. Censorship of any ones post for reasons outside of conduct violations should not be tolerated.

I say we talk with Tim about this, see if there's anything that can be figured out about it. The impression that I got was Cluemaster was going to look into it.
