To make myself clear. I appreciate your sincerity. However I believe that it is not Redbear's decision. His leaving because of that post has caused more issues then I have mentioned. And now that he no longer wants to persue it is even more fishy to me. I respect your opinion so I have contacted the SYSOP. I would appreciate it if you did not inform the other moderators that I have done this. I will contact you with the information I get from Tim V. And at that time we can work out the next step.

Don't feel bad. I won't say anything to her about it, and I don't know that anyone else will say anything to her about it. The impression that I get is that she's trying to figure this out to make OTS look a bit better. Like he was set up to do what he did and that will make things better somewhat. That's just my opinion though.

IMHO, if it did happen outside the CCRC, does it really excuse what he did? And I'm not saying this because it's personal by any means, let me get that out of the way right away. Even if it was Ares who had done this, I don't think it was right. We have pressure that we'll have to deal with and we have standards that we should abide by. I don't think it's right under any circumstances to change a person's post like that without letting that person or the other moderators know. It's unfortunate that it had to get to that point and he reacted that way. I just don't think it excuses it really.

i'd really like to see her state what issues his leaving caused? a spat over an inappropriate response. yes. an edited post, yes. would those things have happened had bear not left? no. did bear leave solely because of that post? no. does bear bear the blame of those things happening because he left? no.

Did someone do something to the 2006 hunt thread? I had over 1200 unread posts and now there are only 283 unread. Not a big deal just wondering.

Kitch got rid of that parks thread,that had all those parks. That probably got rid of a number of posts. Probably not 1000, but a good number.

I think I figured it out. I hit that link back there where OT says something about a guess on the PP boards. That was in the 2006 hunt thread that I haven't been in for a week. I think that marked a bunch of the posts as read for some reason. I remember pf did the same thing.

that wouldn't even account for 50, kitch. maybe a dozen and a half.

what's weird about the highwater marks that the software keeps for you is that you probalby won't get to a point where you're that number of posts from the end.

I have not heard anything more back yet.

Maybe a couple of days tops. And I would assume it was posted in the Things That Irritate You thread. If posted in here at all. I'm in agreement with most in here that if it was posted it was probably done in one of the Mustikal Musik threads that were deleted when it went pay-to-post.

I do know it would calm a few people down if it was looked into. Thank you and I'm sure we'll stand behind whatever decision you want to make.

Tim - You are simply the best. Whatever you are willing or unwilling to do is fine with us here.

FYI - Pay Me is the wife unit of the person who got caught with his editing hand here not long ago so she is taking this more personally.

Well near as I can tell, its not in any discussion that has been deleted. So I would say its within a discussion that is still alive and well.

The way it works is this. Message that have been deleted are not written to the logs, because they are only marked in the discussion as deleted. They still do exist, you just can't see them. But If I export the correct discussion, I would be able to find the message, but It would not tell me Who deleted it.

I could eventually find out who deleted it however its a pretty time consuming process. I am more than willing to do this, but someone would have to pay up for this one. I am not being an ass here, this could take upwards of 5 hours to find out. and I just have too much going on to stop for a needle in the haystack project right now.

I will egram this to Pay Me, to see if its worth it to her to Pay me to find out. Let me know your pleasure.

Oh and since this has become such a fun and exciting type of problem, I will be adding logic to the delete message templates that will automatically write a log file with all the juicy particulars in it.

I absolutely hate the Big Brother Concept, but this has happened enough times (yes there were others) that I've got to do something to make my life easier!
