I just got in and only read this thread. I take it that JT requested to be removed from here? I turned him down many times this past week and told him to talk with one of you guys. Was there more drama than that or is that the gist?

I'm going to post this here because I'm now wondering what all this crap is really about.

When THX decided not to be a moderator any longer, I don't think any of us asked him to stay. I didn't because I knew he was tired of all the stuff he put up with the time at PF. He was tired of being the stern controller. I figured he had done his time and needed the break.

Could we be dealing with hurt feelings?

What was his deal? From looking at the tagline before and now, I really don't see anything that should be an issue. But I will say that he was pretty paranoid when the questions were flying around about who made the edit. I told him to calm down because noone would ever think he would do that kind of a thing. It's probably all just finally getting to him as it is to a lot of us. But searching last night with OTiS made me realize first hand that there are definitely two different worlds here. As much as I think what he did was stupid and could have easily gone about it in a different way, it still didn't have a major affect what happens on the outside. Everything in here seems so big to us because you are actually experiencing it in your own head and can elevated it to wherever you want. It's all self inflicted and there's been a lot of stuff piling on for awhile that might have finally overflowed for JT to call it quits.

I would have hoped he could have talked in here about it if it was an issue. I don't see him holding back shit about anything. Just visit the News threads in pf anytime.

Could be. I think he's just moderating himself is all and needed help in doing so. It was probably better for all involved.

There's a reason I know he has a much more sensitive side - and it's not this woman's intuition.

I just hope that somehow, someday, this tension and divisivness will become part of the past.

I haven't checked the hunt thread at all. Did he post anything public that showed his anger? I didn't see anything anywhere else.

I found what I believe is it.

Tim posted in the hunt thread about the choice of being at the rec center with green's deviled eggs or in Maplwood without them..and he voted for Maplewood. (I'm paraphrasing this.)

There is history that knowing that, would make that post sting more than what it looks like on the surface.

Hopefully posting her concern in the COC thread will be enough to stop it.

he could have left out the reference to the deviled eags (especially if there's bad blood between them; who knows, green and pops were together for a while now they're not so maybe) but i honestly didn't find that overly offensive.

I think it's Tim being his usual "stuff it in your face" self. But it had the tones of telling her he'd rather she didn't attend.

If I had paid more attention to it at the time (I was toing and froing here and skim slogging), I would have said something.

Hopefully, this will just blow over.

the intention was for a "resource" guide...

but didn't work out...and I felt taking up space...

tim looks to be stirring things up again. i think we need to address his post about the deleted post stating something to the effect that its possible to delete a post; we've been playing around with it to prove that one can disappear. but as to who did it if it ever was there, we'll never be able to determine it.

I think it's a good idea to say something. Tim is stirring things again and if we don't answer his issue, it will continue.

Are we not going to see if Tim the sysop can help with that?

Perhaps a statement that we are still working on that and if/when we get an answer, we will let others know?

that's something that i don't think we'd get very far with. with the edit of ot's post, we knew where the post was exactly, and i could give tim a time frame to search in the logs for it within aa few hours. with this, we're talking at least a week of time in the log files and what not. i'm not sure its really necessary to have him find it. personally, i think we ought to let it go as far as tracking it down, and just mention that its feasible that it could be done.

here's what i'm gonna respond to tim's insistence that we investigate the matter:

tim, we've done some investigation as moderators, and have discovered that, unlike at pf, when a post is deleted here, all the posts after it shift down their numbers and take its place (check out the screen snaps in the look and feel test folder), rather than showing up as a deleted post.

any problems with it?

I don't understand why he wants to stir things up all the time.

I suspect what you have there will keep him quiet about it for 5 minutes.

But it's worth a try.
