Why does it seem like all rebate forms are mailed to Minnesota? Are you guys like the rebate capitol are something>
I think the town of Young America - is just a giagantic rebate factory - they should have a sign at the start of the city that says - get your rebates here.
You're right L4V. I always thought that those rebate centers were for local deals but came to see that most national brands go through either Young America or Grand Rapids. Weird.
1) sends chills up my spine to think my dad just hunted with these kids
2) don't tell my wife ...as she hate my guns in the house (even if in a gun safe)
3) Scouts = cooler
The man that lives (Steve) in the newer house between Thompson's and us, back in the corner of our property, was shot by his own 13 year old son by accident as the kid was unloading his gun. A helcopter picked him up in the field by their house and Ed (the electrician) told us last night that we would probably loose an arm and he is shot in his guts too, so maybe liver, etc. Sounds bad and I guess the kid is really in a bad mental state. The two boys had hunted in the group with Dad the week end before too, so Dad knows the Dad and boys. They said they were really good boys and lucky they were scouts as they were able to take care of their Dad and did what they should do before help arrived. It is so sad.
I'm not worried about any guns in my house...its almost impossible to get to them...
I got a lock on them and another lock on the ammo...
everything is seperated......
I'm about as safe with them as you can get....the only thing I've been wanting to get is an additional trigger lock for each one of them.
...and my gun safe is not easy to get into..you need a combo.
(years of living and growing up in a major hunting family that understands gun safety was a major benefit for me) my dad was even an certified gun safety instructor for the state.
If every one would follow these simple rules we would never have to here a story like this again.
(Jeff Cooper - The Art of the Rifle)
#1 All guns are always loaded. An unloaded gun is useless, and no one should ever assume that any piece they may see or touch is not ready to fire. Would that we would never again hear the plaintive wail, "I didn't know it was loaded!" Of course, it was loaded. That is why it exists. Treat it so!
#2 Never let the muzzle cover anything that you are not willing to destroy. When you point a weapon, you may not always actually intend to destroy, but you must be emotionally willing to do so. The fact that the piece is not loaded does not alter the fact. See rule 1.
#3Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target. Guns do not "Go off" by themselves. Somebody fires them. The competent shooter keeps his finger straight and outside the trigger guard until they verify there sight picture. Violation of Rule 3 is responsible for about 80% of firearms mishaps.
#4 Be sure of you target. Never shoot at anything that you have not identified. Never shoot at shadows or sound or a silhouette or anything that you cannot see clearly. Also make sure of what is behind and beyond your target that a bullet may penetrate completely.
Just got home from shopping at the MOA, and there's no one there! I was able to pick out of several spots right at the entrance to park and no lines in any of the stores. In fact, the stores were so empty I pretty much had my own personal shopper in each store I went to. The only reason I went there in the first place was to buy an Atlanta Falcon cap for a grandson. It's the only place I could find that carried them. But I might go back now. Gap had tons of stuff that they're sold out of in Woodbury.
Or else more people are using the internet to order gifts? I was thinking about something I should have bought today and then figured I'll just go online and order it. I have ordered a few things for my sisters and a niece online already. Nice deals from Crate & Barrel. And then I saw where I can package them and get my postage online and the postal service will pick them up at my door. I might never leave my house again! :pbpt:
I even noticed price diffrences on the ad from Walmarts store prices compared to online prices. Stuff that was already super low for black Friday was even lower online.
My daughter who lives in Cottage Grove got a different WalMart ad for Black Friday. Different prices. All higher. Then I saw a segment on the news the other night about how Wisconsin has a law where retailers can't sell merchandise below cost so some of their specials were higher than Woodbury, for instance. She must have gotten a Wisconsin ad. I guess it would pay to travel from Hudson to Woodbury to get the special deals.
I'm going to patent the idea of an online mall in a mall. A coffee shop/internet cafe that is geared towards purchasing items online. You can eat, drink, and do all your shopping online at the mall there.
Then you can either have it all delivered to your home via mail or you can have it packed and ready to pick up when you leave the mall at a single stop location.
I have an idea I'd like to patent also. One of those bedside deals that plays soothing sounds like ocean waves, birds, wind, etc. I want one that sounds like someone breathing. I'd even add a snore occasionally.
1 room down 2 to go

Listen to your wife. I was the same way and made Ted keep his guns at his Dad's. You just never know. Don't you usually hunt up by your Dad's anyway?
yep...
