Almost fainted twice at work yesterday. I have shakes and am almost always detached from reality lately. My temp is better anyway. I went in today and got a referral to a ENT specialist. Hopefully they'll find something for the reason why I'm backed up all the time. I did get a new prescription for a sedative to help in those crazy times. I never had this before. It's kinda scary but it's at least better knowing others have gone through it before. I'm just surprised that it didn't happen a year ago.
My best prescription to date has been you guys. Whenever I'm around you guys I feel much better.
Nurse J has a way of working her magic as well.
CM - I truly hope you feel better fast. Those shakey, wobbly, dizzy feelings are horrible. Are they thinking you might have some inner ear issues? Whatever it is, here's praying they get to the bottom of it and get you on the mend quicker than quick.
ok, this may be late notice for some people, impossible still for others, but after the fun shindig at becks' on saturday night, we decided to have another one at our place this friday night. a shoot the breeze live session if you will. everyone is invited. we've got hot dogs, a few burgers. bring something to share and yob, and kind of give me a head count on who's planning on being there, so i know if i need more meat.
I just got tested by EarNoseThroat specialist TODAY for dizziness spells.
It's a relatively harmless procedure - but CM probably won't have it done until the docs can rule out all the "normal" things that can interfere with the inner ear - including colds / infections.
I'm perfectly healthy and still ended up getting small bouts of vertigo from time to time. I guess there's a name for my condition - but there's not a whole lot that can be done about it.
My guess is CM will probably not be having problems like that once he purges the "Alien" from his body. (Stole that line from the old WCCO radio anchor Steve Cannon) Get well soon!
I'm back! The son-in-law dropped off the computer today.
I tried getting on-line in Utah (see It's a Sad Day Today), but it was a lap top and I couldn't find the back key and made too many mistakes to post anything. I had to ask where the mouse was.
Now I have lots of posts to catch up on. Happy Birthday to anyone I may have missed in my absence.
I think with the price of a movie ticket getting closer and closer to the cost of a DVD, and the fact that home theater systems are getting better and cheaper every year, you'll probably start seeing a lot more direct to DVD movies.
How are the police going to know that you are not just dialing a number?
The statute states exceptions:
Subd. 3. Exceptions. This section does not apply if a wireless communications device is used: (1) solely in a voice-activated or other hands-free mode;(2) for making a cellular phone call; (3) for obtaining emergency assistance to (i) report a traffic accident, medical emergency, or serious traffic hazard, or (ii) prevent a crime about to be committed; (4) in the reasonable belief that a person's life or safety is in immediate danger; or (5) in an authorized emergency vehicle while in the performance of official duties.
Looks like another unenforcible statute or just another way to allow illegal searches and interrogations.
the statute is meant for emails and text messages while driving.. it isn't illegal *yet* in MN to drive while on your cell phone.
I wont be surprised when Cell Phones become obsolete when driving. The reason being, they've sone alot of studies, and even when you use bluetooth or another hands-free device, your focus is still taken off the road.
They should ban ALL of that stuff for teenagers! I know I was a bad driver when I was a kid, but at least I was driving on rural roads - by myself. The full carloads of kids I see now on the freeway really have no business doing what they do!
Besides, making it a "Pulloverable" offense is a load of crap. Faining to use your turn signal for lane changes / intersections is supposed to be a punishable offense, yet I see not just regular people but COPS doing it all the freakin' time!
How much does a dashboard camera cost? I'd love to film all the crooked crap I see the State Patrols doing every morning on the freeway - like 85 MPH with no lights -- and tailgating!! AAAARGH! - Sorry my road rage was coming out - gotta stop before my skin turns green. Kum-Bay-Yahhhhh :asleep:
16 year olds shouldn't be allowed to drive period. The driving age should be raised to 18 like most european countries. Most kids are just not mature enough at 16 to drive a car.
all sorts of fresh wood to burn; we lost a limb on our apple tree today. byob and dish to share! shoot the breeze live dammit!
now, as for the conversation at hand, i'm thinking a dr. evil-esque "lazer" (i.e., a rocket launcher) mounted on the roof of my car would go a long way towards removing a lot of the idiots from the roads that we need these laws for in the first place.
I still have a bundle of bottle rockets left from the 4th of July - my goal is to figure out a way to launch them all off in a group. Buying those 300-count 'Missile Command' bricks of bottle rockets is for sissies. I want to launch a whole gross of them at once - cheap red sticks and all.
Last night they had a re-rum of CSI: NY with the James Bond-like dude who got his skull fried by a car-mounted cutting laser beam. Cool stuff.
i'd say i know a place you could set them off at but a) our yard is so dry i'd rather not have the fire department show up and b) i just called the cops the other night on someone shooting bottle rockets off the bridge in the park towards the tinder that is the hay meadow out here.
We've got a low-income group housing area about 1/2 mile from our house. The kids have been shooting random fireworks off just about every night around 10:00 for the last two weeks. If I really wanted to, I'd go on the bike trail behind the houses and light 'em up. They can wait. I can wait.
I'd have to say the fire danger after the three soakers we got yesterday is probably pretty LOW.
FYI - Poker tables have been low the past 2 nights at the fair.. only filled 4 tables and I believe they have 6... Plenty of room for you card players..
Registration is a 6:00pm
There will be 2 games on Saturday - registration at 1:00 (i think) then again at 6:00
so yesterday I just get to work and open the car door and feel around with me feet for my shoes. NO SHOES!!!! OMG! I drove to work barefoot!!!!! I was thinking how I was gonna explain to my boss how I needed to drive home and why I would be late.... luckily I had a pair in the trunk.

Sounds like fun, but I'll be sitting pretty at the Ramsey County Fair, listening to Kurt Jorgensen and watchin the fireworks - Have fun!!
The Ramsey County Fair is finally here!!
Hope to see some Cooler Crew!
I'll be the tired looking red-head who looks like she's had too much sun.
you could head count, or just ask TC :pbpt:

Minnesota Statutes 169.475
Effective Date: August 1st, 2008
A Person may not use a wireless communications device, such as a cell phone, to compose, read, or send and electronic message while driving.
Electronic messages include E-mails, text messages, instant messages, and accessing the internet.
It IS a pulloverable offense - they do not need to have another reason to stop you.
It IS a moving violation and WILL go on your record.
The statute states exceptions:
Subd. 3. Exceptions. This section does not apply if a wireless communications device is used: (1) solely in a voice-activated or other hands-free mode; (2) for making a cellular phone call; (3) for obtaining emergency assistance to (i) report a traffic accident, medical emergency, or serious traffic hazard, or (ii) prevent a crime about to be committed; (4) in the reasonable belief that a person's life or safety is in immediate danger; or (5) in an authorized emergency vehicle while in the performance of official duties.
