I believe Worthy Matron is a title within the group just like Worshipful Master is the title for a leader of a Mason Lodge. It was probably a monument to women who had served as the head of the group.

Friends near me saw it two nights ago, and it will be visible here several more times this month. The sighting times and locations to look in the sky are very specific, and it is only visible for a few minutes.
