Hello all, just returned from CP. I've been lurking around the cooler for a few days now, but only posted a few times. I have been thinking more about the "wrong track" and "to and fro" in the clues alot. I thought maybe by the ball field - in/on the line to the bases. Right by annapolis. Maybe the sidewalk along Chippewa? The WHOLE place is so torn up, it's just unbelievable that no one has uncovered it yet.
Also. believe it or not, I drove home past Mounds to see probably 15-20 people still digging there.(!!)
also a man was on this morn said he was out sun night and a man next to him picked up an object an put it in his pocket and left quickly , that nigh was a posting that it had been found and he would turn it in on the 12 clue hopefully this is not true that would be assnine
feel it is in those bushes in the double divide very similar to the ones that it was last year not that dug up yet alot of loose snow but hard to manuver in the bushes
The spotter idea may be correct. When I was at cherokee yesterday I parked behind a guy that was sitting in his car. He was just sitting and staring out the window. I went out and looked for about 30min then came back to my car to call the fiance and he was still there staring. I went back for about another 30min. Came back, still there. Maybe he was just there for kicks or was cold or something. I never thought he may be watching the medallion. If you go to Cherokee look for a guy in a bluish (maybe brown or black--colorblind) buick 4-door. He was parked along Chippewa just down from Page St.
the man that picked up the object sun night found it right near the edge of the playground matches with the clues it is possible that some jackass is holding it and its burning up his pocket
Best time to spot a spotter is at 4:30 in the morning when only the spotter is left at the park. Also, maybe look for an older person with no digging tools who is sitting in a parked car and who looks like he or she is scared every time you make a move in an area where you think the medallion is hidden. Maybe they'll have a camera ready to take your picture when you find it.
Maybe if this guy found it, he lost it again - why would you wait to turn it in? If its true, I will be ticked. Just think about how much time people have been spending on this.
When I was at CP around noon, there was this man walking around with NO tools, no shovel or rake, nothing. Just walking aroung on top of the sledding hill. I didn't pay much attention to him at first, thought maybe he was with his kid or something. But he was all alone. Weird.
dont think it pays to hammer away on the ice im sure the medallion or what it is in is visible maybe partially burried otherwise they might as well throw it in a hockey rink let it freeze and tell us where it is it would still take a couple of days to find it , ill shut up now just babbling a bit , a litlle frustrated i think
My dad talked to a guy at a grocery store. He saw them hide the medallion one year, but didn't realized that's what the man was doing until he read that the med. was found at that park. There wasn't much snow that year, so he just kicked some dirt over it. It snowed later on that week and the snow covered the med. Talk about a lost opportunity. He could have found the med. on clue 1 and made history!
There are 2 constants every year whenever the hunt goes this long: 1) Some evil person found it already and is waiting to turn it in, just to make all of us suffer and, 2) there is some sinister looking person who keeps an eye on the treasure hunters watching every move.
This is reality people, there is no boogeyman and whoever finds it will turn it in immediately.
Maybe we should send a couple of the boys around to "talk" to these dangerous loners. Find out what their doin' -- hanging out around a park. Alone sometimes even. With no digging tools. No hoes, no shovels, nuthin!! Hmmph. We can make them talk....
An anagram means you can rearrange the letters of the word to form another word. Example: Cape and whip rearranged is Chippewa. demo and mode rearranged each give us dome.
Another myth is the paper waits until the last couple clues to bury it to sell more papers...any one else have any medallion folklore they'd be willing to share?
Wallflower, it's funny that you saw praytell, because "aspire" unscrambled gives you "praise". This makes reference to the Church on Annapolis and Cherokee St., if "a spire" already doesn't.
Was anyone else at the Pioneer Press building last night? If not, then
I have a little story for you. I was about the 15th person in line and at
about 10:55, five minutes before the paper comes out, some 40ish
guy pulls up in a white station wagon and stumbles to the front of the
line. He then ask's the people in the front of the line if this is the place where you turn the medallion in if you found it. The people said yes and he was then buzzed in. He hard a hard time getting the door
open because he was obviously intoxicated. After about 3 or 4 minutes the man emerged from the building and drove around the block. While he was driving around the block, a worker from the Press came out and said that the man claims to be part of a group that found the medallion and that the people with the medallion were
on there way. After the Press worker went back inside, we saw the
man in the station wagon pull into the bank parking lot across the street. After he got out of his car, he walked back over to us and went inside the Press building again. At this point, it was about 11:10
and everybody was getting impatient. The man then headed back to his car but stopped and talked to some people in a truck. The Press worker then came out of the building and said that we could all come in and get a paper now if we wish, but that it could be a big waste of
time since this man claims it has been found. After my group got a paper, we decided to drive back to the man in the white station wagon. When we got there, he was getting in his car, but gladly
came over and talked to us. When we asked him what it was found
in, he hesitantly said a pop can. We then drove off not believing this fool and headed to Cherokee. I can't believe what some people will
Take heed of the Pioneer Press Operatives. They will be out there tonight. I was digging 3 ft from the medallion last year 12am, last clue,(didn't find it) when a bearded man started hovering around the area. Offered me a doughnut. He had no shovel or anything for that matter to dig with. He stayed in the vicinity for hours.

Talk about those close calls...I was out with MoonMan last night and he kicked a hunk of snow and IT RATTLED!!! He picked it up...a beer can...with a chunck of frozen beer in it. Must have belonged to that guy....
was looking around up at the "double divide" last night.....
Would the PP send someone to check on it periodically?

Pocket - Hi! How've you been? Have you been digging up CP lately? Thinking about going after work, assuming its not found between now and then.
I heard that the PP has a spotter watch the medallion at all times. That way they know if the medallion has been found. Just look for the spotter.
They hide it at the beginning that is why it has been found before sometimes as early as the 7th clue.

Was at cp last night. Lots of people were just standing around. How are you going to spot a spotter?

brian...what is it an anagram of, praytell? ;-)

do to try and be funny. Sorry this was so long.
The only anagram I can come up with is "praise" - are there more?
