Ive got my raiders jacket, black snowpants and white boots-- we must coordinate!!! i may just wear my green ski jacket with purple and pink sleeves-- draw some attention to myself or prevent my boyfriend from loosing me again and making me walk home !!!!
Has anyone theorized that the "cape and whip" clue might mean the medallion is hidden in an animal crackers box? The box has a circus ringmaster on it wearing a cape and holding a whip--I think.
That's the only thing I could think of as I drove in the parade from the PP to CP last night.
Good afternoon all! Just read through the past 200 or so posts trying to get a grip on last nites clue. The whip + cape = chippewa thing looks good but we already know it is at cherokee and telling us a name of a street that runs along the park just doesn't make sense. No one has made reference to the statue on top of the capital bldg. The man leading the horses is wearing a cape and has a whip. Could this mean that you do or perhaps do not ,since it says "not good attire" or whatever (don't have clues in front of me), have to be able to see the capital bldg from where the medallion is at? Any insight?
I think the only meaning to Cape and Whip is Chippewa. Kind of a lame clue. I was out this morning for a while, and there is a lot of ground not dug up yet. Lots of work!! Are there really only 2 clues left?
Todays's clue Cape and Whip rearannged spell out Chippewa. This helps to place the treasure between Cherokee blvd and Chippewa st. maybe the ball field at the south end of the park which is the intersection of cherokee and chippewa. Or at the other end of the park where Cherokee blvd and Chippewa st intersect.
youngster--cherokee and chippewa do not intersect at the south end of the park, but they do intersect @ the north end- they both intersect with annapolis on the south end-- at the bottom of the sliding hill, you cannot see the bathrooms- they are only visible to the top 1/4 of the hill if even that much.... i think its in the north end of the park-- on the west side of cherokee
The PP should sell "medallion hunter" t-shirts, sweatshirts, or hats and have the proceeds go towards and added bonus for the medallion finder. I think alot of people would buy them and it would give more incentive (if any is needed) to hunt for the medallion.
ybnormal -- there was talk of "immeasurable" referring to earl street over at Mound Park, and "dough" referring to Baker street near Cherokee park, so ultimately who knows what the heck it means? What else is immeasurable? (it was an earl, immeasurable wealth) Does anyone know what other streets are over there that it could be? Maybe it's referring to a landmark you can see from where the medallion is???
Deb -- I wonder about the street thing. the clue says "where three pyramids rise over the snow." Could the medallion be at the BOTTEM of the hill? As you walk up the hill, the pyramids rise over the snow. The street clues point toward the bottem, where chip & chero meet Annapolis. What do you think?
Ybnormal, I doubt that immeasureable and dough mean anything. Ususally the clues only hold one piece of information and the rest is just filler for the rhyme. Although, last night's clue possibly being both Chippewa and that the med is in a cool whip container might pan out to be true.
Sherlock, I'm with you about the pyramids coming over the snow as you walk up the hill. That's where I've been concentrating my efforts. But it's really raked over. There's obviously something we don't know yet. Maybe tonight will tell us.
SHERLOCK- I think you have to be able to see it over the snow where the stupid medallion is-- what about the cement pyramid things over the picnic tables at the park??? could those be the pyramids or are we certain (are we ever certain :0) ) that they are the bathrooms--
Deb actually that is the middle of the park the park extends NE of Smith, and that area has not been dug up much. The snow is much easier to shovel because it hasn"t been trampled. I think the med.s most like in the center of the park, by the chippewa, cher point.
ok - there is a foundation of a building on the west side of cherokee that is right by the cliff-- does anyone know what that is or was??? i was there last night and everything was there!!!! it seemed too perfect, but it was really dark and with all the HAPPY POP i had i was afraid of rolling down the hill!!!! there is 2 more smoke stacks there too , but they dont function ( i dont think)
new daddy-- i totally agree with you, but it is really hard to see all that you need to see from that point, do you think the running - track thing is the streets????? city streets will lead you there-- i will be there tonite, there are lots of leaves under the snow there and you need to make sure to bring lots of light and good eyes!!!! that may be part of the problem!!!
So...who else is stuck at work just ITCHING for the end of the day?! I'm pretty sure that I have the clues, but I'm also pretty sure that they don't narrow anything down (ie..just guide you to the park itself). Thanks for sharing ideas with the first time hunters! Go Coolerheads ;-)
ok- on cherokee the west side ( toward the river ) right by the cliffs- there is a foundation of a building-- it is on a little lookout right straight between the bathrooms and the "other" smoke stack. this description probably doesnt help much--SORRY!! HEY LETS LOOK FOR THE BUILDING AND LET ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE LOOK FOR THE MEDALLION!!!!
Deb, and scream "we found it, we found it!" when we find the foundation. Although, that's probably not good for our health. I can just see a rush of people all falling over the cliff from shear momentum of them running toward us!
don't i know it!!!! i don't get out of here until 7 aarrrrggghhh!
Hey ...i haven't personally come across this but I've had other hunters tell me that people are getting a little testy out there. Not even sharing the printed clues. what's up with that?!
heres an idea-- im looking at a hudson map--cherokee kind of does an "S" thing right after the intersection with chippewa, could that be the :YOU DONT NEED TO WANDER TO AND FRO????? look right by the intersection of chippewa and cherokee!!!!!
well i havent been able to match any thing with that except the swing theory, my thought is basically, dont go around the curves, stay on the straight and narrow, either before or after the curves in cherokee??
Deb & SueBee -- I'll holler if ya'll will! ;) If people ARE indeed getting a little testy, maybe that will help to lighten things up?? okay, okay, probably not. But we would be laughing because we will know that we're referring to the foundation thing, not the medallion-thing!
John W-- there are several(read lots) of evergreen trees at the park. Don't know what kind they are. Got an idea?
Ive got my raiders jacket, black snowpants and white boots-- we must coordinate!!! i may just wear my green ski jacket with purple and pink sleeves-- draw some attention to myself or prevent my boyfriend from loosing me again and making me walk home !!!!
does cherokee parks live in st.paul?
yes it does-- that is the double division line-- annapolis- st paul and west st paul...
Has anyone theorized that the "cape and whip" clue might mean the medallion is hidden in an animal crackers box? The box has a circus ringmaster on it wearing a cape and holding a whip--I think.

That or some link to Zorro. Hmmm....
See Y'all tonight.

Do they ever release the name(s) of the person(people) that write the clues?

Does anyone have any ideas on "immeasureable" or "dough" what they could possibly mean? Haven't seen any ideas on these.

Sherlock, the medallion could be anywhere that you can see the pyramids. Even if you're standing next to them, they are "rising above the snow"
Clue 9 "unlock" any key reference? Or "fore" golf course maybe?
And who is the "person who runs a committee"
Sherlock, I'm with you about the pyramids coming over the snow as you walk up the hill. That's where I've been concentrating my efforts. But it's really raked over. There's obviously something we don't know yet. Maybe tonight will tell us.

jc, unlock = key, committee = chair Chair-o-key = Cherokee park!

What are the pyramids? How about "aspire"? And what about "pace" or "race"

It's fun to see everyone's strategy about where the exact location is. It runs the gamut from one end of CP to the other. Neat. I wonder who's right?
Where exactly are you talking about Deb?
Hey, J. Warling! Do you work at St Johns?
I'm wondering if the "fore" could mean four paces from something. Unless there is only one clue in each rhyme
Did anyone check their butt?
does anyone know if there is a path near Chippewa st?
new daddy-- i totally agree with you, but it is really hard to see all that you need to see from that point, do you think the running - track thing is the streets????? city streets will lead you there-- i will be there tonite, there are lots of leaves under the snow there and you need to make sure to bring lots of light and good eyes!!!! that may be part of the problem!!!
Oh good, another wise ass. We need more of those kinds of comments on here. Surprised you don't have a giant graphic to go along with the name.
So...who else is stuck at work just ITCHING for the end of the day?! I'm pretty sure that I have the clues, but I'm also pretty sure that they don't narrow anything down (ie..just guide you to the park itself). Thanks for sharing ideas with the first time hunters! Go Coolerheads ;-)
wallie
Sorry, Shady, that wasn't very nice of me.
ok- on cherokee the west side ( toward the river ) right by the cliffs- there is a foundation of a building-- it is on a little lookout right straight between the bathrooms and the "other" smoke stack. this description probably doesnt help much--SORRY!! HEY LETS LOOK FOR THE BUILDING AND LET ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE LOOK FOR THE MEDALLION!!!!
Wallie, ME, ME! I wanna get out and hunt when it's light outside. This digging in the dark thing stinks!
I think "aspire" refers to church spire just down the block on annapolis street. Could it refer to anything else?
Deb, and scream "we found it, we found it!" when we find the foundation. Although, that's probably not good for our health. I can just see a rush of people all falling over the cliff from shear momentum of them running toward us!
Thats it I'm out of work to look for the Medallion. See you all at CP!!
don't i know it!!!! i don't get out of here until 7 aarrrrggghhh!

And I'm for sure going to find that foundation!!!!
I don't get the to and fro thing Deb
suebee--- that would be AWESOME!!!! wanna try it??? i think ill be out at cp at 7:00 or so, where you gonna be?????
JC...say hi to cherokee parks while you're out there!
well i havent been able to match any thing with that except the swing theory, my thought is basically, dont go around the curves, stay on the straight and narrow, either before or after the curves in cherokee??
Deb, a bit of a stretch, maybe. Also, weren't people earlier saying the "tip" where Cherokee and Chippewa meet was dug to oblivion?
We are all going to be at the foundation, drinking beer and celebrating after I find the medallion, drinks on me!!!
Deb & SueBee -- I'll holler if ya'll will! ;) If people ARE indeed getting a little testy, maybe that will help to lighten things up?? okay, okay, probably not. But we would be laughing because we will know that we're referring to the foundation thing, not the medallion-thing!
