Deb, I'm not sure where I'll go tonight seeing as the top of the sliding hill is chopped to h-e double hockey sticks. My boyfriend and I will probably be out there somewhere though. I'll be wearing a black Spider ski jacket with a bit of red and teal and a red ear band. I'll watch for you. Maybe I'll go to the Cherokee side of the hill tonight (closer to the river). I'm afraid we wouldn't survive a prank like that, especially if it's true they're getting testy!

Catch 22 - I think you're right on the Annapolis / "Spire" idea! Why are you guys talking about a foundation?

Heck, we should all do like last night, wear some common clothing as a sign of being a cooler-head.

im sitting at my desk ignoring all my customers... i stole the hudson from the guys in the shipping dept.. the foundation thing has a place (it looks like for a fire) we can have a weenie roast!!!!! ill bring the weenies!!!!! we could all get thrown in jail for building a fire, or we could set the park on fire, melt all the snow and make it a free for all!!!!!

You know, the thought just occured to me -- I wonder how many different businesses are represented by those who stop by the Water Cooler? Just think of all the business that we're procrastinating in doing! Because, I too, am kind of ignoring my customers (just don't tell my manager!).

Call the dept of parks and recs and they can tell you what that building used to be.

I hope you people all realize that everything in Cherokee Park has been dug up. Somehow I doubt it could be there.

Gee Salacious, interesting URL that Toby's page links to. I don't think I'll click on it :P

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:16 PM Permalink
Sherlock

Okay, okay - Salacious is just someone else who thinks he's really funny. If you hold your cursor over the URL link he gave us, you'll see what I mean. Going to that website is a waste of time.

Hello all. Anybody think that the med is hidden by the backstop in the part of CP that is on the other side of Smith? everywhere else has been dug over 8 times!

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:17 PM Permalink
Catch 22

Troy, do I remember you from such films as "Medallion, $3000 worth of plastic" and "Clueless-Pioneer Press Medallion Hunt"

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:18 PM Permalink
A. Metal Detective

Why do you think its the backstop? Cause its only been dug up 5 times? :)

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:18 PM Permalink
John Warling

Does CP go all the way down to the river.(Water Street)?

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:20 PM Permalink
SueBee

Troy - oh it's out there in CP, it's just a matter of who gets through the ice in the right spot first..

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:20 PM Permalink
John Warling

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:22 PM Permalink
Deb Speidel

by the way, the back stop is not on the other side of smith....

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:22 PM Permalink
Itsinmypocket

Has it? Hmmmmmm.... well, some clue said 'back' in it. I haven't been here for a while, so where do we all think it is? Still CP. It has to be.

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:22 PM Permalink
Deb Speidel

no, down below the bluffs by water street is Harriet Island

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:24 PM Permalink
Itsinmypocket

Yes it is Deb. Not the one by the sledding hill, the one by the high bridge near ohio st. hill

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:24 PM Permalink
Deb Speidel

my theory about the "back" thing is that it talks about the smoke stack and then you will be back and the next clue talks about the pyramids-- i think the smoke stack is to your back when you are looking at the bathrooms-- like in the north end of the park..

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:26 PM Permalink
John Warling

No Deb. Further down than that on the south side of the road.

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:27 PM Permalink
Holly Wood

Does anyone think the "we dont't rec. such attire" s/b pointing hunters AWAY from Chippewa???

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:28 PM Permalink
Itsinmypocket

I personnaly dug up the place by the batrooms w/the three 7s on it at least 3 times. But it still could be on the sidewalk.

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:28 PM Permalink
A. Metal Detective

Yes Deb, but it could also be considered "filler". Just a word that rhymes with stack. The problem is that these clues are ambiguous at times, and you don't know what you should focus on, and what just may be words with no meaning.

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:28 PM Permalink
Troy Mclure

Would you all like to know where I think it is? Well, I say it's at Harriet Island. Harriet's first name was "Rose", and Harriet Island used to a zoo. (Cape and Whip)

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:29 PM Permalink
Sherlock

Well, then what do all of you think about a "rosebud" still giving pleasure? that one's really got me, unless it's referring to the Altoid can thing.

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:29 PM Permalink
Itsinmypocket

Is Baker a playground or a park? It easily could be there. Its right by CHAIRoKEY heights school.

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:30 PM Permalink
ybnormal

altoids has a picture of a mint bush not a rose bush

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:31 PM Permalink
Deb Speidel

ok, i know where you are talking about, and that is still cherokee park, now the view from there is awesome!!!!! you will be back-- that is where people go yearly for the fireworks since it is such a clear view of the capital!!! but from there what is the 3 pyramids???? the domes could be the arches in the robert street bridge!!! and trapsing across the city could be the high bridge and the robert street bridge--good thought!!!!!

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:31 PM Permalink
Mike Flynn

Can you see the pyramids from the corner where Cherokee and Chippewa meet????Cause then debs theory would work with mine cause then your back will be facing the Smokestack....And todays clue refers to Chippewa and yesterdays refers to Cherokee!

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:31 PM Permalink
Catch 22

"Rosebud" has been analyzed to death. It means the sled in Citizen Kane that is all nothing more nothing less!

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:32 PM Permalink
A. Metal Detective

Deb, where is the ball field in relation to Smith Ave?

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:33 PM Permalink
Troy Mclure

Baker is a Rec-Center, not a park, sorry about that one.

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:33 PM Permalink
Deb Speidel

tried that baker park thing already, i was told that baker was just a playground not a public park-- i went up there to look around a it had been dug up a very little-- and everything else fit except for the pyramid thing-- and that i suspected the 3 backstops in each corner of the field--

Does everything in the clues need to be seen at the same time?

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:34 PM Permalink
Itsinmypocket

I'll believe that from anyone but you and Joe M, Troy.

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:35 PM Permalink
SueBee

Holly, that's my theory about the "we don't recommend such attire" - it's not on the Chippewa St. side. But who knows. Could be filler again.

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:35 PM Permalink
Mike Flynn

Yea I am sure that you need to see everything cause the place where the medallion you should be able to see everything mentioned.

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:37 PM Permalink

Loving the new picture, Ian. You always have something good to say, whats the new news?

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 1:37 PM Permalink
Troy Mclure

Yes, Ian you have to see it or it has to be vert close to the spot.
