Sax-man: I'm quite proud you now consider me a "regular" as days ago I think you wrang your hands in frustration over me!!! Be that as it may, I'm very proud you DO consider me a regular now.

Colors? PLEASE... NOT BLUE even tho water is blue!!! I HATE BLUE!!! (pouting) Something green... YEA!! (I only wear green!)

Guess to be fair... outta ask the Cooler Sponges that hang out here so much. Ssssshhhheeeesssssh. Sometimes I *don't* like a democracy! <g>

Wow, Charlie, youz one mean mutha. Got the "F" bomb out and everything. It's a little slow right now, that's all. We're just shooting the breeze and waiting for others to get back from Cherokee. I was out digging all weekend but had to get back to Milwaukee by Monday. The best I have is an e-shovel at the moment, so please chill.

greenslvs2: did Casey and/or Press really contact you about the apparel idea?

Nope. Not yet... Still pushing it from a grassroots (encased in mud???) level.

Hope SOMEBODY does. This is BIG!!!!!! I'd LOVE to be a part of it!!! Greg, don't you think it's the greatest idea???? I just can't believe somebody didn't think of this before!!!!

Still here, burning the midnite oil... Too guilty to go to bed while my eyes/ears/legs/arms and shovel were doing all my dirty work. From your calm demeanor... I figure we're bust... BUT I WAS RITE, WASN'T I??????

Brian: Animal cracker box? What the ...? Please explain. Earlier we got "Chippewa" from combination of letters from "cape" and "whip." New Daddy was the first to suggest it. Good stuff. By the way, Brian, your representative image has never come in on my 'puter. Just thought you should know.

C: I will finish this cig and then i'm going to bed. I cannot go on... I really don't know how I'm going to make it thru tomorrow... Oh!!! Crap!! Gotta bowl tomorrow nite!!! Well, don't think I'll be there. Water Cooler Heads just gotta Prevail!!!

Why, why, WHY did I ever read that damn clue and get interested in this????? I went over ten years w/o being involved in this stuff. (sigh) And it's like showing [cats]. Once bitten, there's no going back. Man!

Well, this coming year will give me time to study all the parks, etc.

I'm still here.....hip,tip,attire, aspire driving me CRAZY!

Anyone else out at the tip of Chippewa, Cherokee Blvd, and Baker after last clue tonight?????

not sure we came back at 11pm to see the next clue and havent left home since, but thinking of going back out there.

if i do go back out there im not even sure where to start digging anymore all these clues got me going in circles.

Close but so Far

Cheryl, I don't think it is at that tip. I just got back from CP and there was about 30 people in that area. If it was there somebody would have found it.

Green, I'll call you tomorrow....Gesh, it is so late, I couldn't remember if I spelled tomorrow right. That is very bad. Good thing I'm not operating any heavy equipment right now......

Hey ITSINMY..., think you may still have a chance tonight. Good-luck. Probably won't see you, I won't be there until after the clue. Unless of course you find it.

One last observation, it is amazing the different types of people out there tonight. There are some that you can talk to while you're working in the "cold mine" *hehe*, others look through you as if you weren't there. I have seen that type of look other places, they either have that casino-glazed-eye thing going, or they're from an unfriendly place -- Couldn't be Coolers or St. Paulites or even MN Nicers...

But, all-in-all, it is truly a kick! :)

Sorry Casey the postings were kind of slowing down.

Close..., my better-half and I were clearing the sidewalk too. Near the end of the tip. By 2:00, most of the people were just standing around.

You are right, if it is at the tip, we all missed it...

Each time a new clue comes out I think it is going to help out, and I think I just get more confused every time.

Matt, were you at the tip?

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 2:43 AM Permalink
Cheryl Straight

Close, I agree. The clues seem to be circular at times.

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 2:44 AM Permalink
Matt

Let's see. Well, I do believe that there's a nearly unanimous decision as to where the doohickey is, but it's still a broad running as to where in the park people believe it to be. I've got my area cordoned off, others, well, have their own, which I believe to sometimes be ludicrous. Right now, it seems to be a luck search more than anything else. Nobody's going to find it without light. And even come morning, unless people research the piles and piles of dreck they've turned, and even so, it's still going to be luck until there's a more definate clue as to what it's in and where exactly it is.

Close but so Far

Does anyone think the next clue might actually shrink the coverage area of the park? At the rate this thing is going, no one is going to find it. I wouldn't be surprised if the last clue didn't give the exact location like it is supposed to.

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 2:46 AM Permalink
Matt

I'd searched the tip around twice before the clue came out. Alas, even after I found the word 'tip' in the tenth clue, I didn't go back. It doesn't make any sense, you're way off track with all of the other clues when you're that far away from them, in my opinion.

YAHTZEE!!!!!! I believe they will give us the exact location of where the thingy is, on the last clue. But until then there going to make us suffer.

Just got back from the cape at the tip of chair-a-key. The tip is devastated along with my back. I'm having a hard time staying away from Chippewa. Maybe across the street? The clues are very clever this year as always. I think the next clue will name a cross street, gawd I hope!

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 2:50 AM Permalink
Cheryl Straight

I hear you. But tip was as specific as they have gotten.

Tue, 02/03/1998 - 2:50 AM Permalink

I think they buried it and ran it over so now it is under a tire track.

Well, all the clues now seem to make a nice outline around Cherokee Park. The clues hereafter might simply be a "line this up with this," (deciphering a riddle or two is expected, of course) or a "go this far from this, put your feet behind your ears, and jump,"

I personally don't think they're going to give a location down to the degree, minute, and second. You'd have people literally fighting over the correct spot from presstime onward. Too much of a health risk.

Gotta go, 6:00 comes early. Finally wound down enough to go to sleep. Good-luck to you all. :)

You can't take every clue to be an exact truth, that'd be assinine and closed-minded. The tip is gone from the perhaps list, in my mind, I've explained why. Oh well, we'll just have to see who walks off with a few grand worth of plastic in the next few days. :)

someone help me out please. i thought when they gave a clue, only one clue comes out of it, am i right?

Methinks that it'd behoove everyone to take a stroll as soon as it's light enough to see white on white. If then, it isn't found within the dawn-noon hours, take a break until the next clue is released.

Me, I'm going to go rent a rototiller and a backhoe.

I chuckle to everyone who messed their pants over 'tip'. It's not there, I tell ya. :)

I heard rumor that many dashed off to some park called Baker after the clue came out. Also, there are still people at Mounds, if you can believe that. I'm thinking the Cool Whip tub is what the medallion is in though.

This webboard is rather snazzy, I'm going to have to email the sysop and find out where they got it/if they'd release the soft if they wrote it. Really innovative, with the quick-edit stuff.

Testing...

<continuing> Although it is a little primitive in security techniques, but that's still cool, honestywise. Could easily have people download a self-extracting virus. :P Anyway, back to the hunt... Anyone have any revelations besides the obvious?

I am COLD but still have not found this thing. CP is a lock but I am getting tired of stomping around in the snow. Does anybody know if the medallion has never not been found?

Chippewa and Annapolis would be a good place to look. That's is really close to the line of double division.
