1999 Pioneer Press Medallion Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

Brew man,.....could the 5 be in reference to highway 5 that runs just north of the park?

DaBrew Man: Is the gas station sign the one across the freeway? The Conoco sign? I've theorized that there's some relation between the Conoco sign and

"iconoclast" but most people think its too much of a stretch. In any event, it sure hasn't gotten me any closer to finding that little blue puck!

It was great just being out there tonight, watching the lemmings head for the hockey rinks. There actually was still some diggable snow there when I left. I'm just too

tired to try to dig any of it anymore tonight!!!

Good luck everybuddy! Please find it soon and put the rest of us out of our misery!

was thinking it could've been indoors, thus the iconoclast. Also thought maybe the 9, 5, somewhere 4 might have been hours. told you I'm going crazy!

Allison: I stood in line for an hour to get a paper. I have it right in front of me. Its a typo in one place or the other but who knows which? It definitely says "PLACES"

boy i`m so tired i forgot the c in conway sorry

Hi Allison! I just got back from Conway a little while ago. Wouldn't it be something if "places" was the right word, instead of "planes"? It would shed a whole new

light on tonight's clue!

Wed, 02/03/1999 - 2:12 AM Permalink
cherokee98

think we can ask the sysop about the typo?

Wed, 02/03/1999 - 2:13 AM Permalink
pooh

places or planes ,makes a difference places could mean on hill also, planes means it has to be flat surface

Wed, 02/03/1999 - 2:13 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

It must be the internet because planes makes no sense to me. If it is plane, it would have to be the hockey rink, yet, like I said, none of them are the same size. If it

places, that is much more consistent with the general vagueness of this years clues and means its not at the hockey rinks (necessarily).

coolers... search aMID the snow and ice tells you to stay in the middle of two equal areas

Wed, 02/03/1999 - 2:14 AM Permalink
DaBrewMan

Planes as in Geometry are areas of squares

For those who don't know yet, Conway is on the east side, slightly north of I-94, between Ruth St. and Howard St.

DaBrewMan

A smile and niceness means more to me than any amount of money

Wed, 02/03/1999 - 2:17 AM Permalink

if it is equal planes it can only be the baseballfields or the tenniscourts if it iis equal places it could be anything but it still would not include the icerinks because they

are not of equal size

DAYTON'S BLUFF 790 CONWAY?????????????

Wed, 02/03/1999 - 2:17 AM Permalink

So what if it is places instead of planes? Any ideas on what that would be? That means we can't eliminate the hills after all.

Wed, 02/03/1999 - 2:17 AM Permalink
DaBrewMan

better yet I would buy new trees for the park if I found the med afterall the hunters did to them

Wed, 02/03/1999 - 2:18 AM Permalink

Interesting point Black Sabbath Guy, but I don't know anything about that area. Is it a park? Does fit the other clues?

Every year we go to a small park(Linwood last year), and it's never there! So this year we said we would not fall for that! Of course it will be at one this time, just

because! And yes they have been very vague this year! Think it has something to do with that 10,000? Nah!

Places, not planes? Then it would have to be NEWELL!

Wed, 02/03/1999 - 2:20 AM Permalink
pooh

places would include hills but it still says equal. planes means a flat surface, such as the tenniscourts or the base ballfields

Wed, 02/03/1999 - 2:20 AM Permalink
DaBrewMan

Planes ... example ; half of a whole tennis court half of a whole park and the clue tonight says look a(MIDDLE) amid the snow and ice find the dividing line of two

equal areas
