Clue #1
I thought of a great tune that has stuck in my head all day.
The words go something like this...'Living on the edge'

ANSWER
This was a double meaning clue
Livin' on the edge' refers to
the song by AeroSMITH ST.
& edge-CLIFF ST.

Clue #2
Platteville bedrock sounds old
but could be new.
designed by Two or more
I'll be sitting.
'I'll be watching you'

ANSWER
This had a ton of history/info in it

Platteville is a form of limestone bedrock that surrounds the flowerbed in this park and runs along this area of the Mississippi River.

It is a new park (thats why Marley is gonna kill me-really :()

I'll be sitting-in the big green chair deigned by 'Two or more Inc.

I'll be watching= The sculpture in the park named THE WATCHER

CLUE #3

Question: "if your friend jumps off a bridge would you follow him"?

Answer: YES you would (but only if a cyclone were coming)

ANSWER
In 1904 a cyclone/fast winds took out part of the Smith St High Bridge.

Clue #4

from the spot we're thinking
little italy floods were quite a sight
but the spots tranquil and serene
during the day and late at night.

ANSWER>
Little Italy is below the High Bridge
you can see it by litteraly looking down from this park
Tranquil and serene = PEACE

ANSWER= PEACE PARK

Nite LL, Scd's!

Ter- Are they finished tomorrow, or are they gonna be there next week too? Hopefully they don't take up too much valuable hunting time!

Thu, 01/16/2003 - 9:01 PM Permalink
Artemis The Huntress

That wasn't the one Marley was thinking of, his secrets are still safe ;)

Thu, 01/16/2003 - 9:04 PM Permalink
Terry

Artemis - They are scheduled to be there till the 31st. They said they thought they would be done early as things are going rather smoothly...but I don't have a clue what early means. I am mightily fearful that they are going to eat heavily into daylight hunting.

This audit only happens every two years, but they were a month later this time around than they usually have been in the past.

Peace Park isn't all that new.

Thu, 01/16/2003 - 9:04 PM Permalink
ares

It is a newer park though- it originally was to be made a flower bed, taken care of by a garden society then the flowers died cause the soil was bad and some sewer work had to be done in the area so the city used the limestone to design the park now.

Ok, time for some practice. Name the following parks, each clue is for a different park:

This little piggy stayed home, this little piggy did roam
And if you use geometry as your form of math
These two points will determine where you should comb
If first you follow along their little piggy path.

Maybe it's not the law, but it's good advice, ya
Reading between the lines is often the right key
Don't let what is there though put you in Bogata
Let instead bookends be the rule to what you see

There will be no remorse if you stay on course,
But don't think I'm trying to be directoral.
You can't pass in this park without force,
And don't mistake it for one that's electoral.

Once upon a time in this little rhyme
There was a man who always stood with legs spread.
"If you put them together would it be a crime?"
"I lean wide, a little problem of mine," he said.

If you want the pleasure of finding the treasure
Then you're going to have to make use of your melon
You can make the journey at your own leisure
But you're going to need to seek the path of the felon.

In the meantime I'm just going to make some random posts here so that if someone comes along and solves them right away, the answers won't necessarily appear on the same page as the clues and thereby end up spoiling it.

Hey, it is only 48 hours until the start of the hunt. Almost scary to think it's so close.

So I never heard Me2 say if her 44 fascination was related to my IV IV clue in the Mock Hunt?

Thu, 01/16/2003 - 11:21 PM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

I wonder if it's already out there?

Thu, 01/16/2003 - 11:22 PM Permalink

aw, me2 and i were discussing it last night and we figure you're probably right that that's where her 44 fascination comes from. you should also know that in researching the past we found a couple of lessons for you. she was so excited about 'em, so i'll wait and let her tell ya what it was we found.

I got a message from kids with the correct answers to all 5 of them, so I know all 5 are solvable. Otherwise Marydale is correct for #2 and Eileen Wieda is correct for #4.

no, but we did find a way to shoot down a stongly held theory of yours regarding the hunt.

Hehe very good ares me2! Nope, art is right that was not the park I was thinking. Those clues DO however fit a few other NEW parks to! wow

aw, is #5 Phalen?

Fri, 01/17/2003 - 7:17 AM Permalink

And which theory would that be? And no, I'm afraid #5 is not Phalen.

Fri, 01/17/2003 - 7:21 AM Permalink

and don't worry, marley. when we do our own mock hunt, we certainly won't make the clues *that* difficult. mostly because they won't be written on the last second to get them posted :)
