This hunt is frustrating me. It's a lot like last year where each clue makes you think a different park. Yet I can't get all the clues to fit any one of those parks. I'm stubborn so I still like Swede (though this last clue won't fit) and I keep telling myself not to jump on Phalen, or Como just cause the clue of the day says to.
Anyone been out hunting today? It's so nice outside, yet, I cannot bring myself to make the drive from Hudson to ??? I'm just not sold on one park, yet. This is becoming very reminiscent of last year's hunt. If you've been out, where have the crowds been or are there no crowds since they're all as confused as I am?
So I'm in my secret all alone park today, and I am following the only set of tracks and it has 1/2 inch of snow covering, so I figure a few days ago. I spot where these tracks lead up to a tree...and it appears a rake was used to cover this small detour of the path. There, a chunch of bark is awkwardly pressed against a tree.
I lift the bark, and I see a lid to a container. The lid, by the way, has a small all white flake attached, like is on all of our buttons. I stood up, lit a cigarrette, "this is the year" I thought.
I reached down, to claim my prize.
I don't know who you geo-cachers are, but that was just uncalled for!
I found a prize of sorts, now I suppose I've gotta go put the damned thing back!
I'm wondering... If Millett wrote these Clues will we have to line things up like days of yore? Or just have to take notice of them until the final clue and run for the Puck like we have for more years than i want to count?
I would like it if these actually added up to lining things up and using some brains to pinpoint a location. I can't stand rushing out with the last couple clues and just mad-diggin a spot... I have a feeling it wont come down to the last two clues this year, I'm thinkin by 9 or 10 it'll be found. By me of course
Ha! LOL!!! Not if you're not in Chair-O-Key, NegNumber!
I'm wondering if I can line up Xcel and the jail - and would Palace Royale be in that line or further east? - the Tot Lot (I'm pretty sure they've got the tower-thighy and the bouncey animals), and the native prairie.
Though maybe I only have to line up some o'them and the rest are just references to get you closer to the park.
OK green so let's discuss Chair-O-Key then, shall we?
1st clue "now at rest" anagrams to "on Water St" - the only viable anagram I've seen posted yet
"Water and Ice" - Water St. and Curtice St.
"glorious" = "joy" ave.? possible
Everything we see was done naturally - Bruce Vento Nature Scenic Overlook at Cherokee
Sports - tennis, basketball, etc
beasts exposed - going by the logic of past hunts and clues, this could be referring to the Nature overlook, where I'm sure you could find beasts exposed somewhere
detention - jail seen from Cherokee? you could see the old jail, but I don't know about the new one
I know I'm missing some things, this is just off the top of my head
Have you been out today? I know it's supposed to get cold but what's a clueless hunter supposed to do? I can't be running around every park that I can make fit.
Nice site I stumbled across, don't know if it's been posted before or not... let's you go all along the river and gives info on everything from the parks, to the bridges, to the restaurants... not too much on Cherokee but I found some other interesting stuff on there.
"All we see was done naturally" = Chair-O-Key Prairie, very near your overlook, I think
"... harbor of impressive arbor" = Park with a really big cave - like Castle Royale at the foot of the cliffs "... this harbor" being used as a noun
"detention and convention" = the Xcel Center and the new jail by the bridge - Wabasha Street Bridge?
And today's Clue talks about a Tot Lot: "sweet land of fun and frolic" where kids will lose their colic, i.e., become happy, and there's a climby-slidey thighy that has one of those forts/play house thighys - that's the "bower enclosed" - and the animals exposed are the ridey animals on those big springs.
Though, I'm not sure Chair-O-Key's Tot Lot has this type of equipment. I gotta go check that out.
Damn you clue writer!

Has anyone else found it 2 times?
Boring park for a hunt, i think.

Oh great King Boreas, make winter glorious:
Unleash the medallion quest!
We'll be up front: We devote the hunt
To Box, our friend, now at rest
the last 3 words "now at rest" anagram to "on Water St."
another I forgot to mention would be the "we'll be up front" - on the riverfront
Cherokee is in my top 3 right now... but, there's still a couple things that just don't add up. Will be out within the next hour to check it out
beasts exposed = animal skeletons? = science museum
I know...maybe a stretch, but I'm trying.
and yes, that's one of the most compelling reasons why I have Cherokee in my top 3
It's been corrected.
"i blame kitch"
see what bar show's up...
I know the wild hunt was his...
ok...found it...
