2012 - Tony Schmidt Park

Submitted by ares on
2012 Clues

So its back to the drawing board for next year
to find a spot so deep and drear.
Harder to reach all you whiners
than those buried Chilean miners.

Next year's clues will inspire dread
requiring knowledge of languages dead,
Higher math rocket science
disbanding every hunters alliance.

I take your leave. I bid adieu.
I go in search of the perfect clue.
Prepare to hike hard dig deep and delve.
Will have a grand party in 2012.

Heck, sometimes I don't even think clues tie in to the clues.

I seriously wonder sometimes if someone just writes up something that rhymes, sounds like it could point to a park, then once the medallion is found, sits and makes up the meanings, possibly picking into all the online discussion forums to find out what seems to make the most sense.

Well I think I've got the interfacial road picked out and indint think it's any of the roads/boundaries mentioned here. I'll have to do some checking on this one in the morning.

So line three could be (funniest I found anyways)

A Caesarean Haired Forth Titlist

A Antiaircraft Rehashed Toilets

A Antiaircraft Healed Theorists

This is going to take a while but I will crack that line...there must be something else there...

In computerspeak, an interface is a link between components.

In St Paulspeak, the thing that links the citys parts are the parkways.

Highland has THREE: Ford, Highland, and Edgecumbe.

The treasure rests in a public park(way).

could it be on a parkway blvd?

BUT... why would the CW not do exactly as YOU did to clarify that-- add the comma. The absence of a comma is as confusing as the wording.

The CW could have written: There is a road that's interfacial

or: A road there is, that's interfacial

Neither were done but-- A road there is that's interfacial

To me, that means one of two things

1. This CW stinks

2. This line means more than would be taken at face value

look in the coolerhead threads folder here. King Boreas is Ian who is a cooler crew cacher. He hid 10 caches for the winter carnival event. You can read about it there

Place for leisure is a pool and a place for cooking is the booya area. Does this sound like Highland?

Might I advise people lay off the bitching at the Pioneer Press on facebook? The Gabes idea is far from the best, but it's called an experiment. If they deemed it wasn't a good idea, then next year when LRT construction is done, we're all back in line outside the Press building. But to constantly bitch at them and basically call them morons, I mean, are you trying to get them to make this the last hunt? I'm not saying don't voice your disapproval about changes, but one letter, or a couple comments on facebook is plenty to get your point across. A constant bitchfest just makes the Press' long distance owners think "why put up with this? We don't make that much money on this hunt."

Just my two cents.

It could also mean Como, as they have a pool and cooking/picnic areas.

It's been a while since Como was used, maybe it's time again?

Re-reading the clue not at 1:30am, makes me rethink the key this clue. It's that third line (as I'm sure is fairly obvious). First, on Bag the treasure. I still think it could mean hunting, but it could also mean an actual bag. As in they used one of the original treasure chests from the 50's, and as added protection from the snow and water, they put it in a bag first.

As for that third line. I got no clue right now...

I posted on FB before reading your comment. I just can't stand to see unwarranted repetitive bitching for the sake of bitching. Post your opinion and move on.

What did Oldman post that started all that? Was it the actual clue afterall? That would be a problem then. Ouch!

And it would be way more of a problem than anything to do with Gabes.

The way it's worded reminds me of how Yoda talks. "A road there is..."

I never saw the deleted post, but given this response:

"I have an old friend from the P.P., nice fella.. always walking around with a bedsheet on and such"

coupled with his reference to Clarence Wigingson and jews, I think it's safe to assume it wasn't the real clue.

I am sure you have good input.

noodling mor on my interpretation of the interfacial road, i think that this clue isn't so much pointing out the type of road, as much as it is hinting towards the name of that road.

Nice. Something to noodle even though I feel OK as it is.

I thought about that too... but typically, wouldn't they at this point in the hunt be giving clues towards a road's name without mentioning that they were referring to a road?

Tatergirl

I was thinking that the road separates more than one entity... divides the park in two and is a separation between cities or counties... ex McKnight or Century.

Leisure always conjures up leisure suit for me... a suit for leisure- swimsuit... pool or beach. A gazillion options for that.

So far BC and Highland are at the top of my list - although my skepticism doesn't want them to.

I also have a darkhorse pick but I'm keeping it under my hat until I get a chance to check it out.

I'm headed to Darkhorse Park in a few seconds myself. Maybe see ya out there.

Has anyone been out to harriet island to search for some pirate medallions?

Just curious. I could go there for work related purposes, and take a lunch break to have a look.

If you anagram cook and leisure you get Clue Rookies, that is about all I have so far. :sheepish:

Question for those who have found pirate medallions..... are they placed close to anything? ex tot lots, tennis courts, ball fields, or are they scattered in the woods, brush, etc?

Bag the treasure = Sack it = Sackett..... I like this except I don't think if was there they'd give the name away this early for a smaller park.
