2012 - Tony Schmidt Park

Submitted by ares on
2012 Clues

So its back to the drawing board for next year
to find a spot so deep and drear.
Harder to reach all you whiners
than those buried Chilean miners.

Next year's clues will inspire dread
requiring knowledge of languages dead,
Higher math rocket science
disbanding every hunters alliance.

I take your leave. I bid adieu.
I go in search of the perfect clue.
Prepare to hike hard dig deep and delve.
Will have a grand party in 2012.

Okay, thanks!

Just my two cents about the word interfacial, and grammar. Intefacial, is an Adjective (used to modify or describe a noun or pronoun - answers the questions of What Kind? How many? Which one?)

If you are talking about an interfacial road, you are talking about: at the point at which the two roads interface. Which leads me to believe that the medallion is in a park - at the sight of where two roads interface (intersect). I don't think the clue is as much about WHICH roads, they are, but more so that the finding spot is X number of paces from this interfacial road.

Alright off to do a couple of drive bys on my way to work.

I'm trying to resist coming on this discussion board too much at work for fear they may start blocking it..... the bastards already blocked FB....gggrrrrrr. Wierdly they block all video streaming except the videos on tc.com... the sound is blocked but not the video.

Based on that (and excellent noodle!) the streets montreal and edgcumbe form the plus or "x" if you move the map

I am done now I was just posting about the REALLY BAD POST he had put out there and then some one chimed in about some one just walking up and grabbing papers and it set me off!! at the wrong time of the night! I am done with it now! I posted my last post on there before reading on here! I am just upset because I have heard to many people saying stuff about it and not SPEAKING up about it! so I snapped!

dont know what exactly you are referring to but - i have been to gabes both nights...the papers go out in an orderly fashion and rather quickley - as the hunt goes on it may get interesting as more peeps get out but - its a warm place to hang, no pressure to buy anything and there is plenty of room!

the hosts have been great to us and the drink and food prices are cheaper than most places......

that being said, i am not sure what else MA could have done this year....I am content with Gabes and their methods - besides the online clue comes out an hour earlier if you feel like un scrambling!!

This way the "road" is what splits 2 entities versus Crosby and HiddenFalls park are connected to eachother but not by a road between them.

haha - we were thinking the same word even (entity). funny.

Dark Horse and Enchanting seem to be the words of the hunt this year- hearing and seeing them everywhere

What about Edgecumbe? That would be splitting something? Like the edge of a knife? Anybody want to go check out Highland with me?

Looks like the CC is split up this year again some are here some are there! I am heading out to my park a little later and going to check a few things! just a drive by maybe a hope out and poke the ground a little!

now we just have to see if we're thinking about the same road name?

Technically the road signs are there but not on maps - and on the signs are something that don't really go on roads....are we thinking along the same lines?
Tue, 01/24/2012 - 2:10 PM Permalink
ares

no, i was thinking this gives an actual name.

There is a name on the sign of the road

but you won't find it on maps that I'm aware of. At least not a Google map.

How 'bout doing a Nutcracker off the high dive? I think Highland may be one of the few public pools that still has a taller diving board - if they haven't taken it down already. Pretty sure the Como pool had diving boards - but not sure if there was ever a high dive.

An 'interfacial' road is probably one that is known by two names...

i.e. Century Ave is also Geneva Avenue - lots of roads like that... If you include named roads that ALSO have County or State Highway numbers, the list gets long fast

That's it, I'm headed to state Hwy 5.

Or state Highway 51. It travels through Highland. or area 51

"cracking the nut" also can refer to meeting sales projections.

I wonder if that means something. Perhaps a park with a business of note having financial trouble? Used car lots nearby?

I've seen a couple of articles linking the phrase to agriculture as well. = crosby farms?

Cracking the nut.... ok so Lisa is going CRAZY right now when we went out on Sunday we found a tree that had a hole in the bottom of the tree with a HUGE stash of nuts in it, she didn't want to bother them because they are the squirrels food...now she's freaking thinking the treasure was hidden in there...I didn't press for her to dig them all out....ooops

NUT? Chest nut? Clue 3 LAST YEAR

Published on January 25, 2011

A chestnut gentle makes me sentimental,

For those glorious stories of yore.

Of the days in the glen, when men were men,

Och! Have I become a prodigious bore?

Explanation: Chestnut gentle and glen refer to an old song called "Flow Gently Sweet Afton," based on a poem from Robert Burns; it suggests Upper Afton and Lower Afton roads, which border Battle Creek

Forgive me.

Isn't otto hummer drive somewhat interfacial?

I agree. That is part of what is making it challenging... it raises questions like whether the use of "time" in two clues is significant or just happens because the CW couldn't think of a different word!

Don't forget Division St in NSP.

Its ridiculous how many names that road has.

If it is a new CW...and IF it is in Acorn...I hope new CW did just go off the maps. Parks and Rec and Roseville Park maps say there IS a place to cook there. When I went there I did not see any but, I asked 2 workers as the came out of the locked shelter and they said no there isn't. He pointed to where there had been some a few years back, but now they are gone. IF I had trusted the Maps online...Ouch Thanks CM for asking if I knew by a visual

South gate entrance(CLOSED)loops into Crosby and then back into HF. It connects the parks,

I was thinking about Division too... But more on the synonym path. An interface could be a divider...i didn't know Division had multiple names.

Ok, been busy out in the park today but the third line really bugs me.

A road there is that's interfacial. Nowhere near grammatically correct.

I get what the clue is telling you but why are they telling it to us this way.

Hmmmm

It's probably some big dang Scrabble puzzle. For example: Interfacial has 11 letters within Scrabble:A A C E F, etc. Some other word within the clues also contains Scrabble letters; then it spells out the park.

I know, I am reaching here. Scrabble may not even be anything with the clues.

It would have been just as easy to say "There is a road that's interfacial". It's almost like the clue writer wanted the A to appear at the beginning of the line?
