2012 Clues 

So its back to the drawing board for next year 
to find a spot so deep and drear. 
Harder to reach all you whiners 
than those buried Chilean miners. 

Next year's clues will inspire dread 
requiring knowledge of languages dead, 
Higher math rocket science 
disbanding every hunters alliance. 

I take your leave. I bid adieu. 
I go in search of the perfect clue. 
Prepare to hike hard dig deep and delve. 
Will have a grand party in 2012.

I can still make a case for Como, Phalen and maybe a couple others, but BC does seem to stick out as the obvious choice.

I almost wish the cluewriter would be bold enough to try using encryption on a clue. I'd have more luck breaking a coded message than trying to figure out dog parks, creeks, romans, and interfacial roads.

I've tried running some text through a playfair breaker, for the heck of it, but all I get is more garbage.

Its one of the things that puts me there. Also the idea of Rome itself, founded by twins. I think the whole point of the last two lines was to suggest a repeat while the language quirks are a big red herring. Such quirks have never had any real meaning in the past.
