If you're not planning to be at the Rehash Bash, you can still register by sending me the money via Paypal to this email address or send me an email and I'll give you an address to send the check to.
I expect we'll get a big turnout this year so there should be some good competition.
Clue #1
It seems the PP had trouble you see
With many cries of things that went afoul
Were attacks baseless? You might think tasteless,
Some considered throwing in the towel.
With a hunt cut short plans had to abort
The poor kiddies just did not understand
But no need to fear, a new hunt is here
The Mock Hunt by Allison Wonderland
Let's be obvious, not so devious,
And say plainly it's in a St. Paul park.
Buried in the snow, you might want to know
At least ten paces to the closest mark
Clue #2
If this hunt's taxing, maybe relaxing
Would be nice off in a warm floral home
But like the big fall where once they played ball
You will not be able to spot a dome.
Clue #3
Hunters get surly when hunts end early
Leaving them hardly time to sit and eat.
Yet a reminder, a two time finder,
Well you'll see that he has no time for cold feet
Clue #4
Prove you're not knaves where towers by graves
Loom ominously on the horizon
Don't focus on wealth, take care of your health
An ill body can cause you to wizen
Clue #5
If treasure you seek, make your move oblique
You can no longer go to the castle
To show expertise stay close to the trees
And finding the coin will seem quite facile.
Clue #6
Digging in the cold or panning for gold
Is a hard way to come by quick riches.
Pick up a guitar, become a rock star
Soon you’ll be surrounded by…ladies.
Clue #7
A great house of law is not made from straw
Yet the pulse of a building can be stilled
Its stones not eschewed, their purpose renewed
For here yet is land on which to rebuild.
Clue #8
With some derring-do and a fearless crew
You could find treasure out on the open sea
But you’ll come up short if too close to port
So go starboard and stick around for tea.
Clue #9
So where do you go with all of this snow?
You might be driving in circles by now.
Best look for a boat, one that does not float
And steer away from its snow covered bow
Clue #10
On a snowy night, by a street lamp’s light
From up on high we bid the coin adieu.
There will be no hints for we left no prints
You see, that night, the medallion, it flew.
There's gotta be a Joe in there somewhere... 02 10 2011 10 01 201 201

If you need to 'make a move slanted" - in a game that could be chess and that piece that moves slanted would be a Bishop
a castle could be the Rook
can anyone pull more out of that with Chess? I couldn't
Also when it says stay close to trees, I noticed the TRees - then seeing 'see' twice in the clue would make seert backwards.
WELLstone school and peoples bank for wealth
The Crowne Plaza dance rotunda looks like a green house
digging for gold would be hard to do from Kellogg too which I like
there is an electric tower between the park and the river.
It used to be a cemetery - this also works for seeing Mounds Park tower too
I like that park though as a back-up plan - I keep trying to make things work
and elicits groans whenever it is mentioned.
if you move away from white castle on lexington and have healtheast or one of the healthcare places in proximity as well as the "X" excel i like the parks you're zeroing in on. the park i was at this am was a bitch to dig. i needed my coal shovel.
so far i've pinned on a map of st. paul all the "location" clues and am a bit mixed on location clues and street names...
hopefully no one is in prospect park..
the park I like best
Harriet
Kellogg
Mounds
those are the parks I like where the clues seem to work for me - so if it's any of those I feel pretty good - and I happen to prefer night digging for this particular hunt
seems like night digging is the way to go these days (err nights..) did find a lot of frozen doggie medallions :barf:
tonights clue should be a good one.
I would pick Kellogg as a far second choice at this point.

Seems the choices are Kellogg, Harriet Island or somewhere else. :ooh:
no one at kellogg
no one at the park i think it's at
no one at chair-o-key, but i followed a white caddy..
is everyone getting a car wash?

(Hausgesetze) are rules that govern a royal family or dynasty in matters of eligibility for succession to a throne, membership in a dynasty, exercise of a regency, or entitlement to dynastic rank, titles and styles. Prevalent in European monarchies during the nineteenth century, few countries have house laws any longer, so that they are, as a category of law, of more historical than current significance.
