If you're not planning to be at the Rehash Bash, you can still register by sending me the money via Paypal to this email address or send me an email and I'll give you an address to send the check to.
I expect we'll get a big turnout this year so there should be some good competition.
Clue #1
It seems the PP had trouble you see
With many cries of things that went afoul
Were attacks baseless? You might think tasteless,
Some considered throwing in the towel.
With a hunt cut short plans had to abort
The poor kiddies just did not understand
But no need to fear, a new hunt is here
The Mock Hunt by Allison Wonderland
Let's be obvious, not so devious,
And say plainly it's in a St. Paul park.
Buried in the snow, you might want to know
At least ten paces to the closest mark
Clue #2
If this hunt's taxing, maybe relaxing
Would be nice off in a warm floral home
But like the big fall where once they played ball
You will not be able to spot a dome.
Clue #3
Hunters get surly when hunts end early
Leaving them hardly time to sit and eat.
Yet a reminder, a two time finder,
Well you'll see that he has no time for cold feet
Clue #4
Prove you're not knaves where towers by graves
Loom ominously on the horizon
Don't focus on wealth, take care of your health
An ill body can cause you to wizen
Clue #5
If treasure you seek, make your move oblique
You can no longer go to the castle
To show expertise stay close to the trees
And finding the coin will seem quite facile.
Clue #6
Digging in the cold or panning for gold
Is a hard way to come by quick riches.
Pick up a guitar, become a rock star
Soon you’ll be surrounded by…ladies.
Clue #7
A great house of law is not made from straw
Yet the pulse of a building can be stilled
Its stones not eschewed, their purpose renewed
For here yet is land on which to rebuild.
Clue #8
With some derring-do and a fearless crew
You could find treasure out on the open sea
But you’ll come up short if too close to port
So go starboard and stick around for tea.
Clue #9
So where do you go with all of this snow?
You might be driving in circles by now.
Best look for a boat, one that does not float
And steer away from its snow covered bow
Clue #10
On a snowy night, by a street lamp’s light
From up on high we bid the coin adieu.
There will be no hints for we left no prints
You see, that night, the medallion, it flew.
It was too deep.
2 was easy so I shoulda stuck with my gut.
clue 3 is NOT JAKE! however, he does work to get you to the right park
Clue 4 and 7 are partially the same to me ?? BUT I got all of 4!
I love #5 - line 2
we got part of clue 6 but not the other part
got all of 7
so a couple missing pieces still
As it should for everyone nice
Just sucks when you have the right park very early on (clue 1) and still can't seem to dig enough of the white stuff to find it with more and more people stopping in to 'help' HeH
Here is the new clue:
Clue #8

I will say I didn't get it right away.. my first instinct after the first two clues was Newell, but then when I reread the clues it smacked me upside my head. This newest clue gives us an even more precise area to look, and with how warm it'll be tomorrow, I have a feeling it will be found during the day. Hope to be the one finding it!
A tale of a fateful trip
That started from this tropic port
Aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailing man,
The skipper brave and sure.
Five passengers set sail that day
For a three hour tour, a three hour tour.
The weather started getting rough,
The tiny ship was tossed,
If not for the courage of the fearless crew
The minnow would be lost, the minnow would be lost.
The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle
With Gilligan
The Skipper too,
The millionaire and his wife,
The movie star
The professor and Mary Ann,
Here on Gilligans Isle.
So this is the talel of the castways,
They're here for a long, long time,
They'll have to make the best of things,
It's an uphill climb.
The first mate and the Skipper too,
Will do their very best,
To make the others comfortable,
In the tropic island nest.
No phone, no lights no motor cars,
Not a single luxury,
Like Robinson Crusoe,
As primative as can be.
So join us here each week my friends,
You're sure to get a smile,
From seven stranded castways,
Here on "Gilligan's Isle."
pre v-day joe
I feel real confident about where we were digging, especially because of a certain element which can't be "noodled" unless you're in the spot... but there really is a ton of snow to move, and we barely scratched the surface.
I guess people really are waiting until things are more pinpointed before they head out and look. Thought for sure I'd see more out on a day like today.

Marley might be able to get some more hunting in this week, but its work work work for me.
of course it could be because she reads these boards :sheepish:
You do remember this is your first Valentines Day as a married man, right?
NICE! will be back out tonight after the clue.
"We don't celebrate VD."
Anyway, I always get this small sense of panic when I log on and see that there's several new messages because I think someone found the medallion! :ooh:
