Chip's mother is one of my sister's best friends. Poor Chip. He gets slammed by the others pretty much every time he opens his mouth. Last night I only heard him talk twice. ~sigh~

But I still don't like Bill Klein. And I also think that a lot of voters don't really follow the council that closely and vote for him because they recognize his name.

Um Nick - Please tell me this isn't your new job you're talking about.

Sadly, it is....

the guy was asking ME, last night my opinion on what to do about some delivery shipments, because he had no idea that we were getting stuff in.....

He seems clueless when it comes to anything at all, and I havent seen him doing any work, whatsoever..... just walking around, once every hour, and asking everybody how their night is going....

Not to mention, that at the beginning of the shift, we had a nightly meeting, and he ripped into our crew, about productivity....

"well dude.... there would be a lot more productivity around here, if you pitched in and/or maybe KNEW how to do your damn job!"

theres a reason the other supervisor guy doesnt like this one....

If I wasnt new, i'd have half a mind to talk to somebody higher up the chain than him, and then sit back and watch the fireworks....

whatever...

they can suck it...

I'm off for 5 days now, because of my birthday....

Being an outsider, I'd have to say that he was asking you your opinion because he wanted to see the types of ideas you have and not because he doesn't know his job. I'd also be inclined to say that part of his job is probably walking around to make sure everyone is OK and doesn't need anything.

You've worked there less than a week. You're probably pretty dispensable right about now. It's good that you're biting your lip. His time will come.

He wasnt asking me because he wanted my ideas....

he was asking, because he was nervous, and didnt know what to do, and nobody else felt like dealing with him....

Does he look anything like this guy?
Wed, 03/14/2007 - 9:44 AM Permalink
Wicked Nick

haha...

nope.... he's a 7'4 african guy, with a new york accent....

we talked the other night about stuff... interesting....

he said that he moved to NYC with his mom, from someplace over there, when he was only 7 months old....

grew up, out east..... ended up in MN, because he came here on a trip, to see the MOA, and never went back.....

also claims that he's an expert at ping-pong, of all things....

yup got mine yesterday- went up $240 - funny how recycling and road assessment went down a whole $5 though.

mikey, you can still file and go to court and if they don't show than you win! if they don't pay up a lean goes against them and I believe their credit report :frown:

hey eags -- hear yah loud and clear --- I'm wondering if I'm a decendant of Job!!! my day only began with the toilet overflowing while I was in the shower so I didnt hear it the whole time it drained to the main floor (wood floor kitchen) and through to the basement all over the laundry!!!! then..... yeah, the day kept going one thing after the next... I swear the safest place is under my covers in bed.

I had to take someone to court for non-payment some years ago. They didn't show. I won. They not only had to pay me, but all the little fees I paid along the way. They finally paid up - but when they went to sell the house, the lien was still showing there. If we hadn't been honest, we would have gotten paid again.

If they had just paid in the first place, it would have been much, much cheaper. It ended up costing them about double the original amount.

Yea we will get a judgement.

Sounds like my day yesterday. Exept mines the dishwasher flooding. Now I gotta figure out whats bad with that. Just what I need trying to study for tests.

If I were studying, the dishwasher would wait. Sinks, dishsoap and a drain rack should work just fine for a couple days.

We got someone to pump our septic system out tomorrow for a decent price so we won't have water in our basement up north this coming weekend. Hopefully the drainfield will thaw out before we need to have it pumped out again.

It must be the season for water where it's not supposed to be.

I decided to go to the DMV today to see if I could get the insurance info they used when they registered their car. Decided I'd call the city help line to make sure I was going to the right place etc. They said it was next to sears. Thats what I had thought. I go down there, park at sears, walk the block to get there, ask the lady at the info desk where I can get insurance/registration info on someone elses car that was in an accident with me, only to be told they moved the records office downtown in 2003. So I go down to "Town Square" Park in a ramp, walk the 4 blocks or so to get there, only to be told they don't collect insurance info any more with registrations. Now don't you think they could have told me that at the other offices? Been a couple years since they did. Cost me 2 hrs and $4 to find that out.

On the bright side, she said the owner is definatly liable to insure the vehicle, not the driver.

Another good thing, I got an A in my monday class for sure, and I think I probly got A's on the other 2 also, but won't find out till later. I'll know thurs about tuesdays class, but not sure when I'll find out about Wed class. Still one test to go on thursday.

Being downtown and seeing all the scurvy people and thinking about the the fact that our insurance rates are jacked up because of low lifes around here, I sudennly have an urge to get the hell out of this city. Who needs it? Can't wait to get a job and move. I think it should be our longer term goal and getting another vehicle as a shorter term goal.

yep, dishwasher is on hold till at least friday. I think I know whats wrong already. The valve is stuck open. It should close automatically when you open the door and deenergize it, and it keeps suppling water to the dishwater. So either the valve is bad, or the entire drum type switch is shorted out. I'll put in a cheap valve 1st and see what happens. Unless I can find a schematic for it online, then I can check it out more. There is also another test I wanna do on the float valve that should turn on if theres high water level. Good thing I have a digital multimeter.

So I'm on my way in to work this morning, heading south on Central Ave near Ian's place. There's a red mazda truck ahead of me. One of my pet peeves is smokers tossing their cigarettes out the window, but this one topped that. The driver tosses a chicken bone out their window!!! That's just gross, it nearly hit my car.

I mean comeon, how hard is it to save trash for a garbage can. Next I see the passenger working on this big piece off something, maybe a rib or something. I guess that'll be the next thing they toss out the window...

I learned a lesson today. NEVER take your prescription for glasses to a place other than where you had the exam done.

I had my exam with my regular optometrist but thought I'd save some bucks and use a 50% off coupon at Sears to have them made. Picked them up today and I can hardly see out of them. My left eye is so bad I couldn't even distinguish the frames hanging on the wall 20 feet away.

The fellow there told me they made them according to the prescription I brought in and he suggested I go back and have another exam or I could have them examed there. For a fee of course.

Well, that's not going to happen! So I'm going to cut my losses and go back to where I usually go and order another pair.

I would get another opinion as to whether the glasses are indeed what the prescription says.

Sears won't give your money back?
Thu, 03/15/2007 - 12:53 PM Permalink
Terry

If the prescription is correct, but the glasses were made wrong, they will need to give you your money back.
Thu, 03/15/2007 - 1:03 PM Permalink

No, Sears would only give a refund or another exam if I had gone through the whole process there.

They pretty much said that, but to find that out I'd have to be reexamined. And that's just spending more money because my insurance paid for my first exam, but I have to wait two years for them to pay for another.
Thu, 03/15/2007 - 1:07 PM Permalink
mrmnmikey

I would bring the glasses to the 1st place where you had your exam and ask them why the prescription is wrong and let them look at the glasses to see if they are right or not. They should be able to tell. Of course they will probly only refund the exam if they were wrong. I hate falling through the loop holes like that.

OT - I know I had seen something, probaby a year or so ago, about eyeglasses and how often they are made incorrectly. If the first place you went tells you the prescription in the eye glasses is not what the prescription said it should be, you can get your money back. The place you went for the exam should be able to help you through that process. I'd contact also contact the Better Business Bureau.

I wouldn't be shy about saying you were trying to save some money. Places expect that.

Thanks Terry. I guess I'll suck it up and confess that I went somewhere else. But I am going to get my new ones at my regular place regardless. I just don't feel too confident with Sears at this point. But if I can get a refund, that would be perfect!
Thu, 03/15/2007 - 4:35 PM Permalink
Terry

And if worse comes to worse, go to the watchdog at the PP.

Sears is just trying to protect their rear ends. Don't let them get by with it.

If, for some reason, the place you got the exam had the prescription wrong, make them pay Sears.

OT any eyeplace worth their salt can stick the lenses in their machine and read the RX. Then they can check the RX against the one they perscribed. It takes about 2 minutes.

I'd go back to the originals, and ask them to please confirm that the glasses you had made, match the script they have on file.

Irritation - bars that all of a sudden, decide to have crappy dress codes - which they never had, before - and decide to not let one of my friends in last night, thus messing up some of our plans for my b-day....

add to that - dumbass security/door guys who talk s**t, and try to pick fights with me....

glad I had some people there to hold me back.... :coolfrown:

Thanks for this, I was just reading through some threads trying to catch up on the past few weeks of messages while I have some me time this morning and this really makes me feel good not that I worried you but that you were thinking about me.

I have been at my mom's house since the 19th with the exception of 5 days I went home over my birthday to get some stuff done in the cities. I will be going home tomorrow again for a couple days but then I'll be back up here the middle ofthe week till I'm not sure when again. Since I've been up here though I haven't had as much time to hang out on the puter and I really hate how slow it is so I tend to avoid it. I'll try to be better about checking in with y'all
