my sister ws my knight in shining armor and we moved the truck off the street into a muddy parking lot only to hear this hissing noise bubbling into the mud!!! I also had a flat tire! we laughed but it sucks :frown:
been there before. Luckily in my case the serpentine belt broke about a quarter mile from home, and miraculously I was able to drive the car to my driveway before it died.
I learned a good lesson that day though. A. Have the belt checked every 50,000 miles or less, and if it looks even slightly worn, replace it. B. Get a car that doesn't require taking a motor mount off to replace the belt (usually it's a quick thing to replace, not on that car).
Cluemaster- sorry you were denied for whatever you were supposed to be qualified for.
Mr Med- keep up the good work on the no caffien deal. I quit a few years back and am gratefull I did. Now when I have a "real one" I get really pumped up.
Bear and Vino- good luck with the bridezillas. You'll need it
KC- you owe me a buck, and keep an eye on your car. The cops will do nothing to stop or even catch a guy that breaks into your car. If they actually see then doing it they might catch them, otherwise they don't care. The don't even take prints or blood samples when they steal everthing out of your house. They reserve that for murders only. No wonder the lowlifes keep doing it eh? No risk exept during the crime.
Having the last birthday in the month of march and every one too busy to wish me happy birthday personally. Evidently too much work after giving birthday wishes to everyone else all month. I remember posting last year that everyone forgot my birthday too.
Thanks a lot guys!
Especially after I've been posting all month that the snow would be gone by my birthday the 24th.
So much for hints.
Please don't bother with any bday wishes after I send this post.
Shit! I posted there first too. And I was waiting to read a post when you got home first.
Funny that I actually remembered yesterday when thinking about how warm it was and how we were talking about how March was such a turn-around month as far as weather goes.
I'm not offended by your post as I was thinking about you pal. And OT even beat me too it when I was typing. So you had at least two of us thinking about you. And I'm sure many more if the weather wasn't as good as it was. So calm down sparky, izza all good mon.
And the cops thing doesn't surprise me. Regardless, I'm setting up a webcam tomorrow and we're all parking on the top level of the ramp. If these idiots are stupid enough to try something, hopefully I'll have enough evidence to catch them.
now thats a good idea. The cops might have to really do some thing if ya know who the guy is and got him on video. If they don't know who it is and you get video, try sending it to a news channel to broadcast.
Irritates... over 100 pictures I sent to a friend from our vacation in Oregon last summer going missing in the mail.
She emailed me last night and said she had gotten a mailer envelope stamped "Received Damaged and Empty".
So now I'm trying to track it down. Apparently it would have been processed at the St. Paul Post Office and that's where the machine would have "eaten it up". Mike, the fellow in charge of pictures, is off today. Can you imagine? They have a guy in charge of just pictures? I hope he's good!
Maybe Tater can find my pictures. :pbpt:
Edit to add: So this is the second time in just a matter of months that something has gone missing either delivered to me or sent by me. I never did get my 99 cent book, although the seller made good on that.
Musta gotten eaten up with my Unemployment check last week. I called the Unemployment office to get a new check last tuesday (a week after it should have been here) and they made me wait till friday to see if it'll show up. I was out of town so I call today and get no answer. Apparently the guy is off today. I left a message and getting no responses back yet. And it seems this is just so they can mail me an "affidavid" to get another check. Probly take another week to fill that out and have it notarized and send back to them. Why the heck can't they use the regular UI system and have direct deposit? It's not like we have a lot of money to hold us over when we don't have a job.
What is Open Office? Is it going to be seamless with all my Word and Excel and PowerPoint files? I've got stuff on there it would be expensive to recreate.
Turns out, Target was out of that program, so I'm waiting until their next truck comes in - Wednesday - I've got a couple of days to research this a bit.
Thanks for any info anyone wants to chime in with!
I create a lot of documents for other people, BTW.
Thanks for the offer Terry, but I got the affidavid in the mail today and it don't need a notary. Pennys boss is a notary too. They mailed the form, but I still got no phone call back from them. Nice service there. They even sent me a regular unemployment office affidavid that says on the bottom that if I want to avoid this in the future I should have direct deposit. Kind of an insult since I had that untill they took over my claim and said I couldn't have it through them. (My funds come from a seperate source than regular unemployment funds) They make me do it the old fashioned way of mailing in the claim, wait a week for the check in the mail.
I got a call from the St. Paul Post Office this morning. Apparently over 5,000,000 lost items come through there every year. Just in St. Paul! And most of them get destroyed going through the machines. :worried:
I'm not holding my breath waiting for them to find my pictures.
That's what I thought. I asked him if he meant 5,000,000 pieces of mail come through or 5,000,000 get lost/destroyed. He said 5,000,000 end up in his department.
He also said that they're seldom recovered. So I asked about the items they auction off and he said surprisingly, rarely does anyone inquire about those items.
I may start using FedEx or UPS for mailing packages.
people who need information from me, which I put on an open access server that they all have the pathway (and access to) who email me, cause they want it emailed to them, rather than open the file themselves.
ummm. no. the reason I put that stuff there is so i don't have to email you. duh.
So very sorry to hear that. Though I also believe when the quality of life is gone, it is a blessing to pass over to the other side. I'm sure she will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers being sent to you and the family.

The crayons are mine. well sorta. They belong with my stuff that I take when we do hands ons for kids. However, the bin that i had the stuff in a while back was on loan, and i had removed the crayons to use one of them to fill in a smudge on a shoe (don't ask) so to stash them somewhere, I had put them in the closet....
anywho.. they are all over the floor now.
well - maybe not. He's called to appologize so maybe he's cleaned the house. doubtful, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

my sister ws my knight in shining armor and we moved the truck off the street into a muddy parking lot only to hear this hissing noise bubbling into the mud!!! I also had a flat tire! we laughed but it sucks :frown:
Not much on TV that time of the day, but watched The Mamas & the Papas on TCPR.

It might be late, but it's heart felt.

but I have 8 tanker trucks today, and 8 is a lot to do in one day anyway.. but 8 when raining, is slow, and not nice.

There are lots of doggies in the area, and I'm worried.
also - my doggie, who got his dork collar and stitches out less than two weeks ago, has a swollen ear again. *sigh* here goes another $400
I hope yours returns soon.
right after I hug him and tell him I've missed him. I'm gonna throttle him.

Kind of a blessing actually. Her Quality of life was not good.
cuz i was looking for a CD of my mapsoftware.
grrr.
there is seriously - a box of crayons scattered in the middle of my hallway that the threw down in a fit this morning.
The crayons are mine. well sorta. They belong with my stuff that I take when we do hands ons for kids.
