somthing irking you? pissing you off? rant about it here.

The Cafeteria at work raising their prices across the board. I guess since I haven't gotten a raise since I started, I'll just bring my own food from now on. It'll be cheaper than what they originally charged anyway.
4 hours with a coworker trying to order an HP touchpad through their online employee only store. Site barely worked from the traffic, kept having to reload, knowing all the while most people only wanted to buy them to resell on ebay for a tidy profit.
Eventually the hard work paid off though, we got the order in. Now to just hope that HP actually fills it.
It's sort of interesting how consumers move from screen size to screen size. A while ago it was all the rage to have huge desktop screens, then small phones, and now somewhere in between. I think small wasn't what everyone thought it would be. There's too much stuff on my phone screen that's way too small for me to figure out what it is trying to tell me.
Miniature screens with too much information.....there's my rant.
i'm across the board. for work, i want as big of a screen as i can get. so i've got my 18" laptop screen and a 27" monitor at home. for travel, i like my 13" laptop. and for what i use my iphone for i love its size.
way too many purchasing memberships out there. Points for this, that and the other thing, and if you don't do something with them, they expire.. lame.
I'd rather retailers and "points" providers just collectively lowered prices to give me the best deal the can now, not based on how much business you give them.
It gets too darn confusing remembering logins for so many sites, not to mention checking into them all in regular intervals to make sure you don't miss out on some reward or deal.
Ironically from my last post, now I'm strapped for cash. Nothing screams out diet like not having much money for food
Probably a good thing anyway, I could use losing a few pounds again. Maybe write a book/blog about the benefits of eating less/healthier when you don't have money, heh.
What I find interesting about food pricing is that it costs far less to eat poorly. Healthy food......and I don't mean organic.......usually costs more.
And it's cheaper to overeat at a fast food outlet. 2 for $3 or $2.79 each. I only want one!!!!!! Why am I penalized for not overeating?
I've had it with retailers and their freakin' rewards cards...all they want is to know where I'm going and what I'm buying...junkin' up my E-mail...my new policy is to refuse them.
PS Speaking of food...I have to eat gluten free..talk about expensive...
Yeah, kinda done with fast food as a normal option anyway. And you're right, they do make things cheaper when you get 2.. Annoying.
I'd make more meals at home, but then I end up having more made than what I can eat before it goes bad. That or else you know, make a huge pot of something, then you're sick of it by the time you've finished it.
Hmm.. guess I have some research to do. Since I can't go out and spend money, I guess I have more time to do that.
I so never want to buy a house again. The number of people you have to deal with, and the financing, argh. Just nothing but problems from every side imaginable. This place better last me the rest of my life, I think it already took a couple of years off it.
Thanks CM  It's just been a royal pain to get done. Not to mention my budget is absolutely shot. Stupid time of year to buy I suppose, right before the holidays. Christmas gifts this year will probably be very cheap or handmade. On the upside, the family in the last few years has really shyed away from buying many gifts anyway. And this year, most of them are having Christmas out at Wisconsin Dells.
Our family quit gifting years ago for the adults. The little ones, of course get presents. Our family Christmas is mainly an annual get together with everyone to catch up on our lives and enjoy some time with on another. And a great meal. It has been working very well.
I find that it frees up money for charitable giving that I didn't have before.
Excellent points Donna. Typically I buy the things I want anyway (well, not for a while with getting started in a house).
I'd actually prefer something homemade if I were to get gifts. Sad thing is, people really don't have much time to make things these days. Or perhaps I should say take time. I'm as guilty of that as the next.
sigh* always living under someone's rules. Doesn't matter where you go in life, you always seem to be subject to rules.
Sure, I guess you could take that as, well if there were no rules, there would be chaos, or crime would run rampant. Blah. Like so much in life, everything is a catch 22.
To make matters worse today, my contract recruiter shows up at my workplace today, so I can show him where my boss sits. He gives her a small Christmas gift, wishes me a Merry Christmas and leaves. Guess I don't rate for much, lol.
Am I way off base in thinking that's rude? Maybe I expect too much.
Because it was already there and I would have had to take the walls apart to easily replace it with romex. If I hadn't had to take the walls apart it would have been romex. And I had to pull a permit because the rest or it required a permit.
so a guy and I at work today are talking about Christmas lighting and electricity and he says he "can do it" and I stop him in laughter because he said 'conduit' while we were talking electricity.
the woman who took out the driver's side of our tan van. i had a green light, she followed two other cars around a left turn in front of me against a left turn on green must yield sign. hoping they don't total out the van but we've been shopping just in case.
Ever have one of those days you drive to work and sit in the parking lot debating on whether or not it's to late to call in sick?
I've been putting out fires all day. And why do people with the most years in this dept come to me to ask what to do about problems when I've been here less than a year?
The only satisfaction I have is that even though I'm "half assing" it this week with being distracted with the hunt and all - I still do twice the work than some people around here. :eyeroll: So the supervisor can't say squat to me.
Trying to get presale Van Halen tickets and only having obstructed view behind the stage options at every price level. Seems a bit conceited myself. They're a novelty act as far as I'm concerned (opening act Kool and the Gang proves that) In this day and age and to anticipate a sell out (especially at those prices) is a bad business decision in my book. I'll try tomorrow and see what pops up but I don't have much patience or money
Going to the movie theater for the 8:15 showing of the highly anticipated (by us) movie, One for the Money, last night only to find it had started at 7:30. Then being told by the counter help that I'd obviously looked at the wrong webpage (I hadn't). What had happened was that I haven't looked up a movie in the twin cities since probably 1999, and didn't realize/remember that the movies change on Friday. In fact, others in the group thought they changed on Wednesday. Even if I'd thought of that, the same movie changing times from one night to the next probably wouldn't have occurred to me.
The movies aren't in the SPPP anymore, and other members of the party either aren't online or get online only once in a blue moon, and we had all long since given up calling movie theaters due to the experience of getting a constant busy signal or frustrating recording.
The manager was helpful in explaining where we went wrong, but it is obvious that anyone not from the area or people without computer access/savvy are at a disadvantage when trying to plan something as simple as going to see a movie.
They do claim to answer their phone, a practice they recently changed, apparently. They gave us a card with the phone number on it. And printed out the movie times for this weekend (we might have one last opportunity to go as a group this weekend before one group member leaves to be a snowbird for awhile).
I forgot about that too Eags. Thanks for the reminder that they change before a weekend. Sorry you didn't make that showing. Did you all make it at all?
No. She hates me. Mostly because I have standards and am not ghetto. But now its not just me... its everyone the children come in contact with and love who isn't her or her new spouses direct friend or relative. Getting old fast.
For anyone who enjoyed a fast and free dl..... :frown:   :frown:

This is the end of the line my friends. The decision does not come easy, but we've decided to voluntarily shut down. We've been fighting for years for your right to communicate, but it's time to move on. It's been an experience of a lifetime, we wish you all the best!
Eventually the hard work paid off though, we got the order in. Now to just hope that HP actually fills it.

Soooo frustrating. :coolfrown:

you will be happy once you are settled in.
Just like getting married...the wedding plans can be so aggravating and then all of a sudden 10 years have gone by.
I swear when I retire, I'm going to be a hermit, screw society.
Henry David Thoreau - the action figure
Just creepy enough to remind me of the PP videos that accompanied the clues the past few years.

besides, if you dont get a permit, they dont inspect it.

Be careful what you say to them.
They are usually the snipers.
Does she like you in general?
but it was a lot of fun this year.
