It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.
Treasure Digger
11:30 or 10 minutes later. The clock here is 10 minutes slow.
I was talking to the this man i know will call him peter well peter says its at one of the out side parks I got a good deal on some very bright flares.. and Im gona take my lap top with me this has gone high tech....And....... Ahem I'm pumped!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've read 1843. My thoughts are "don't get too close to the action" is White Bear Ave. Bears and closeness don't mix. I'm really stretching here. I'm looking at two different maps at Battle Creek. Can't really tell where the park ends and begins. Can you help?
Philly, no. Phalen is still very much in the picture. If the next clue says anything like "don't let the white shadow calm you like the flow of water" I'll just scream.
Just wanted to clear up a few rumors I've been reading about Phalen in some of these quotes tonight. First--The parking lots at Phalen were plowed-out so the cross-country skiers form the King Boreas race on sunday would have somewhere to park. No other reason! Second--Phalen Golf was not damaged at all in the last treasure hunt at Phalen!! Third--PP never asks residents if it is ok to hide the medallion in their neighborhood park--especially a St. Paul park!!
I think it's just telling you to stay off the golf course. They've never told us much more than the basics on the second clue. Why would they start now? For $10,000, you think they're going to make this easy?

Treasuer Digger... What do you mean by that? I and my roomy are first time hunters and we are really likeing this I feel this being one of those things I do every year.. Just kinda getting the hang of this.. Trying to figure out what everyone means when they say what they do..
Battle Creek has a McKnight (a knight on a white horse) and a Minnehaha Falls and Stillwater Blvd. It's just that they usually reference some type of water on the first clues which tell us nothing. Water is usually by most of the parks in St. Paul. That's all I meant. More confusion in the clues to come so that it's harder for us to figure them out.
The first two clues are a Rorshach (spelling?) test. You will see in them whatever you want to see. The hints about staying off of golf courses and sliding hills are preventive medicine. Whoever asked why warn people off if there is no course around the site has either never done this before or forgets that hordes of people always dig in the wrong place in the face of all but direct statements in the clues. Focus in on a park now and you risk being a Frog Ponder.
That said, I believe it will be in one of the major parks, because the crowds drawn by the higher prize money would destroy a small park.
Therefore I insist that the medallion is at Newell. I just returned from digging around the tow rope area with no success, but it is just a matter of time!
What do you thing you dorks. Are the only loser's on this site? What is the matter you scare everybody away with your stupid pictures holding your medallion like it was your johnson!
I'll say this again - it is NOT at COMO, NOT PHALEN, NOT HIGHLAND because: 1) for $10K they wouldn't narrow it down to three parks on the VERY FIRST CLUE (ie; ref to golf course (#1)), and 2) if they don't want people digging up golf courses, why would they attract everyone to the only three parks WITH golf courses on the VERY FIRST CLUE - they'd be asking for trouble, and 3) part of the fun the PP has is send us in one direction early on, and then switch it later (ye 'ole bait & switch)...

Welcome to our nightmare Cammando

Ive been looking sence i was a kid this year ive got maps and code a breaker on the team I will not fail !!!!!!!!!
How much do you want to bet that the next clue will have reference to "water". Now like that will really narrow it down for us.
Has, everyone basically gave up on Phalen?
Where's Ian tonight???? He has the MapQuest connection! He can clue you in to a specific area you need Digger. Hope he gets here tonight!!!

Sorry about the repeats - kept getting nnothing, and then I got kicked off. So, Snake, think they're going to give us a run for the money?

I THINK ITS IN A SMALL PARK
Battle Creek has a McKnight (a knight on a white horse) and a Minnehaha Falls and Stillwater Blvd. It's just that they usually reference some type of water on the first clues which tell us nothing. Water is usually by most of the parks in St. Paul. That's all I meant. More confusion in the clues to come so that it's harder for us to figure them out.
THIS HUNT WILL GO THE DISTANCE
Jim-the-Freight-Train: Are you still out there?
Hey everyone, Birdie is back at the cooler. Don't rule out Cherokee again
Golden Boy is looking for MarciRose - you out there??
Birdie, did you go dig at Cherokee?
A couple of random thoughts:
Is the old ski jump still standing in Battle Creek Park?
Is the Ramsey County Workhouse in St Paul? What do you think Golden Boy?
Nope
Marci, I believe the answer to both of your questions is "yes"
Has anyone been out diggin? If so, where?
Someone said earlier that there were diggers at Phalen this evening.
Jim, are you out there?
think the work house is techniclly in maplewood
Hello Marci Rose - good to see ya. The ski jump is still there, but where is the work house?
the one in downtown ST PAUL????
The Ramsey Cty Jail is on Kellogg - (ie; "wont get caught (clue #1))??
sorry about the multiple postings, will try to be patient!!!
Step, you're still here! I'm going to take a brain break and catch some Cheers. Will be back later for clue #3. TTFN
golden--that's in St. Paul...
This hunt really brings alot of people together, people of all ages. I sound like a commercial
I think its Mound Park.
1. Clue 2 using flying, not sleding or other. You can see the airport from mound park.
2. Clue 1 No golf course.
It doesn't say NO golf course....It says STAY OFF the golf course.....
The first two clues are a Rorshach (spelling?) test. You will see in them whatever you want to see. The hints about staying off of golf courses and sliding hills are preventive medicine. I agree with you, Step. I don't understand the concept of "no" golf course but just to "stay off the green and fairways".
What do you thing you dorks. Are the only loser's on this site? What is the matter you scare everybody away with your stupid pictures holding your medallion like it was your johnson!
someone tell me how flying and an airport are popular attractions, I think a ski jump is more attracting
Bob, do you know Matt?
man Pat, you're a psycho!
cool.

whatever--I'll be back at 11:30...later.
I hear you, Golden Boy. I kinda agree with you but still have to want the clues to lead to something real fast so I can start digging.
I don't think PP will narrow the parks down until the 5th-6th clues
What do you think? where would you start if you were new at this?
