1999 Pioneer Press Medallion Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

The Rock

two ideas for the big red thing that can be seen at highland. The water high is the water towers on the highest part of land in st. paul and the red thing could be the

thing right next to the water towers, the red light on top of the water towers, or you can also see the big 1 on the first national bank in downtown.

WHAT DOES ST.FRANCIS HAVE TO DO WITH HIGHLAND?

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 4:07 PM Permalink

Not on watertower property means if you have to climb a fence(with an no trespassing sign) to get close to the water tower you have a snowball's chance in hell of

finding the medallion because you are trespassing and will have a good chance of being arrested.

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 4:12 PM Permalink
HeyChump

what about McMurray the clues fit there too

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 4:12 PM Permalink
Dingdong Didillydias

The water tower by Conway is not directly connected to the park, it is about a block away...but do you want to know what you see right behind the

water tower???

I'm sorry, but I think the Wood Row clue was clear as cake. You really need to brush up on the past few years clues and their meanings. If you do this you see how

the clue writer's logic works, and why trees in a line most likely meas Wood Row.

Well, I have good news and bad news. The good news is I think I finally figured out Clue #3 completely. The bad news is, it didn't help. So here goes. I believe the

first line is actually a separate clue from the rest. A score is 20, and I think "numbers keep score" might mean 2020. "Adorn the front door" has to mean address.

The address on the street sign at the corner of Conway and Ruth is 2020. The second part of the clue then I think may really just mean I-94 and 5 (Minnehaha

Ave.). So what the clues is saying is if you look for a park between 94 and 5, where the address is 2020, it will lead you to Conway. This seems to be about

consistent with the level of information you would expect in Clue #3.

That is the one that I had trouble with. As mentioned, I can only really otherwise say I-94 to the south and Hwy 5 to the north. A nine and a five. Somewhere a four

with the 9 to form 94?
