A place that only a yarrow could love-Peter no flowers where have all the flowers gone? Out in the woods no sun for them to grow

I guess my question is, does it matter whether to start from the shelter or from the round-a-bout? My hypothesis is that it doesn't. They put the thing far enough down the path that it doesn't so much matter.

I have to say, I think it was Wednesday night that Nick and Cocorosie told Lina and I that they think you follow the path beyond where the giant tree is in the middle of the path. If this clue says what I think it does, then they were on the right path long before most of us.

I can't seem to noodle anything new so I'm heading for the covers.

People are really at the bar right now instead of the park? Did they not get anything out of the clue?

En route to trails where puck fever prevails many sides no flowers to see-- could this be while you are on the trails there are many side trails where no flowers grow as it is too wooded?

MedallionStallion

Well they would rather get to the park early tomorrow rather than dig in the dark tonight. So I assume they decided to just round out the evening with one last drinky before heading home for bed.

Don't suppose 'puck fever' is also a hockey reference?

Night Terry!  I think I'll get to bed before 3:00 AM myself tonight.  It's quieted down here a bit.

If the numbered posts do point out the various flowers, which I'm not sure of I'm just going from what Allison wrote a little earlier, then I think this clue tells us to take the path through the woods which DOESN'T have those posts.

Starting from the firering shelter follow the trail in which will take you past the smaller shelter and to where there is a giant tree downed in the middle of the trail. No signposts along this path.

That's where the octagonal flower bed is?!

My god, first we're told to seek out the shelter with the fire ring and head out on the trail from there, now we're told to go to the round about and head out on the trail from there!

Maybe all these clues just mean "crosby" and aren't leading us along a path within Crosby yet. Maybe we're ahead of ourselves.

BTW- thanks rina!

We were the people at GW, we were in exactly the right place all day today, it's not going to be found at night until clue 12 and we wanted to have "one last drinky" like med stal said. Night digging is for suckers.

"to all that remains of a tree"

the reason I think this refers to the giant tree in the middle of the path is because otherwise it doesn't help at all. There are so many other fallen trees and tree trunks that it might as well say, "look for a tree".

I don't think they intend to direct us to a particular tree just yet. I think they're trying to tell you a general area of the park to look in.

Allison, I don't think they're leading us to that tree because it is hidding in it or under it or next to it. But in the vacinity of it. Like you said, in that general area.

looks like it'll go to at least one more clue. I'm workin tomorrow, but will be off Tuesday and Wednesday. Hopefully I'll have some great bit of fortune Tuesday and stumble across it. I think when it comes to hunting, the only way you ever find the medallion is to stumble on it.

everyone digging by and around the tree at the bend in the trail

good place but a long walk

since when does the sheriff patrol any park 24/7 that should have been a dead give away when people were doubting it was at crosby

Mon, 01/31/2005 - 1:10 AM Permalink
KC0GRN

I think the sherrif patrol is just out where the activity is, not necessarily because they have any idea where the medallion is. For instance if everyone was digging at como, and the medallion was in a different park, the sheriff patrols would also be at como and NOT at the overlooked medallion park.

I was out there today. I think I was a bit to far out. We got to the shelter in a different way and so didn't even see the giant fallen tree.

But we found this cool area with twisty vines growing up the dying trees. Realizing a lack of landmarks, we made a new one. If it gets into a future clue I'll laugh much.

Me and a friend build a very large snowman in a pinetree grove. He was like 10 feet tall! Then we carved a sign on him saying "A cruler crew we never knew" Ha! It looks great.
someone please take a picture for me if you find the huge snowman.

I could have used that earlyer today. It helps to get familair with those paths in there. It's easy to get turned around even after you've been there.

I just felt like I had clue vertigo in the hunt today.

I saw the sign nailed to the tree..

Where was that tree with the huge LICHEN?

We held out hope as we rolled the snow, that with the next push, a medallion could be stuck to bottom. How ironic it would be if we built on top of it.

(( WE DIDN'T - dont wreck my snowguy)))

nite all- goodluck

I think we can pull it off, too....

The whole business thing, not the thongs....

I just had made thong undies with my company logo on them - and also some for my service club - they all sold within like an hour.

Thongs with logos are hot....

I could totally hook us up...

except I am not sure I'd want to see - You dig??? on that little square above my arse...

ok - I just read every freakin post in this thread.... my eyes hurt and half way through I had to take out my contacts cause they became blurry....

i haven't had much of chance to noodle the 3 *new to me* clues for Fri, Sat, Sun - but I will work that into my work calendar for tomorrow.

Gut check results - not Crosby.  Still can't get behind it - but then again - what the heck to do I know?

Highland is still my bed.  Perhaps tomorrow it will all change...

Hi all -

Still not feeling Crosby - tomorrow I will noodle my 3 new clues, and see what I have to say beyond that - perhaps a supporting paragraph for my Thesis.

Just finished sloggin...... coco, pretty much summed up, what I was gonna say 2-3 posts back.... cept...

I was almost killed out there by a racoon-monster thing.... there was a big ass log, blocking a hole in a tree, and I decided to move it, and have a look.. well.... as soon as I move the log, the monster creature jumped out, and tried to rip my hand off....... and I ran away screaming like a little girl....

morale of the story?

stay away from holes in trees.

Dunno.... it looked, and sounded pretty real to me....  I burned the log that caused the fiasco, in the fire pit, later too.... dont need any "death log" cursing anyone else.

I'm getting some mixed messages with these clues... anyone else having the same problem?

The yarrow clue and now the most recent "remains of a tree" seem contradictory... yarrow mostly grows out in the open. Perhaps the clue today is just setting us up a more obvious landmark.

I won't be able to go searching tonight... maybe tomorrow, if it hasn't been found by then.

morning all. great new clue. couple thoughts:

"En route to trails where puck fever prevails" makes me think that these are just part of the directions to the puck. it's getting us down into the nature area for sure. but it's obviously just part of the directions. it gets us to the downed tree, but from there I expect threre will be more difinitive direction.

also, are we to assume the directions are coming from the main entrance and picnic shelter area and not the entrance from 35e? because the first big downed tree when you come around the bend from 35e entrance is the "fallen giant" that is cut up. But when you come from the other way... there's WAY more bends and downed trees. Several large stumps. i've been digging at that cut up giant since LAST WEDNESDAY. i swear to god if it's found there i'll crap my pants.
