Just as long as your pee doesn't taste like coffee, you are okay. Try a small sample, say - 20 c.c.'s. If it does, you need to contact me right away, as it's an emergency!

#4648 STRIKITRICH.

I would like to see how many times I've played and how many times I made the final table. Thanks a bunch!

Dear ask Kitch,

Suppose while you were gone, both windows and Firefox both decided to auto update themselves, and make everything on your desktop and bookmarks disappear. Now suppose you were semi-smart (don't take that personally) and found the desktop stuff. Where could you possibly look to find your old bookmarks, or are they gone forever?

Of course this is a hypothetical question, it didn't happen to me. :sheepish:

I can field this.

If you have version 1.5 of firefox, it automatically backs up your bookmarks. You need to know how to get to your user profile directory in windows xp to find it however.

Open Windows Explorer, or "My Computer". Open the C: Drive. Open the folder called "Documents and Settings". Then you'll need to find your profile folder. There are a few in there, one is the default, another is all users, but you'll be looking for one with either your name, or "Owner" possibly. Open that one.

Now, you'll need to enable viewing all files and folders (including the hidden ones that windows keeps hidden away so you don't mess with them, heh). To do this, go to "Tools" click on "Folder Options" (the bottom option on the menubar). Then click on the "View" tab in the top of that window. Find the "Hidden files and folders" option in the list. There are two radio buttons nested in that option, one says "Do Not Show Hidden Files and Folders" the other says "Show Hidden Files and Folders". Press the radio button next to the show one.

Now you'll see some faint colored files and folders in your profile. Find the folder called "Application Data" and open it. Then find the "Mozilla" folder, open that, and then open the "Firefox" folder inside that, and then open the Profiles folder. Inside there you might have one or two folders with odd names that make no sense, open one of them (or if there's only one, open it). Inside these folders you'll find a folder called "Bookmark Backups". Open that, and you'll have your bookmarks dated in the order in which firefox backed them up. Find the most recent dated one and copy it to the desktop.

From there, you can import this file into Firefox's bookmarks by clicking "Bookmarks" -> Manage Bookmarks, and then selecting File -> Import, and browse to the file you copied to your desktop.

Don't forget to rehide the Hidden Files and Folders so ya don't accidentally mess with them.

Try Wayne Transport. It's right in your backyard. They might do it.

Where is this dock? They usually hold 15,000 gallons a load, but if someone in your vacinity orders a short load, they might be able to add your 500 gallons to make it worth their while.

oh man I wish. It's just a bit of a "hobby" right now.

I've considered starting a tech support business for home/home office/small business setups, charge a reasonable fee (from what I've seen, nothing is terribly reasonable in the current market). Trouble is, everyone knows someone that'll fix their computer for free or pro-bono. I'm guilty of it too though, heh.

Are there general rules or guidelines for how overtime is or should be paid?

Yesterday Diggin' daughter open at the Holiday station store were she works. Two people called in sick through the day and she ended up working from 5;30 am - until 11:30 pm.

KITCH

The Minnesota Fair Labor Standards Act requires employers to pay overtime for all hours worked in excess of 48 per work week.

The Federal Fair Labor Standards Act requires some employers to pay overtime for all hours worked in excess of 40 per work week. These employers include:

*

employers that produce or handle goods for interstate commerce;

    *

businesses with gross annual sales of more than $500,000;

    *

businesses that were covered before April 1, 1990, under the $250,000 ($362,500 retail and services) dollar volume test; and

    *

hospitals and nursing homes, private and public schools, federal, state and local government agencies.

Overtime pay must be at least one-and-one-half times the employee's regular rate of pay, which is determined by dividing the total pay in any work week by the total hours worked in the week. Overtime is based on actual hours worked in a seven-day work week. Holiday hours, vacation time or sick leave are not counted in figuring overtime hours. Therefore, if you work nine hours on Monday but only six hours on Wednesday, and the total hours for the week do not exceed 40 (federal) or 48 (Minn.), you are not entitled to overtime.

Unless you are a federal exempted employee... then you will never receive overtime (I'm in that boat).

Hey Kitch - What's the story behind all the different corner beggers that hang out at the corner where 35W runs into downtown?

There must be some sort of organization to the begging. It's a different person(s) every day. And they're standing there every single day rain or shine. I'm pretty sure it's more than just plain begging since they would all be fighting for that corner.

I was thinking on taking a picture of every one of them just to show the different signs and personalities. I'd give them a buck to let me take their picture.

Funny though that many of them are clean shaven and have clean nails. Like they're undercover and watching all the drivers coming into DT. Maybe they're on the Minneapolis police payroll or something.

http://www.doctordog.com/Drdognewsletter/catcar.html

but the main cause is because cats have issues with the stimulation of the vestibular apparatus located within the inner ear. When this apparatus is stimulated, your pet feels dizzy and nausea may develop. They anticipate this reaction.

My cat freaked out when he saw me bring out the carrier when I was getting ready to leave on my vacation in July. We searched for him for an hour and finally had to leave him behind with a neighbor looking out for him.

I'm sure he felt quite smug that he'd managed to pull that off. :eyeroll:

one of my cats when he was small, liked to wrap himself around my neck, and go for rides. He's stare out the window and purr in my ear.

now the fatty weighs about 20 pounds so he doesn't fit so well up there anymore. He still is doesn't mind going for rides tho. I bet if I got him one of those little chihuhua box seats he's prolly go for it.

arizona has no daylight savings..

this I know off the top of my head

daylight savings is really just for the farming community...all it does is provide them more "nrml" daylight...
Fri, 09/22/2006 - 8:37 PM Permalink
KC0GRN

first off, it isn't daylight savings, it's daylight saving.

Interestingly, it's the summer months that are offset from "official" time. And yes, it's to make the best use of daylight hours to minimize usage of certain resources.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time

And, contrary to popular belief, farmers dislike it because it disrupts things more than helps (i.e. they're up with the sunrise regardless of the time).
