Reminder, lunar eclipse tonight!  Last chance until 2007.

The eclipse begins at shortly after 8 p.m. ET (5 PT), but the first hour or so won't be noticeable as the Moon becomes lightly shaded by Earth's outer shadow, called the penumbra. Things get real interesting at 9:14 p.m. ET (6:14 PT, when the Moon begins sliding into Earth's full shadow, or umbra.

A dark and growing scallop will then gradually envelop Earth's only natural satellite. Once in total shadow at 10:23 p.m. ET (7:23 PT), the Moon might turn a shade of deep red that frightened the ancients. No two eclipses are alike, however, and astronomers can't say for sure what color to expect, if any.

KITCH

Tilt your pint glass at a forty-five degree angle; fill the glass halfway with Blue Moon Belgium White.

Place a spoon upside down over the middle of the half-full glass. Then pour the Guinness over the spoon too equally scatter the stout -- you don’t want it to mix. The Guinness needs to be on the top.

Once the Guinness has rested … enjoy!

**I'll be working on a different eclipse!!!!Who put out the light???

For those of you who remembered David in your prayers, this is an update I received this evening.  You may recall that he was burned and had part of his tongue cut off last week.

Dear Peacemakers,

Many, many thanks for responding with your healing thoughts and prayers.  Mary Olson sends her sincere appreciation and gratitude to you all.  She believes it is the hundreds of prayers and loving thoughts that are helping her son, David to recover.  Although, he has a long way to go, she feels he will survive.  She is so thankful for everyone's compassionate medicine of the heart.

Mary has not had the opportunity to read the numerous responses to her pray request, however, when David is in a stable condition she will give us all an update on his progress and the situation.  As a now, it seems that the local T.V. channel 5 (KSTP) is the only news station to cover this horrible incident.  Please let me know if you have heard of another news media reporting on this.

Again, thank you and please continue your good thoughts and prayers.  Recently, there also seems to be an increase in senseless acts of violence, however, there also seems an increase in positive human intervention

through healing thoughts and sincere prayers.  Peace willprevail on earth.  Blessings to us all.  Thank you.

May Peace Prevail On Earth!

Peaceful Thoughts,

Melvin

I hope he continues to get better.  That story might be held back to deter more of its kind.  Who knows why?  I couldn't even find anything on it on the KSTP web site. What a true shame

Happy happy happy wedding day to you! I hope that you are happy 'till you're 92! ...Even more important- I hope that you will be as happy in the future as you are presently.
Where the heck has Allison been?
Hey TV!
Hey LL!
Hey hay!
and all I did not type in, but still have in my thoughts.
The school photo season is winding down- finally! I'll be spending more time here.
Perhaps we should try a Crosby bonfire-potluck thing soonish.

  • a bit of a brag*- I won the portrait excellence award for the 2004 season. Best pic of a kidlet in the USA. Won me $2000.00, and a plaque. I spent a whopping portion of my prize at Sam's club on cases of gum, and sent it to the troops in Iraq. Made me feel warm and fuzzy- alot like the friendships I've garnered here.
Next Joe , no matter who gets it, should go to Frosti- unless you really need it.
Sunday is my birthday- I will be older.

I just got a call from work that all the power in Minneapolis is down.  Our building is fortunate enough to have back up generators and was the only thing lit as far as he could see.  He said it looked even more dark because of the fog.  All the street lights and everything else is apparently down. Only the car lights.  Weird. Good it didn't happen during the work day.  Unless of course you happen to be working that is.

    Anybody hear anything?

Haven't heard about it yet, probably will be on the news in the morning though.

Would be interesting to experience though, I've never seen a downtown area lose power before. Freakier to see the skyline lose power from one of the scenic views :)

Maybe. Cool picture.  He just called again and said it's still down.  Huh

It would make for cool pictures with only having the car light streaks. Why didn't it happen earlier when I was there.  As you know, I don't go anywhere without my camera. Damn

We almost bought a house that had drainage problems.  We just happened to make our final walk through on a day it was raining out.  That was the end of that deal.  I will always look for wet signs from here on out.  I'd do everything you can to clean it up. One tip for those looking for newer homes: Look into the sump pump and see if there are cobwebs.  If there are, you're good to go.
